  • i've seen geoduck at our asian markets here in sacramento california but they look dead unlike the ones they sell in seattle washington. would it be best if the geoducks are still squirting water or would it be okay if they are dead?

  • what does it tastes like??? :S

    looks gross..

  • @AndreaInternauta

its naturally sweet with a nice crunch.

  • you should wash them with salted water ...

  • SubZero,

I really enjoyed your vid on Geoducks.

    You know your stuff!

I live on the east coast and enjoy LittleNeck clams on the half shell. Not to mention the live blue crabs we catch off of our dock.

A friend sent me a fresh GeoDuck this past year and we enjoyed chowder.

Sure wish I would have seen your vid before I chopped it all up.

Asian descents know how to prep and prepare (the hardest part of good food) ! "You go man and thanks for the tips"

    Kudos

  • question.... what kind of sauce you use with the sashimi ?

  • good vid but next time you prepare geoduck put the wholeduck in hot to boiling water for no more than 10sec. rinse right away with cold water, cut shell and guts out, slice neck in thin strips, put on bed of ice and enjoy with your choice of dippin sauce. But there is no way in hell i would pay $18-22 a pound: because i been digging geoduck for the last 10years on my own private beach here in Washington St.

  • ...17, 18 20?

  • Hi, Never tried this clam before. Can you tell me if it is alive when preparing it? Like if it starts to move when we deshell it, would be scary for me. Thanks.

  • WOW..$24 a pound is TOO MUCH!!

  • $23-24

    per pound

  • @subzero824 if you buy it in Ensenada Baja California Mexico, you pay like 6 us dollars for 1 kilo (2 pounds).

  • @JohnnyEscutia very true, at the fish market is fresh and cheap. A lot of the locals dont know to much about it though oddly. When I go to visit family in ensenada we like to prepare geoduck. everyone enjoys it

  • @subzero824 Are you from Vancouver? :)

  • How much did you pay for this one per pound?
