  • This song was written and produced by Rene & Angela, as was the whole of side 1 of the album. How awesome!

  • yeah this version should have been on the album.

  • I love this song... Just put it on one of my mix cd's. I'm 16 by the way.

  • in my hometown, the cover of janet jackson's debut album was painted as a mural on a department store building, it stood standing for over 25 years...I would drive down the street where the mural was located thousands of times so I could look at her beautiful face....lolllll.....Janet has had an amazing career, and she kept her personal life private from the press.....Michael could have done the same thing if he really wanted to......

  • THIS MY SONG good memories thanks for posting. I love Janet

  • I bet she don't even remember the words to this joint lol

  • @Dablkwid0w2008 She actually performed it on her Rock Wit U You tour in 2008. You should check it out here youtube.com/watch?v=kB1DZi5-pe4

  • I was like 4 or 5 when this came out and at the time, I thought the words were: "Shake your do!" -LOL.

  • I love this song it reminds me of my youth. Im about 6 months older than Janet and I got concert tickets to see her again for a 3rd time in San Francisco in April at the Bill Graham Civic Center. ( I wonder why such a small venue?) Oh well Janet has brought such joy to my life by listening to her music! VIVA Janet!

  • I love this song. It plays in the back of my mind somtimes.

  • 1 person must have been having a seizure when they missed the "like" button.

  • I love this version!

  • @musicluvr708 The version they put on the cassette tape (album) was SO irritating! It was mostly music. I hated that version. SO glad when I found the LP with THIS version on it.

  • @themirrorsofmymind This version rocks! Do u like the specially remixed version on the CD...i dont like so much

  • @musicluvr708 I agree! I love this version, which is on the vinyl album I have, then I bought the cd years later to find an inferior remix of this song, the rest of the album remained the same thankfully!!

  • @3117sorcerer I know! And that remixed version is horrible!!

  • This song got me dancing now!!! love this song well the whole album.

  • Its sounds like Don't stop til you get enough. that was the first thing was was in my mind. This is so awesome.

I CANT BELIVE THAT MICHAEL JACKSON DIED. I SO LOVE HIM. IM NOT GAY AND I DONT CARE IF PEOPLE CALL ME GAY. he was an awesome person and He is going to be with us. In our heart. We are not alone!!

    Janet is awesome too.

  • It sounds almost exactly like her brother's song "Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough".

  • @JML101582 Vocals are strikingly like Michael's, but the songs are really not that close.

  • @scorpivision YES THEY R

  • Remember Janet's first song? Every girl use to where a key in their hoop ear ring.

  • man, brings back memories..thnxs 4 posting..smile

  • I love the album version..it has more vocals!!..She sings her azz off on this song!..This songs shows she can sing just like MJ! Thanks for posting!

  • @janetman1

Janet sang her azz off on this whole album. I love this song to this day. I wish I had the original release and not the later version they produce when she exploded all over the Planet of Janet. LOL

  • Haha, just realised this song reminds me of Dont Stop 'Til You Get Enough and tried to find in on youtube to look if anyone else had the same association.

    Got my answer, haha!

  • I gotta find this album!!!

    Janet Jackson is the best!!!

  • Ok-Dac, je vraiment du même avis que vous, cette chanson ressemble vraiment à " Don't stop till you get enough " de Michael ♥

  • I love all the Jackson kids...but this song does sound like a duplicate of Michael's song Don't Stop Til You Get Enough...still no matter this is a great song

  • No Kidding!!! it sounds like a copy or sumthin....crazy!

  • @debfan74

    OMg

    I thought the same thing!

    It sounds just like it!

  • @debfan74 You have absolutely no idea - ear - of what you're talking about!

  • @2008topshelf Yes I have a great ear!! Check the background music not the vocal line...I have a damn good ear and I am VERY musical thank you very much!

  • Woah Throwback. I wasn't even thought about when this album came out!! I Love it!!! Amazing Janet.

  • And I love Michael and Janet !!!

  • sounds kinda like don't stop till you get enough. even her voice sounds kinda like mj's

  • This song was written and vocal by Rene Moore and Angela Winbush

  • @fawcett75 ..who are you trying to fool ??

Only the Jacksons are behind this style...

  • soulofaplant I was trying to mislead anyone! if you have the cd inform you better! do a search on Google!

Rene and Angela is writing and composing for more artists!

    You are very ignorant!

  • Her debut album, Janet Jackson, produced by soul singers Angela Winbush, René Moore and Leon F. Sylvers III, was released in 1982, the entire production of which was overseen by her father Joseph.[3] It peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot R&B albums chart.[7]

  • @Fawcett75 Joe Jackson did not oversee the production, he was involved in negotiating the deal, but he was not involved in the song writing or production, other than saying, "that's good" after the recordings were completed...I know the producers, and know that for a fact...

  • this song sounds like dont stop till you get enough by mj lol but only this song is by janet

  • This song has the "Jackson sound" so I'm surprised it was written by Rene and Angela.

  • I like this song.

  • Wow I haven't heard this song in over 20 years, funny how the lyrics all come back...I guess lip sync-ing in the bedroom mirror is great for memory!

  • chubby cheeks

  • this reminds me of don't stop til you get enough

  • me2 :P

  • it's known as a good-natured imitation of don't stop till you get enough. it's from her first album.

  • I would like to ask all of you a question: Which Janet Jackson album do you think is the best?

  • Did Janet Jackson get help from her father, Joe Jackson, or did she independently start her career?

  • for the first two albums he was forcing her and she had no creative control but she fired him in 1985 and started working on the classic Control Album

  • That must have taken A LOT of guts to fire her own father.

  • RIGHT. I dont know how her and her brothers did it. Joe would effing terrify me as a father.

  • Joe was managing her up until Control.

  • He Controlled Her For her First Two Albums, But She Fired Him And Went On Her own and out came the "Control" Album

  • very classic! nobody dont know nothing about that!!

  • Janet's dad wanted to mimic michael's success. Think abt it, first the generic disco album, second same genre but with a more bold style and so on...

  • She is TOO CUTE!!

  • I LOVE that picture!!

  • She looks so pretty.

  • Onve of my favorites and a classic!!!!

  • I love how strong Janet's vocals are on this song! One of her best, even it's underrated!

  • I like this song by Janet Jackson.

  • Sort of a female DSTYGE.

  • Toronto here and i have to say i love this song!! it came out before my time 82 i was born in 88 but yes i am Big Janet fan!!

  • OH SHIT THIS IS THE ORIGINAL VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the first album and I just always thought the song was todamn long but then I found out it was a extended mix. So can someone PLEASE email me this? I like this version way better than the album version

  • Do you have it yet? if not I can send it to you

  • can you send the music to me?

  • Sure! Always willing to help a help a fellow Janet fan ;)

  • can you send it to me toooooo?!?!

  • me too please kewl

  • I like this song alot!

  • Her first two albums didn't dare too well because she wanted to do acting. 1986's ``Control'' would be her breakthrough album with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. 1982 was an age of adolescene for Janet. She played in ``Good Times'' from 1977-1979, `` A New Kind of Family'' 1979-1980 and ``Diff'rent Strokes'' from 1981-1982.

  • When time came for her role in Poetic Justice, she had had so much success in music that some even forgot she was originally an actress.

  • Which is a shame because she is a fantastic actress

  • Groovy Sound in 1982....better as today...

    Greetings from Germany

  • i saw her live in nyc on sat, she was so good, she performed this

  • I was there too!! Great conert!!

  • my favorite song from her !

    (with rithm nation)

  • Five more days til I see Miss Janet sing this live! YES!!!
