He speaks with great love about this on the Making of Thriller video, it's stuck in my mind forever because I bought the video when it was released and I also loved Fred Astaire. Michael also loved Gene Kelly and Bette Davis. Michael was an awesome tap-dancer and did his own version of Puttin' on the Ritz' on the Jackson's variety show.

If anybody was Michael's "wife", in the sense of being his life-partner, then it would have to be Liz Taylor, in so far as she is the one who stuck by him when he was down and never had a bad word to say about the guy. That was just one of many indications that Michael thought Lisa understood that he wanted her help. After 1998, LMP claimed that Michael had misled her into thinking that he cared about her, and she called him a "very manipulative person."
When asked by Oprah if Michael had used her, LMP replied "All of the signs point to that." When she was asked that question in her 2003 Playboy interview she said, "I'm not saying yes, and I'm not saying no." If you will recall, LMP was not willing to say that Michael had ever loved her when Oprah asked her about what she thought.
Only someone who is in total denial can read what Lisa and Michael have said and honestly believe Michael was in love with her. Not only had Michael walked out on LMP, when she went to the hospital to confront him several weeks later, according to her, he said "You are causing trouble" and he asked her to leave. Not long after that, she filed for the divorce--which is apparently what he wanted her to do.

Well, in reality, LMP didn't let him go. She tried to hold onto him. He just wasn't interested in her. They barely even lived together, according to what LMP has said. Apparently, he didn't like being around her or even talking to her, so he stayed away most of the time and wouldn't let her know where he was. LMP said when they wanted her for a public appearance, his staff would call her. He finally walked out on LMP, and she filed for the divorce 6 weeks later. Within months, Rowe was pregnant.

In the tapes Michael made with Rabbi Shmuley 10 years ago, Michael said he wasn't even interested in her after the divorce. Unfortunately for the LMP fans who wanted to create yet another myth about Michael Jackson, many of us have a long memory that stretches back over the past 20 years. We've been asking each other, "Aren't those the very same people from the very same families with the very same friends who gossiped about Michael, called him a freak, gay, and a pedophile?
Aren't those the same people, from the same families, with the same friends who openly mocked and ridiculed him? Don't those sound like the very same people who ignored everything Michael said, accused him of being a child molester, and told and posted hundreds of "Michael Is Dead" jokes? Michael had to stand alone bravely and faced his accusers and attackers. You won't get that lucky again!
Yes, in the tapes he said she broke her promise and that she disappointed him. Years ago, she said they argued constantly. They were obviously wrong for each other. In the tapes, Michael said he never directly told her he didn't feel the same way about her that she felt about him. He said he thought being that direct would be to hurtful to her. She shouldn't have chased after him to get him. If she had to do that, then that was a bad sign from the start. He wasn't in love with her.

Some people are in the habit of believing what they want to believe, and they feel comfortable ignoring the facts. Michael became a victim of that way of thinking, and he talked about that. The facts clearly suggest that Michael was never in love with LMP. When a man is in love with a woman, he doesn't have to be relentlessly pursue by her. Yet, that is how their relationship began after 1992.
A man who wants the woman that he loves to marry him doesn't day say, "If I asked you to marry me, would you do it." Even the guy next door knows how to say, "I love you. Will you marry me," or some variation of that. As for LMP, even an angry ex will not create stories that demonstrate the man she married never loved her. Yet, years ago--unwisely--LMP publicly talked about Michael often staying away, and that began early in their brief marriage.
In the tapes, Michael confirmed that when he said that she often complained he treated her like furniture. One of the things that is most striking about that relationship is how brutally honest Michael often was with LMP. Humans have two basis ways in which we communicate with other humans. We communicate by what we do say, and we communicate by what we deliberately do not say.
(The second method of communication is often wasted on the young and inexperienced.)
The advantage of the second form of communication is that there are no damming words to be quoted later. For a variety of reasons, people use this form of communication, often inadvertently, to give us information. Before joining a meeting, President LBJ often instructed his staff to listen to what they don't say. LMP said that after Michael said, "If I asked you to marry me, would you do it," she said yes.
Then he excused himself to go to the bathroom. She said that after he returned she wondered why he never did ask her to marry him. LMP clearly heard what Michael deliberately did not say during that telephone conversation--but she willfully chose to ignored what she did not want to hear. LMP was husband hunting, and Michael undoubtedly knew or, at the very least, suspected as much.
The degree of Michael's awareness of LMP's pursuit is apparent in what he said to her as he was about to leave Brett's home after their meeting. Michael was not a schoolboy. He was nearly 35 years old and he had seen a lot. Clearly, when Michael looked at her and said that they could get into a lot of trouble together and said, "Think about that, girl!" he indicated that he was not someone who would feel intimidated by an aggressive female looking for excitement.
It is a mistake to underestimate Michael and his awareness. He once talked about that, and so have others. Michael was not oblivious to what love is and to what it is not. Realistically, it appears Michael began to want the divorce sometime during the first year. After Michael walked out on LMP the last time, it appears he didn't hesitate to accept Debbie Rowe's offer and begin the process of starting a family.
Any sign of romance is strikingly absent from Michael and LMP's relationship--pre, during, and post-marriage. Instead, what we see are a series of "publicity stunts," as LMP aptly termed them.
The two made one video together, which LMP later regretted. The media, as well as other skeptics, are the presumed target audience, and the two make it quite clear they know they are being watched. Think about it--would the real Michael Jackson have asked, or even wanted, the woman he was in love with to parade around in the nude in full public view. Thematically, that video is no different than "In the Closet." Was Michael ever in love with LMP? Of course not!
For years, Michael was being pressured to choose someone and marry. Millions of women would have given anything to marry him, and yet Michael remained single, alone, and very lonely throughout most of his adult life. Why?

Michael was beside himself with happiness when Fred Astaire rang his house after the Motown 25 performance to praise him as a dancer. He speaks with great love about this on the Making of Thriller video, it's stuck in my mind forever because I bought the video when it was released and I also loved Fred Astaire. Michael also loved Gene Kelly and Bette Davis. Michael was an awesome tap-dancer and did his own version of Puttin' on the Ritz' on the Jackson's variety show.

If anybody was Michael's "wife", in the sense of being his life-partner, then it would have to be Liz Taylor, in so far as she is the one who stuck by him when he was down and never had a bad word to say about the guy. Well, in reality, LMP didn't let him go. She tried to hold onto him. He just wasn't interested in her. They barely even lived together, according to what LMP has said. Apparently, he didn't like being around her or even talking to her, so he stayed away most of the time and wouldn't let her know where he was. LMP said when they wanted her for a public appearance, his staff would call her. He finally walked out on LMP, and she filed for the divorce 6 weeks later. Within months, Rowe was pregnant.

Yes, in the tapes he said she broke her promise and that she disappointed him. Years ago, she said they argued constantly. They were obviously wrong for each other. In the tapes, Michael said he never directly told her he didn't feel the same way about her that she felt about him. He said he thought being that direct would be to hurtful to her. She shouldn't have chased after him to get him. If she had to do that, then that was a bad sign from the start. He wasn't in love with her.

One of the things that is most striking about that relationship is how brutally honest Michael often was with LMP. Humans have two basis ways in which we communicate with other humans. We communicate by what we do say, and we communicate by what we deliberately do not say.

The advantage of the second form of communication is that there are no damming words to be quoted later. For a variety of reasons, people use this form of communication, often inadvertently, to give us information. Before joining a meeting, President LBJ often instructed his staff to listen to what they don't say. LMP said that after Michael said, "If I asked you to marry me, would you do it," she said yes.

Then he excused himself to go to the bathroom. She said that after he returned she wondered why he never did ask her to marry him. LMP clearly heard what Michael deliberately did not say during that telephone conversation--but she willfully chose to ignored what she did not want to hear. LMP was husband hunting, and Michael undoubtedly knew or, at the very least, suspected as much.

The degree of Michael's awareness of LMP's pursuit is apparent in what he said to her as he was about to leave Brett's home after their meeting. Michael was not a schoolboy. He was nearly 35 years old and he had seen a lot. Clearly, when Michael looked at her and said that they could get into a lot of trouble together and said, "Think about that, girl!" he indicated that he was not someone who would feel intimidated by an aggressive female looking for excitement.

It is a mistake to underestimate Michael and his awareness. He once talked about that, and so have others. Michael was not oblivious to what love is and to what it is not. Realistically, it appears Michael began to want the divorce sometime during the first year. After Michael walked out on LMP the last time, it appears he didn't hesitate to accept Debbie Rowe's offer and begin the process of starting a family.

Any sign of romance is strikingly absent from Michael and LMP's relationship--pre, during, and post-marriage. Instead, what we see are a series of "publicity stunts," as LMP aptly termed them.

The two made one video together, which LMP later regretted. The media, as well as other skeptics, are the presumed target audience, and the two make it quite clear they know they are being watched. Think about it--would the real Michael Jackson have asked, or even wanted, the woman he was in love with to parade around in the nude in full public view. Thematically, that video is no different than "In the Closet." Was Michael ever in love with LMP? Of course not!

@katierish no one pressured Michael into choosing someone and Marrying. it was his life and he lived it the way he wanted.Millions of women would ha ve given up anything to marry him, but those women were his fans. they would've either loved him for him or his celebrity status, when he was younger he said he wouldn't have want t get married because it was hard for him to trust people.

@18sweethang LMP later said that she felt crazy for 2 years after the divorce. She talked about why she finally gave up trying to get him back. She said the relationship was very bad. She said that she knew he was not interested in her because he would quickly screw her and then it was over--so, basically, he was treating her like a whore because she was dogging him around and would leave him alone. After that, LMP joined the media and began public attacking Michael.

@18sweethang In the tapes, Michael distinctly says that he was not interested in LMP after the divorce. He said that the rumors about him pursuing her after the divorce were all untrue. He said that LMP dogged his mother and she dogged him. In the tapes Michael also said that he would never invite a woman out or to go anywhere with him. He said that if she asked, he might accept.

@18sweethang In the summer of 1993, Chandler's accusations--which were really all about extortion--went public. That's when the media's rumors really got serious. Michael was frantic. Within the U.S., the sales figures began to drop almost over night. During his lifetime, they never recovered. DJs were even refusing to play his music.
Within months after that Michael married, secretly, and for two months denied that he and LMP were married. Michael walked out on LMP in late 1995.

@18sweethang There were all kinds of stories and questions about him, and that was always a point of interest. The media would interview female celebrities about their relationship with him. Michael never wanted to talk about that because he was a private person. Eventually, as Michael grew older, the media began to speculate that he was gay because his relationships with women were not sexual.

She said they continued to see each other for a while, then they just drifted apart and lost contact. Michael explained why they drifted apart by saying the just were not interested in the same things and he felt that she was jealous of his success.
Now, from the time Michael was in his twenties the media and the public wanted to know who he was dating.

@18sweethang At the MTV awards ceremony shortly after Michael died, Madonna gave a special tribute talk about Michael. She talked about calling him up for the first time and inviting him over to her home. They went out to dinner together (she described the drive and how Michael threw his sunglasses out the window), then they went back to her home after dinner to watch a movie. She said she felt Michael reach over and take her hand.

Of the women who were--realistically--available to Michael, Brooke Shields appears to have been the only one he genuinely cared for. But even they were never a match. It appears that Michael was not sexually attracted to Shields. Shields talked about that. She said she always thought he was asexual. Throughout their relationship, they remained just good, playful friends.

Michael obviously knew that and he was very interested in getting and keeping the cross-over population. LMP just assumed that Michael had fallen in love with her--at first--despite the fact that she had absolutely nothing to offer him. He appears to have resented the fact that someone like LMP or DR were his only available choices at a time when he felt he had to choose. He obviously was not enamored with either one of them. Hobson's choice rarely makes a person happy.

Was that strictly a friendly business arrangement? Yes, and living together was not a part of the deal. Shortly after Rowe delivered a second healthy baby, the divorce settlement was finalized--replete with a legally binding agreement--in exchange for a house--not to talk to the media about Michael or the children.
