  • first off, id like to thank you. your videos have helped me moar then anyone! secondly, what if i wanted to put this technique into building a house/ dance track - what settings would you need for juggling a dance beat? maybe you could make a tutorial :)?

  • dude you are such a fucking help. thanks a ton man. i wish you the best in all your endeavors.

  • @JohnnyVegasOfficial Boom! Cheers mate. All the best to you too.

  • Awesome!! I just got the APC 40 and that is a great tip for a starter like me, thanks!!

  • @BraveRobot3 Go glitch some stuff up :)

  • Thanks! This is a great tutorial, very well explained ect...

My only issue is, you can only pull this off decently if you have quite a big MIDI controller like the APC40 D: Ah well! I'll just have to practice with my little MIDI controller for now :D

  • @itchydez Yeah, it's easier with an APC.

  • thanks dude! because of you, ill be djing for digital underground for my school

  • @xSparky117x Nice one. You'll probably get laid too :P Girls like Djs...don't tell your mom I said that.

  • cool

  • I believe that if you turn on your apc 40 in the middle of the session using windows

it wont work, if you're playing live and your midi controller turn off you can't plug it in again in windows it simply wont work again, thats pretty lame :(

  • @Activeskies Yet another reason I use a Mac.

  • Thanks for all the great videos with great tips!

    Greetings from Germany!

  • @SRangelDE Cheers! Shout out from Vancouver.

  • Lovin the loud shirt Drew!

  • @NatalieSisson LOL, thanks Nat. Hope your travels are going well!

  • @DJVespers

Sick stuff man, thanks for sharing the knowledge.

And btw, is the shirt from the Adidas on Granville?

  • @irvingdmotion You're very welcome. I can't recall where I got the shirt, but not at that one. Perhaps in Victoria. Cheers!

  • I saw Kevin Mah show this at the Vancouver Ableton User group meet up at the School of reMix in Vancouver a couple weeks ago. You were there too right ??

  • @SooperSweet987 Hey mate. Yeah, I'm an instructor at School of Remix. Glad to have you out at the group. Cheers!

  • oh it is so on, thank you for this!

  • @BillyLongacre Boom! You're welcome!

  • Huh wow, so simple yet I never thought of that. Thanks man!

  • @LucidSpore You're welcome once again mate! Cheers.

  • Very cool. I'm just getting started with Ableton and using the APC. Your videos are very informative, please keep it up! =)

Wondering how you can change the color of the surrounding box that the APC controls?

I've noticed that sometimes in a club, I can't see the green box.

  • @mikeyd3232 go to your preferences go 2 midi sync then where u have your control surfaces change to what ever box u have the apc40 assigned #1 is red, 2 is gold, 3 is blue and 4 is green

  • thnxs for the knowledge.

dont own a apc or launchpad.

so i need to find a way how i am going to use this on the mpd 32.

  • Every self-respecting live breakcore performer should definitely have checked this out.

  • Love that you are explaining this topic!

I have been wanting a APC40 for very long, and I'm going to get one soon.

This is a perfect tutorial to help people starting making live sets.

    Thank you!
