@PinoThePizzaman77 Cars are effected by the dirty air of another car when about 2 seconds behind, though it isnt 'that' noticable until around a second. It would have been worse in 2006 with more downforce being generated by the wings and more downforce in general. But yeah, pretty stupid penalty even though Massa probably was hindered a little through the Parabolica.
@MetaKnightsKirby Yeah so? You don't have to let another car through just so it doesn't get your dirty air, I mean you're not allowed to actively block it from passing but >_>. that penalty is just strange.
i dont see how alonso got penalized for impeding him here. if you look you see that he is miles ahead of him here. look at the video of takuma sato in qualifying in australia 2007 he had a good 2 cars almost right infront of him and they werent penalized.
Well, Ferrari had complained about Alonso's track position. Massa had been about 100 yards behind Alonso when he lost downforce in Parabolica due to Alonso's aero-wake.
If Felipe sits his fat ass infront of Alonso again i swear iam gonna...!*#! Alonso has had 3 difficult grand prix starts, but being the driver he is he carves through the field like a legend. Only to be halted everytime by Massa. This hurts Everyone in the team, Massa as a road block is costing them the constructors and drivers title. Alonso put his foot down and got El Snail out of the way. The red team needs to be smarter, talking about the chinese race 2010
pffff get outta here, everyone agreed at the time that alonso was too far upfront to be blocking massa. if this was the standard the stewards had to go by all the time, quali would be a joke. The only reason they penalised alonso is cause ferrari did some dirty string pulling behind the scenes seeing as this was at monza. Ferrari were dirty players back in the shumi days, iam sure at the end of todt's fia reign his dirty tricks will be back in full swing.
@leo1fun they used to run them up to 20k RPM which explains why the 2006 cars sounded bettter... also recordings these days are 'better' as theres less distortion which is what you hear and there was traction control on these cars as well.
@leo1fun the reason why the v8 sounded better was because in 2006 they were allowed higher rpms, some reved to 18500 some 19000, but now the v8s maximum rev is 18000, plus exhaust piping has ALOT to do with sound of the engine, and updates are made 24/7 which could change the sound
p.s. love the power of a high rpm v12, but the modern v10 stood up to the test, they haven't used v12's since the 90's :( ..would kill to see a modern v12 f1 engine in action
It's quite interesting (if you're as sad as I am) to compare steering inputs of Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa; watch this lap, specifically through the 1st Lesmo and then compare it with Kimi's pole lap from the same year; Kimi puts in about half as much steering input as Massa through that corner... I don't know if this has anything to do with Alonso ahead of Massa, but it surely says SOMETHING about the intrinsic understeer of that Ferrari.
@bazil83 lol it is well known that ferrari always uses a longer turning ratio than the other cars. The ferrari wheels moves about 400 degrees compared to mclaren or redbull who uses much less. so the ferrari drivers will have to turn the wheel more to achieve the same wheel turn degree. it gives finer control to the drivers but at the same time requires more work to be done. the front end of the ferrari is actually very strong.
@crytycyl Yes, the Ferrari rack is slower compared to that of the Mclaren, but the understeer here is clear to see, as well as it being a very well known fact that Ferrari's baseline tends/tended towards understeer. Initial turn-in is okay, but surely you can see mid-corner the front is sliding... He's even on and off the power through the 1st Lesmo. Obviously it's not in the same league as the rear weight biased Renault.
@bazil83 at the same time its easy to see this, just look at how much the front wheels are turning in comparison with the amount of steering input. mclaren used a very small degree from 2001-2008, as u can see any of lewis's onboard where he turns the steering wheel very little.
cada vez que eu vejo um piloto brasileiro nas pistas, representando a garra e o talento do brasileiro, fico revoltado ao lembrar que, aqui mesmo, tem gente torcendo contra eles. com certeza,é um bando de viados e piranhas!
You on crack? You've been playing too many computer games; this lap was a 1:21.704, the qualifying lap record was set in 2004 by Rubens @ 1:20.089 (I'm not 100% on that, but quite sure...I think Montoya posted a slightly faster lap, but it was during testing so didn't count).
So I don't know where you get the idea that a 1.19 would be a slow lap...
Crap exit through the parabolica - that was Alonso holding him up just ahead; listen to how much he's on and off the throttle trying to get the front end to bite.
Actually not. That was where he lost time. You can hear that he hesitates with the throttle a few times there. I'm not saying that was because of Alonso, but he still lost time there.
@tommetallicarock Schumacher is the best driver of all time.Hamilton massa and alonso... they can not win two related titles, schumacher won 7 ccc. Shumi king
look at listen to massa's exit out of parabolica.... dirty air created by alonso.. that fucks up your top end speed down the long straight..sorry dudes!! whether alonso meant it or not he fucked up massa's lap time (such was the awful aerodynamics in the day)
So you're saying the dirty air created the aerodynamics of Alonso's car is his fault? When the fact of the matter is that on the straights Massa had the slipstream along most of them including the home straight. Have you ever thought Massa just pushed a little bit too much on the entrance to the bumpy Parabolica and so hesitated in his exit so that he wouldn't ruin his flying lap?
Where did beemvcee say ' the dirty air created the aerodynamics of Alonso's car is his fault'? Nowhere. So to answer your silly question, 'no he isn't saying that'. Maybe you should read his comment before deciding on what they're saying.
This is quoted from beemcvee's comment: "dirty air created by alonso" and "whether alonso meant it or not he fucked up massa's lap time". Last I checked people in an F1 car don't physically create dirty air. It is caused by the aerodynamics. Hence why Red Bull couldn't over take the Brawn at Istanbul because they reckon the dirty air created by the Brawn's diffuser is absolutely dreadful, thus making overtaking and following the car very difficult...
it could be because once you get within a second of someone the car gets into the dirty air and it ruins the lap. he has to lift off big time through parabolica so it is impeding. why didnt alonso just move out the way to be honest. he wasnt on a hotlap and had enough time to cruise around to start a hotlap
@X379 sorry. I just remembered he was penalised in 06. Sorry... i'm the dumn one, haha. Yeah kind of unfair. It was because he so say held felipe up. But he was miles in front and any felipe had the advantage of slipstreaming. It was just Ferraris way of getting alonso out of the way so Schumacher could win easily and close in on him the championship. Pathetic really. Shows Ferrari and schumacher can't win without getting their opponents penalised. Sorry about that! :)
Alonso was penaltized for affecting Massa's car's handling in the last corner, which this video confirms, was bs. Massa was too early on throttle when exiting the last corner, thus having to lift in order to stay on track
that 1st sentence yu said does not make sense, im not saying your retarded or anything but to be penalised because the FIA at the time couoldnt make decent aeodynamics to ncrease dowforce is just plain fuking stupid, and if massa was complaining, some1 slap him, because im a ferarri fan and i dnt want to be suporting some1 who winges like that
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Sorry but I suppose Ferrrari have to change drivers.Raikkonen is not a talented driver and when he his wheel to wheel is a disaster,he have problems on the rain and always destroy gear box.Massa try always to do his best but also him is evidently very far from top drivers. The power of a firm is done by rapid solutions to problem and Ferrari it's loosing time and ground.
beside when you watch 80s drivers like nigel mansell, richardo patrese, nelson piquet even senna and prost they always fight for the car to keep lineer line for optimum lap time..fight for TC fight for wheel fight for gear (one hand control the wheel when they try the chance gear other hand think about when you in corner and you have to change the gear with one hand and no TC)..please dont tell me driving todays f1 cars as hard as 80s cars..
Actually it is, because the limit is so much closer nowadays.
Because if you don't push that hard, you lose. If you pushed as hard as they do today, you would be dead back then. It is fact, the fear is GONE today because you can have such a massive accident.
RF1 helmet (I own one) can withstand being run over by a tank
We all saw Robert Kubica fly and hit a wall at 300.
just sitting and push the some buttons..there is no clutch no half acceleration no manuel gears..just sit and push the acceleration pedal and turn the wheel.let other electronic systems (like TC automatic gearbox ) take care the car..this is not real driving...this is just a show..
Ok..please tell me why avarage old of drivers continuously decreasing..because its really easy to drive these cars.first year in f1 season but lewis almost could become a champion..please think about it..lewis not a very very talent driver..senna becoma a champ in his 4. f1 year..prost also.nigel also..schumi also..
Of course he got no talent.lets see hamilton driving with a slower car than mc laren.talent is not just driving fast with best car.hamilton drive best car for two years.results.last year lost and almost this year lost.when senna join the lotus and also schumi join the ferrari both developed the car and get the max even beyond the max from the car. hamilton can't do this..this is what I mean.we will see if he race with another team.
Engineers develop cars, drivers just give feedback to engineers, some better than others. Hamilton didn't have Alonso this year to copy the setups, like some acused him of. Hamilton is still nervous behind the wheel, but u can't honestly say he lacks talent!
of course he got much more talent than me :P but He wont be legend like senna , schumi or prost even alonso better than him.(of course this is my opinion) .I am not a fan any of them ( I like watching all of them) but alonso won the championship againts the king in 2006..dont forget this..and I wonder what s he gonna do if he transfer anther team which slower than the top teams like toyota or williams..alonso has got two well deserved wins in a row this year.I wonder Hamilton can do this..?
In my opinion, Shumi isn't that great, he had a great car and a great team and even a team mate who let him win (remember?). Alonso, a two time champion, couldn't beat Hamilton, a rookie, with the same car, they finished with the same points. But i also like to see them all racing, they are all great pilots anyway.
when schumi joined the ferrari they forget about the winning..from that point schumi and his team members(I said that because all of them joined to ferrari because of Schumi) get the championship 5 times..Alonso could beat the Hamilton if team support him..Mc laren supported Hamilton clearly.Hamilton made a lot of mistakes , stupid mistakes (remember canada this year) you cant see these kind of mistekes almost schumi's all carrier life..also senna and alonso.
But he won in the worst car in the field by going to Ferrari. 96 and 97 and even 98 the car was inferior. 99 and 00 it was more comparable but the McLaren had much better rear stability, something which Ferrari then bettered by about 03. F2004 was completely dominant
grieves968 ur da fckin short gimp saw ya in town wid ur lesbo gyal fckin shes taller dn u by a fckin foot haha short dick, hamilton only won cuz massa's f1 fcked up 6 times which costed him 60p or else he would ave kick lewis hamiltons ass

When i saw a interview, where the journalist asked what Hammilton though about Brazil (for the Interlagos GP) he said he feels like home, but one think made me very curious, he said that people who dont watch F1 think that he is the brazilian pilot... i wonder why
Why was Alonso punished!?!?!

OriginalDaVe 2 years ago
This is quoted from beemcvee's comment: "dirty air created by alonso" and "whether alonso meant it or not he fucked up massa's lap time". Last I checked people in an F1 car don't physically create dirty air. It is caused by the aerodynamics. Hence why Red Bull couldn't over take the Brawn at Istanbul because they reckon the dirty air created by the Brawn's diffuser is absolutely dreadful, thus making overtaking and following the car very difficult...
Castrol12 2 years ago
...Lastly, the second quote is just to show the implication it was Alonso's fault.

I'm massive ferrari fan, and I LOVE felipe massa, but that was an AWFUL decision to penalize Alonso... he did nothing wrong

How and why he was penalised for that i will never know
Alonso was MILES ahead of him so how the hell could he have "impeded" Massa?
What a pathetic decision by the stewards. No wonder Alonso said F1 wasn't a sport anymore after this sham of a penalty
KingAlonso786XX 2 years ago
it could be because once you get within a second of someone the car gets into the dirty air and it ruins the lap. he has to lift off big time through parabolica so it is impeding. why didnt alonso just move out the way to be honest. he wasnt on a hotlap and had enough time to cruise around to start a hotlap

@Veqosta Haha thanks. I just posted a reply without seeing your apology, but it was quickly removed!! :)

@X379 Thats alright. We all make mistakes. 100% my fault. Have a great evening
Veqosta 1 year ago
@X379 He was penalised because his dirty air affected massa's last corner. Massa lost 3 tenth's in the last corner. Coincidence? lol NO!

But who is Massa?
mgarofano 2 years ago
Alonso was penaltized for affecting Massa's car's handling in the last corner, which this video confirms, was bs. Massa was too early on throttle when exiting the last corner, thus having to lift in order to stay on track
C3lloman 2 years ago 2
that 1st sentence yu said does not make sense, im not saying your retarded or anything but to be penalised because the FIA at the time couoldnt make decent aeodynamics to ncrease dowforce is just plain fuking stupid, and if massa was complaining, some1 slap him, because im a ferarri fan and i dnt want to be suporting some1 who winges like that

Sorry but I suppose Ferrrari have to change drivers.Raikkonen is not a talented driver and when he his wheel to wheel is a disaster,he have problems on the rain and always destroy gear box.Massa try always to do his best but also him is evidently very far from top drivers. The power of a firm is done by rapid solutions to problem and Ferrari it's loosing time and ground.

beside when you watch 80s drivers like nigel mansell, richardo patrese, nelson piquet even senna and prost they always fight for the car to keep lineer line for optimum lap time..fight for TC fight for wheel fight for gear (one hand control the wheel when they try the chance gear other hand think about when you in corner and you have to change the gear with one hand and no TC)..please dont tell me driving todays f1 cars as hard as 80s cars..
spooky78 3 years ago 2
Actually it is, because the limit is so much closer nowadays.
Because if you don't push that hard, you lose. If you pushed as hard as they do today, you would be dead back then. It is fact, the fear is GONE today because you can have such a massive accident.
RF1 helmet (I own one) can withstand being run over by a tank
We all saw Robert Kubica fly and hit a wall at 300.
TheRealJakeKool 3 years ago 3
just sitting and push the some buttons..there is no clutch no half acceleration no manuel gears..just sit and push the acceleration pedal and turn the wheel.let other electronic systems (like TC automatic gearbox ) take care the car..this is not real driving...this is just a show..
spooky78 3 years ago
it's a lot harder than you think. it's easy to say anything like that when you've never experienced it first hand.
These are incredibly difficult to drive at this limit.
yomi1896 3 years ago
Ok..please tell me why avarage old of drivers continuously decreasing..because its really easy to drive these cars.first year in f1 season but lewis almost could become a champion..please think about it..lewis not a very very talent driver..senna becoma a champ in his 4. f1 year..prost also.nigel also..schumi also..
spooky78 3 years ago 2
Lewis is not talented?! I'm not a fan of his but, have you ever looked at his career?
You sound like you don't know what you are talking about.
Oh, and there are no easy F1 cars. Even karts can be difficult to drive on the edge!
megahurtz30 3 years ago
Of course he got no talent.lets see hamilton driving with a slower car than mc laren.talent is not just driving fast with best car.hamilton drive best car for two years.results.last year lost and almost this year lost.when senna join the lotus and also schumi join the ferrari both developed the car and get the max even beyond the max from the car. hamilton can't do this..this is what I mean.we will see if he race with another team.
spooky78 3 years ago
Engineers develop cars, drivers just give feedback to engineers, some better than others. Hamilton didn't have Alonso this year to copy the setups, like some acused him of. Hamilton is still nervous behind the wheel, but u can't honestly say he lacks talent!
megahurtz30 3 years ago
of course he got much more talent than me :P but He wont be legend like senna , schumi or prost even alonso better than him.(of course this is my opinion) .I am not a fan any of them ( I like watching all of them) but alonso won the championship againts the king in 2006..dont forget this..and I wonder what s he gonna do if he transfer anther team which slower than the top teams like toyota or williams..alonso has got two well deserved wins in a row this year.I wonder Hamilton can do this..?
spooky78 3 years ago
In my opinion, Shumi isn't that great, he had a great car and a great team and even a team mate who let him win (remember?). Alonso, a two time champion, couldn't beat Hamilton, a rookie, with the same car, they finished with the same points. But i also like to see them all racing, they are all great pilots anyway.
megahurtz30 3 years ago
when schumi joined the ferrari they forget about the winning..from that point schumi and his team members(I said that because all of them joined to ferrari because of Schumi) get the championship 5 times..Alonso could beat the Hamilton if team support him..Mc laren supported Hamilton clearly.Hamilton made a lot of mistakes , stupid mistakes (remember canada this year) you cant see these kind of mistekes almost schumi's all carrier life..also senna and alonso.
spooky78 3 years ago
but then again, lewis is still kind of new to the sport
alinasser4 2 years ago
But he won in the worst car in the field by going to Ferrari. 96 and 97 and even 98 the car was inferior. 99 and 00 it was more comparable but the McLaren had much better rear stability, something which Ferrari then bettered by about 03. F2004 was completely dominant

Felipe didn't win the championship because ferrari made mistakes with him... but he made mistakes too in australia and sepang.
But Felipe would win in 2008. Felipe Massa will win 2009!!! he must win
