@simabro For safety. The alternator has a bolt that carries a powerful charge, so I always disconnect the battery before working with the wiring harness on the alternator.
I'm going to do a valve clearance adjustment on a 2008 Mitsu Eclipse V6 (transversely mounted). The intake manifold gets in the way of the left bank, so it looks like it's not going to be as easy as your car. Do you have any advice on removing the Intake Manifold?
The engine was a B21A1. The specs for the B20A or B20A5 are probably the same or very close. Have a check in the service manual to be sure. The procedure is the same for many preludes, and indeed, many Honda engines.
i have a 92 h22a prelude and i think i need to adjust the valves. it doesn't idle very well when its cold, and it has VERY VERY rough acceleration, like it has a lot of back pressure. im getting the exhaust checked but if its not the exhaust, would it most likely be the valve clearence? the engine has 45,000 miles, but i its been sitting in a garrage not moved for a year.
what is the porpuse of valve ajustment?
