@MENSOERR why? hating on genres and labels is so obvious and needless. if people want to identify with something then let them. i'm glad my favorite music doesn't get lumped in with other crap that people come out with. all subcultures have a label and more than most are proud of it.
What the f*ck is in the water, or whatever you all are feeding on in the UK, that is routing the next generation to come up with this forward, creative, soulful, thoughtful music.. 16?? I was picking my ass at 16. I love how music constantly recreates/reinvents itself with each generation. Keep it coming..
@Pomaori Not denying that it sounds like it. Just the fact that you'd proclaim James Blake was the pioneer behind this sound is disgusting. Mount Kimbie were making stuff sounding more like this at the exact same time. Its not opinion of who was doing it first, but it wasnt James. Garage goes back to the early 90's. Id look there 1st.
@playerthe2nd Chill out, I replied to a comment someone else made saying it was a james blake rip off. This sounds nothing like mount kimbie or 90s garage so what are u chatting about ? CMYK EP dropped before mount kimbies first EP aswell. This sounds like james blake, it aint a bad thing but it does. Whats ur problem ?
@Pomaori James Blake didn't create that type of new-age Beat music, although i do love him, Burial, Mount Kimbie...Etc have been doing what he does for years, in which many artists have now started to copy, and this is the music for the future, until it gets boring
@imCOLOURLESS What ? Have you listened to burial ? Burial sounds nothing like this. He sounds nothing like james blake or mount kimbie. Burial is a throwback to 90's garage and jungle - his sounds is completely unique and there is nothing futuristic about it. Also james blake was like a third member of mount kimbie in the early stages so either way james blake was integral in creating this kind of sound.
@Pomaori Have you listened to burial? He is 2-step garage, yes many of his songs are alot more psychedelic, but nether the less it is still two step garage. and to say james blake created this sound is just stupid. no one created this sound, it gradually happened through the 90s from acid house, to uk garage/Jungle, remember what im argueing about is that you stated James blake as the creator of this genre. Which is just untrue. (Burial Album right there...)
@imCOLOURLESS I never said that james blake started garage or any other genre. However you seem to think burial started garage which is simply false. James blake uses alot of similar sounds to this record i.e. the swelling synths. Burial, psychedelic ? What are you talking about ? lol thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard burial called. Burial is like el-b he is 90's garage with jungle influence. This sounds NOTHING like burial. But a hell of alot like james blake and cmyk ep
@Pomaori "Im glad more artists are exploiting the sound pallet James Blake created" He did not create that sound pallet. and did i ever say burial started garage? He IS psychedelic, search up the meaning of that word you muppet. and i never said this sounded like burial either. learn to read & understand comments.
@imCOLOURLESS The only muppet here is you. Saying someone created a particular sound pallet is NOT saying the created a genre. It's just saying james blake used a few sounds that are similar to the ones in this song. Burial aint fucking psychedelic lmao. Thats the stupidest thing i've ever hear. Look up psychedelic music its from the 70s you idiot lmao. You need to lay off the crack
@Pomaori In england its different.. What you just said then (if you take out the 'lmao' that makes you look like a 12 year old) you have a point, if you put what you said in that contexts your right and im agreeing. and if only you kept a cool head and didnt say that last sentace, i would think your mildly clever. but no

@LOOOOY yer but look at say the drum patterns in drum and bass, what you could say defines drum and bass has been taken from those original sounds and used in thousands of tracks produced since.
@LOOOOY It sounds like the only point of reference you have for this new style of breakbeat is James Blake, who is a very new producer himself. Don't get me wrong, I love Blake, but these guys are referencing much older stuff: early-'90 UK garage and 2-step.
Just saw this guy on the wakestock lineup, so glad im going.

This generation of music is good. But the kids who always have to label music and themselves are serious posers.
