NFS: Most Wanted is still better and i will tell you why. Most Wanted makes everything you do relevant. Cop chases are better. Everything about is not nearly impossible to complete, unlike those damn canyon races. F@#king canyon races. And those damn mechanics suppose to help you win a race not get in my way. All in all Carbon is okay, but I enjoy Most Wanted more.

Pros: 1. Palmont city is a way cooler than Bayview and Rockport. There are also some lovely night canyon sceneries 2. Drift racing is back and more enjoyable 3. More realistic cars and more unique styles with Autosculpt 4. Cross is back (i can't say it's till a pro ^_^) 5. Universal performance tuning Cons: 1. TOO SHORT carrer mode 2. Weaker rivals 3. Nonsense pursuits; less mayhem 4. Boring canyon duels 5. Limited cash 6. Online demands 7. Useless soundtracks 8. Muscle cars' crap handling

carbon is okay, but nfsu 2 will probably remain the best nfs game ever.there's not much of variety in carbon - not many different cars.also, why the hell there aren't drag races like in underground 2?the only thing which is better is the graphics.

Most Wanted is a must...and Carbon, if you can afford it, is worth a go as well. I've heard that Shift isn't that bad either.

@MrJackanthony As far as I can tell, Shift revolves around one talented racer who enters legitimate races. It's supposed to be a game for hardcore racing fans. That being said, don't expect a plot like one in say Most Wanted or Carbon.

yeah but its a great alternative (the NFS series), IMO what i didn't like about this game was it was too damn easy and short.. Most Wanted had you to go through 15 bosses, 2hr long pursuits and such..

I just played it again and finished yesterday, MC games are still the best street racer for me but now that the entire MC series is on hold, we'll have to look for an alternative

What I hate about this game:

1: The police have become unnecessary up to the point when they just become a nuisance.

2: The cars a split into different tiers, making one car impossible to beat with another car with a lower tier, and making you have to progress with new expensive cars in Career Mode, which is especially annoying because of problem 3.

3: Money in Career Mode is limited. When you finish an event and win about $10,000, you'll only win $500 if you try it again.

Well, I guess. But you have the ability to jump to any location on the map. With this method, I have only met the cops a few times throughout career mode while I was racing. Also, with the only real use of freely roaming in the city being the Free Roam Challenges, the interrupting cops would just slow the player's progress. At least in Most Wanted, being chased by police and accumulating bounty was necessary to progress in career mode.

Now that you bring it up, it was sort of disappointing that EA didn't integrate the police into the career as much as they did with Most Wanted.

Jumping to the races was much too convenient...in a way, it might have been better for the game if that was left out...

And while I'm talking, I just want to know; did any of the recent NFS games hit it for you?

I feel like after Most Wanted, all of the other NFS games I played was just one disappointment after another...

Carbon was okay, considering the customization options. Autosculpt was a really good idea. But like I said, Career mode has a few flaws that really degrade the gameplay.

When it comes to Prostreet, I actually enjoyed it somewhat. It took a lot of new steps, though, like adding heavy damage, closed race tracks, and taking the police out completely. But it was pretty good as a racing game.

I'm not even going to talk about Undercover... It was horrid on too many levels.

oh no, i was able to beat the dude in the Murcielago towards the end of the story with a stock RX-8. i swear but yeah, it was tough doing it. i guess i got lucky. the RX-8 was the only new car i had bought. i had the camaro u get at da beginning and the aston martin by that guy, forgot his name. but yeah, that's how i saved money. i didn't buy much until i finished the story. in the end i bought the new challenger, corvette, mustang and carrera GT. all of em tuned

@PressAltF4OrElse yeah, the police are a little easier than in Most Wanted, but you had to go into pursuits to do the game, so it was needed, but in Carbon they aren't needed, but you can jump to anywhere and any event, so you never actually need to do free roam for this game, which is also a problem.

Yes...

You will start out racing in the territory dominated by Angie's crew, which is a muscle crew though...

But eventually, you will be able to move on to the exotic and tuner regions and gain access to their cars.

Just a hint, Wolf is very easy to beat compared to the two other crew leaders, so I would suggest starting out as an exotic.

I got this game with my PlayStation 2 for christmas 2007 and man it's a awesome game, the PlayStation 2 copy was only $20.00 so I enjoy it for what it's worth, and what it's worth to me is having 27 police cruiser's chasing you down a bridge while you prey to god you do not get caught and get a game over screen.
