People don't need to change their names if they convert to Islam. Omar, Ali, Khadija none changed their names when converted to Islam. Islam only says that have beautiful names and if someone has strange name before becoming muslim then its good to change. ie. dick or Schwein/pig. I converted to Islam at 14, I do have both a Muslim and a Christian name in my full name, if you did it the Latino way it'll look like this: Sami Christopher Bakir-Ordonez(my father's and mother's last name), my Christian name is Christopher(bearer of Christ in Greek) and my Muslim name Sami means "noble" in Arabic and Turkish. So really I didn't exactly take on a new name, I just simply added a new identity over my old one, so for me being Muslim is a part of me as much as other things are.
