My dear Aristarhos, Yes that's Ed Parker, and he is allowing Mr. Planas to do techniques on him. The techniques are slowed down to illustrate the weapon and target being struck, so it is an instructional film. Thank you for posting it. Very historical footage of the great Ed Parker in action even with him slowed down. You can sense him holding back his power can't you?
Have you ever seen the footage that is much older than this (before they even had black Gi's) with Chuck Sullivan and Ed Parker demonstrating on one another? Thats Classic.
This is the kind of video that interests me, one that is filled with action and demonstration less the excessive stripes, ego, and over emphasis of fancy jargon. There is no doubt who the master is.
This was taken in the parking lot next door to the Pasadena studio (the second Pasadena studio, the one eveybody knows). That last technique is Entangled Wing, it was part of the prupel belt requirements.
Nice to see some fresh material, we will post the link on our kenpo forum, we are the martial arts academy located on Pearse street, Dublin, Ireland, & would love to hear from Kenpo students from around the world.
I agree. Always good to see footage such as this. I'm guessing, but this looks like it is from the early 70's. Good quality. Reminds me of early video tape. Excellent historical footage. Post more please.

fairly early stuff, and looks like more for instruction than demonstration. just an opinion.

You guys the guy in black is not Ed Parker.
He looks like Larry Tatum to me.
A teacher wouldn't let his student work on him like that.
