When Sonic Youth hosted JJJ Thurston Moore said that friends of theirs (not stating whom) directed a big budget 80's film clip and showed it to them. Sonic Youth showed this film clip back at them in response and it had so much more energy and was far more captivating, even though they literally went to the mall and stood in front of a blue screen at one of those $18 music video kiosks.
