I think many people were expecting a typical mind blowing LOST ending, but what they got was a very sad ending, something I think was better suited for the series finale.
I reached the same conclusion the thing that confused me was the plane that passes over jack and the wreckage looking exactly like their crash only no one appeared to survive.
@sultanpuppy26 because desmond "unpugged" the light, which stopped everyones special powers. also before jack went into the cave he gave the protector job to hurley, and even so the way jacob made people immortal was they wouldnt age, they still could be killed though
Claire was able to have the baby because she got pregnant off the island. Juliet explains this when she is with Sun and they are trying to figure out if Jin was the father. If he was, it was bittersweet because Sun would die (meaning she got pregnant on the island-- the island fixed Jin's infertility).
I followed the whole series from the first premier in 2004 till the last episode. I still occasionally watch the shows over again, i have all the series on dvd. I feel when i watch it over again I can get a better insight and it still remains as captivating and as entertaining as it was the first time I saw it, and patiently waited every week for another episode :D :D. Such a beautiful tv series. I cried when Charlie died... :( Truly remarkable!
Specifically, "I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see." This holds more credence considering Jack's profession on which a Dr. By nature is a man of science so it took him longer to be able to move on...
I couldn't agree more, and just to add, as you mentioned the dialog, in Season 5 or 6, one of the characters states, "what happened happened." To add, the very last scene where the camera pans to a close-up of Jack's face and the very last scene showing his one eye opened and closing makes me thnk of a line from the hymn "Amazing Grace"
I can see where people can get confused. In the church where everybody meets, they are the same age as when they all knew each other. But time is irrelevant there. But everybody also died at different times. The thing is, it's not what we see. It's how everybody views each other .

I agree with what your theory is but how does that explain Juliet saying lets grab a coffee on the island and in their place getting ready for that afterlife? I would love to hear thoughts on that.
@eddanthro13 when juliet said "wanna grab a coffee" she's very close to dying. the state that she was in sort of put her in an "inbetween" where she was still alive but in purgatory at the same time. thats why she said that right before she died, because that was her reaching that moment in purgatory, we just see it later because we primarily follow jack. and it wouldn't make any sense at all/ ruin the finale lol
This is what I thought happened. I think they all died in the crash but some of their "souls" or "spirits", call it what you will, wasn't ready to move on because they still had very serious problems. Kate was guilty, Jack had to control and fix everything, Shannon depended on men etc. Because as I rewatched the series I noticed a trend in the first 1-2 seasons that every time someone was able to let go, they died. What about the psychic's daughter? She came back to life after being dead for a day? What was special about claire's baby? Security system? Why would Jacob have Ben do all of these terrible things to people?
@SuperToughnut Jacob didn't order ben to do anything to these people, remember jacob doesn't really interfere with people. He may have handed richard a few lists or instructed an runway to be built. Ben manipulated his way to being a leader by stating he was special. Claire's baby was not special? i am not sure what you mean. It was a catalyst for many story points like charlies development.
I watched Lost on netflix over a 4 month period and I just kept postponing it till the end but I just finished it about 45 minutes ago and yes I was sad but this vid made me feel a little better. Thank's Phil :)
@MikeyMan24 The first 4 seasons are the most perfect tv ever created, and yes 5 and werent quite as good BUT it would have been insanly difficult for them to continue such high standards, season 5 and 6 were still incredible and overall LOST is the greatest tv series ever by a mile.
So Your saying all this happened and they survived the crash? That is such a stupid story line to the show. I would of prefered that they all got killed in the crash and this was their pergatory in order to get closure to their messed up souls since they all lived such screwed up lives. The fact that this was real messed up the show for me cause the island story line is to bizare to be real life. And even childish. You would have to be on crack to live on that stupis island.
OMG! i love you, man! yeah, with all the people complaining about the ending, made me think what is so bad about the ending? i do agree with them that yes, probably didn't answer all the qeustion but good media always left space for imagination. it pretty much answer all the major questions. i myself didn't understand everything and have to rewatch it to at lest get the idea. i'm not smart for difficult stuffs, but lost execute things perfectly. best series ever XD
The reason Claire was able to have her baby on the island is because Aaron was not conceived on the island. Only pregnancies that were conceived on the island like between Jin and Sun Kwon fail. That was why it was important for Sun to leave. If the Sun was pregnant from the affair she had in Korea there would have been no problem.
Just the Series finale. i am still a bit confused. Why does Richard have eyeliner on?
Most of the people that dislike LOST either did not understand it or were made because the ending was not what they WANTED it to be. I mean honestly, what is there to actually dislike about the show? Cliffhanger endings made it awesome and kept you wanting more. The writing was believable and spectacular. Sci-Fi mixed with drama, religious beliefs, small amounts of comedy, action, etc were all part of the show. This show was a landmark. House, Bones, etc are good but will be forgotten.
@yoyrut10000 The title is not about the show, it's about what 95% of the audience is feeling LOL. I was sorta pissed I watched 6 seasons of a show that made little sense if i missed one episode, to find out they all died in episode one... like I bet the head peeps of the show were all like "Ok bros we are running out of ideas, and people don't know what's going on, hell we could even put a mutherf*cking dinosaur and they wouldn't know any different. Nah lets make it that they are all dead!"
@yoyrut10000 A cliffhanger is great...a coherent explanation is better. Your totally right the writing WAS believable....until about series 4. Time travelling, island moving, god the devil...no. What started in series 1 as a interesting drama with believable characters set in reality ended in a messy convoluted mess set in a sub reality.
People want to be told what to do. Strait forward how to do it, or what it means. Lost really made people wonder , mostly because of the questions that were not and will not be answered. Lost got on my nerves at times, only because of the important unexplained. I really loved this show and anyone Who wants or thinks they should watch it has to to show them how great TV can actually get.
i watched it in 3 weeks also , finished about month ago. LOST was without a doubt the best tv show ever made. every time i start watching a new show its SHIT becouse it can't compare to lost. LOST ruined every other show for me. but trust me its DEFINATLY WORTH WATCHING. i did love the ending it was amazing. BEST SHOW EVER MADE.
Dude, who are you to say what Lost was not? Lost was about the characters, but it was also about The Island, and all of the mysteries that were introduced. It is revisionist history to try and retcon the series into ONLY being about the characters. NO. Lost was much, much more than that. Darlton simply failed to deliver on the rest of it. A weak ending does not automatically turn the rest of the series into something else. No.
@smokeyhatch14 During the writer's strike, Damon Lindelof carried a picket sign that read, "Don't you want to know what The Island is?" Just one of the hundreds and hundreds of questions left unanswered. For a constantly growing list of more unanswered questions, check out the "Search for Answers" at losttv-forum.
@sgtdraino Dude if you really think theres hundreds of questions unanswered you seriously need help, theres very very few and none that are important, We know exactly what the island is. It is the origin of creation, the source of life, effectlively the Garden of Eden, The earths connection to the afterlife and heaven. Theres a difference between watching something and seeing something.
@crazytalkerman HAHA I need medication???? lol..Only in like half the episodes, But the most obvious episode is"The pilot" Mesopotamia?? Light and dark?? and "Across the sea" The source of life?? The Adam and eve allusion?? Dear me you really didnt get any of it did you lol..
@smokeyhatch14 Rather arrogant of you to take the position that the rest of us just didn't "get it." Typical fanboy response. I think YOU are the one who didn't "get it." Damon and Carlton: "It was incredibly important to us to maintain the purposeful interpretive quality of the show. And although it is frustrating at times to puzzle things out for yourself, the show was called LOST for a reason." Darlton left many many unanswered questions ON PURPOSE.
@sgtdraino NO they didnt leave ANY "Questions" unanswered, as for example "Who were the first people on the island" or "What was the tampa job" or "Who built the statue" arent questions the show asked. There is a big problem amongst some lost veiwers as they ask the sorts of questions about lost that they wouldnt for any other show.
@smokeyhatch14 Actually, the important questions are the ones that Darlton DIDN'T answer, on purpose, because these were the questions that they wanted fans to keep discussing long after the show was over. You have settled for the mundane. You also didn't realize that the Sideways had nothing to do with the afterlife or heaven. Nor is The Island the origin of creation.
@sgtdraino Your response PROVES you didnt "get it" The flashsideways WAS the afterlife/purgatory what ever you wanna call it, They gave enough hints right from the very beginning as to what the island was in the LOST universe, im not saying its literally the garden of eden, but thats what it represents. LOST didnt spoon feed the viewers, they gave often very subtle clues to the answers some understood them, others like yourself didnt.
@Rude666 You might THINK you know what it is. I think I know what it is, too... and I'll bet our opinions on what it is are not the same. Why is that? Because Darlton never really answered that question.
@sgtdraino They gave a hundred hints and clues as to what the island is, but i guess most people needed a CSI/Scooby doo style explanation with subtitles.
Micheal's spirit was stuck on the island.....he said he was there because of the murders or "the things he did" when he was alive. Remember....Hurley spoke to his spirit on the island. My guess is that he was not there because he was not going to "so call" Heaven with the rest of them.
Micheal wasn't in the final scene because he was stuck on the island as a "whisper" for killing Libby and Ana Lucia. As shown when he talked to Hurley as a ghost.
The people who did not move on in the final part could also still be in the purgatory world, because they aren't ready to move on. - Kind of like like Ben decided to stay behind-
I loved Lost but I don't get what the point of Eko's story is, and building a church, Aaron and Claire getting baptized etc. They spend quite some screen time on flashbacks of Eko but they leave him out during the flash sideways. And what did he die for?
I probably missed some stuff but I think it's really worth it watching Lost again someday.
@atrea They had a whole story arc planned for Eko but the actor that played him woudn't sign on unless they payed him a lot more money :( That's why he just kinda died and that was the end of it
@atrea They had a whole story arc planned for Eko but the actor that played him wouldn't sign on unless they payed him a lot more money :( That's why he just kinda died and that was the end of it
I watched all 6 seasons in 3 weeks, just finished last night. It was like crack, every episode had a huge cliff hanger at the end, urging me to watch just one more before I go to bed. Just one more hit & I'll be satisfied. One more. I probably looked like I was smoking crack after 3 weeks of that shit. Now sadly its over. I completely related to the season 6 finale, I too walked into the light & felt liberated from 6 seasons of a savage skull fucking. Lost was brilliant & I loved the ending!!!
Claire didn't die giving birth because she was pregnant when she landed on the island. The women who died didn't live long enough to even attempt to give birth. Now how she gave birth in the sideways afterlife and how Aaron remained a baby in the afterlife I never figured out. lol
@MrSlaynn Right, and in a special feature on the dvd Hurley and Ben go back to get Walt and bring him back to the island where we assume they groom him to take over later.
The main question I had after Lost was about "The Magic Box". I know the box was a metaphore, but for what??! How did John's dad get on the island??!!!!
@Rude666 no way man, i dont think the magic box existed, im almost positive ben made that up to manipulate locke and that the others just kidnapped lockes dad and brought him to the island like with how widmore brought desmond back to the island...the horse i have no answer to besides it mustve been the island doing what u said it was and helping them let go of their past i guess...
@MonkeyLad7 How lockes dad got on the island was CLEARLY ANSWERED, he was in a car crash, drugged and kidknapped by the others, and brought to the island on the orders of ben, He used him to embarass locke because ben was jealous of locke for being percieved as "Special" The same reason he shot him when Locke was the only one to hear "Jacob" in the cabin, although it was really mib.
the term 'LOST' wasn't about the people being lost on a desert island, it goes by the meaning that the people we're lost within themselves. hence each character portrayed in the series all had negative lives back in the 'real' world.
everything you saw on the island actually happened, the reason why they're all at the end is because the people who they cared about and spent time with are the ones who they move on into the afterlife with.
@bamboo IT WAS. but not in as much depth as they wanted to, because he grew too fast, they were on the island 3 months he changed from a 4ft 3 inch 10 year old to a 5 ft 9 inch 13 year old, in 3 months on the island thats why they had to cut his story short.
The Island was for real the best part of the show, I hated when they would go off track to focus on each characters background. I was sitting there like "wtf is going on, on the island!!!"
It was about both. If I get chocolate with nuts in them, I don't care how delicious the nuts are if the chocolate tastes like shit. Especially when I wanted it for the chocolate.
They built up dozens of secrets that made you wonder and keep on watching, and then they fucked us all over and all of a sudden it's all about the characters instead of explaining the island's secrets? Fuck you, bad Robot. BAD Robot.
wtf is lost

FOR EXAMPLE...
*The polar bears were there to move the island when needed.
*Juliet was responsible for the infertility on the island by setting off the h bomb and destroying the statue.
*Ect, Ect

Ben manipulated his way to being a leader by stating he was special. Claire's baby was not special? i am not sure what you mean. It was a catalyst for many story points like charlies development.

seasons 1-3 were perfect. 4,5,6 ruined that perfection.
your arguments against disliking the finale are a strawman's wet dream.
MikeyMan24 9 months ago

OMG! i love you, man! yeah, with all the people complaining about the ending, made me think what is so bad about the ending? i do agree with them that yes, probably didn't answer all the qeustion but good media always left space for imagination. it pretty much answer all the major questions. i myself didn't understand everything and have to rewatch it to at lest get the idea. i'm not smart for difficult stuffs, but lost execute things perfectly. best series ever XD

i wish you would do a Lost rewatch just like you r doing with BSG.... please...

Why does Richard have eyeliner on?

internationalutuber 9 months ago
Most of the people that dislike LOST either did not understand it or were made because the ending was not what they WANTED it to be. I mean honestly, what is there to actually dislike about the show? Cliffhanger endings made it awesome and kept you wanting more. The writing was believable and spectacular. Sci-Fi mixed with drama, religious beliefs, small amounts of comedy, action, etc were all part of the show. This show was a landmark. House, Bones, etc are good but will be forgotten.
yoyrut10000 9 months ago 42
@yoyrut10000 The title is not about the show, it's about what 95% of the audience is feeling LOL. I was sorta pissed I watched 6 seasons of a show that made little sense if i missed one episode, to find out they all died in episode one... like I bet the head peeps of the show were all like "Ok bros we are running out of ideas, and people don't know what's going on, hell we could even put a mutherf*cking dinosaur and they wouldn't know any different. Nah lets make it that they are all dead!"
SpammingRogue 8 months ago

MrRob127 10 months ago
No.
sgtdraino 10 months ago
@sgtdraino Name questions(And i mean REAL QUESTIONS the show asked) they did not answer.
smokeyhatch14 8 months ago
@smokeyhatch14 During the writer's strike, Damon Lindelof carried a picket sign that read, "Don't you want to know what The Island is?" Just one of the hundreds and hundreds of questions left unanswered. For a constantly growing list of more unanswered questions, check out the "Search for Answers" at losttv-forum.
sgtdraino 8 months ago
@sgtdraino Dude if you really think theres hundreds of questions unanswered you seriously need help, theres very very few and none that are important, We know exactly what the island is. It is the origin of creation, the source of life, effectlively the Garden of Eden, The earths connection to the afterlife and heaven. Theres a difference between watching something and seeing something.
smokeyhatch14 8 months ago
@smokeyhatch14 when do they say/show/explain or suggest the island is the garden of Eden?
you are insane, you need medication.
crazytalkerman 8 months ago
@crazytalkerman HAHA I need medication???? lol..Only in like half the episodes, But the most obvious episode is"The pilot" Mesopotamia?? Light and dark?? and "Across the sea" The source of life?? The Adam and eve allusion?? Dear me you really didnt get any of it did you lol..
smokeyhatch14 8 months ago
@smokeyhatch14 Rather arrogant of you to take the position that the rest of us just didn't "get it." Typical fanboy response. I think YOU are the one who didn't "get it." Damon and Carlton: "It was incredibly important to us to maintain the purposeful interpretive quality of the show. And although it is frustrating at times to puzzle things out for yourself, the show was called LOST for a reason." Darlton left many many unanswered questions ON PURPOSE.
sgtdraino 8 months ago
@sgtdraino NO they didnt leave ANY "Questions" unanswered, as for example "Who were the first people on the island" or "What was the tampa job" or "Who built the statue" arent questions the show asked. There is a big problem amongst some lost veiwers as they ask the sorts of questions about lost that they wouldnt for any other show.
smokeyhatch14 8 months ago
@sgtdraino IF theres sooooo many unanswered questions it should be really easy for you to name a few wouldnt it? Ok lets hear em, YAY im a fanboy.
smokeyhatch14 8 months ago
@smokeyhatch14 Actually, the important questions are the ones that Darlton DIDN'T answer, on purpose, because these were the questions that they wanted fans to keep discussing long after the show was over. You have settled for the mundane. You also didn't realize that the Sideways had nothing to do with the afterlife or heaven. Nor is The Island the origin of creation.
sgtdraino 8 months ago
@sgtdraino Your response PROVES you didnt "get it" The flashsideways WAS the afterlife/purgatory what ever you wanna call it, They gave enough hints right from the very beginning as to what the island was in the LOST universe, im not saying its literally the garden of eden, but thats what it represents. LOST didnt spoon feed the viewers, they gave often very subtle clues to the answers some understood them, others like yourself didnt.
smokeyhatch14 8 months ago
@sgtdraino I know what the island is lol
Rude666 8 months ago
@Rude666 You might THINK you know what it is. I think I know what it is, too... and I'll bet our opinions on what it is are not the same. Why is that? Because Darlton never really answered that question.
sgtdraino 8 months ago
@sgtdraino well isnt that a good thing, now I have the answer that makes me satasfied and you have the answer that makes YOU satasfied.
Rude666 8 months ago

Along with not getting pregnant on the island, Claire also got injections from Ethan in season 2 which probably made her able to have the baby.
katelyn0201327 1 year ago
Claire didn't die giving birth because she was pregnant when she landed on the island. The women who died didn't live long enough to even attempt to give birth. Now how she gave birth in the sideways afterlife and how Aaron remained a baby in the afterlife I never figured out. lol

The main question I had after Lost was about "The Magic Box". I know the box was a metaphore, but for what??! How did John's dad get on the island??!!!!
MonkeyLad7 1 year ago
@MonkeyLad7 The magic box was the "light"
The light made Kates horse and Sayids cat from their past appear to help them "let go" of from their past.
It also made Lockes dad appear. So Locke and Sawyer could "Let go" of him.
Rude666 1 year ago
@Rude666 no way man, i dont think the magic box existed, im almost positive ben made that up to manipulate locke and that the others just kidnapped lockes dad and brought him to the island like with how widmore brought desmond back to the island...the horse i have no answer to besides it mustve been the island doing what u said it was and helping them let go of their past i guess...
JohnZoldos 1 year ago
@MonkeyLad7 How lockes dad got on the island was CLEARLY ANSWERED, he was in a car crash, drugged and kidknapped by the others, and brought to the island on the orders of ben, He used him to embarass locke because ben was jealous of locke for being percieved as "Special" The same reason he shot him when Locke was the only one to hear "Jacob" in the cabin, although it was really mib.

the term 'LOST' wasn't about the people being lost on a desert island, it goes by the meaning that the people we're lost within themselves. hence each character portrayed in the series all had negative lives back in the 'real' world.
everything you saw on the island actually happened, the reason why they're all at the end is because the people who they cared about and spent time with are the ones who they move on into the afterlife with.
it's a touching end to a fantastic 6 series.

@bamboo IT WAS. but not in as much depth as they wanted to, because he grew too fast, they were on the island 3 months he changed from a 4ft 3 inch 10 year old to a 5 ft 9 inch 13 year old, in 3 months on the island thats why they had to cut his story short.
