@amerrill351 Well, in their defence, this song IS a little middle-of-the-road, and very obviously the "lead-in single" song - it takes few risks, and sounds very "mainstream", like it's the song that'll get their name on rock radio. Plus, the lifeless mastering which hurts the whole album is even more obvious here, because it's not as break-downy, so the fewer gaps in the music make the lack of dynamics in the mix obvious. It's certainly the weakest song on what is still another great album.

As you mentioned in your description, you think the song is a bit boring. Well if you've got that thought in your head when you're gonna try covering it, it's gonna sound a bit boring, mostly because the song sounds pretty one-toned, sort of speak. I can understand it's hard to perform a song that's quite one-toned, and turn it into something special. I sounded great, but it just didn't go over the edge, it didn't have the energy, if you understand what i'm saying.
