Saw Watermelon in Wheeling and he opened with Wheelman. From then on I was hooked. Rarely anyone can put on a show like Slim!

I saw Bill and his band 3 days ago in Spain. He's great, playing blues as few people does. Besides that, he's very funny, talking in Spanish, joking, ... he's a showman

Was at a "Juneteenth" celebration in a park in Stillwater Ok, and saw this old man being largely ignored playing some blues. I had heard of Watermelon Slim, but never met him, and was amazed at what I heard. When I realized who he was, I took the oportunity to introduce my family to a true blues musician. A few months later, he went on tour in Europe, and they knew the real deal when they heard it.. The rest is history, but we don't see him in Stillwater so much anymore. Good for him!
