In nature the mother regurgitates meat for the puppies after it has been transported in the stomach, it's already been chewed to a pulp which then helps the puppies to consume it, in other words they would never eat a large piece of venison. Kind thought though.
Quite right DrChrisBiomed on all accounts. This litter didn't actually get a feed from a large piece of venison but rather got to 'tantalize' their taste buds with it. This litter was raised entirely on raw feeding; from chicken, sheep, beef to rabbit, kangaroo and venison. They began with minced meat and progressed to chucks and pieces with bone left in. Did you see the clip where they had rabbit for a meal? They managed to get through it all with little effort :o)
I realy would like to get one, but there is question. what is their life span? cause I know that some big dogs live liko for 6 years, because of heart problems, any info plz?
10-13 years weims are one of the most healthy dogs the major things they suffer from are hip displasia (which all large breeds have) and bloat which means u cant feed them too much and the same time feed them twice a day with 2 cups dry...which is actually a good thing cuss u save money on food lol.
Hey luke13PL, I don't feed my Weis commercial food these days. I believe, unequivocally, that a 'species specific' diet is the best diet for any animal. It's how nature intended for things to be. Zeta, 4 years young now, is my first Wei fed a raw diet and is a picture of health. She doesn't have that 'doggy' smell or bad breath and has the most beautiful white teeth. Her vet can not believe how white her teeth are and how healthy her gums are. Thanks for your comment & for watching the clip :o)
Thanks Steve, Greystalker Weimaraners, for providing such a good start for the Britfeld 'A' gang. It's obvious, for all to see, how important good diet and good breeding produces beautiful dogs.
They look like they don't have waistlines. Just all round with a lot of pound....
