@aubergine28 It's a Boss DD-5 with a Boss FS-5U. You plug the FS-5U directly into the DD-5 and on some of the settings you can tap in the rhythm. On setting 9 it automatically gives you the dotted eighth effect when you tap in the quarter note. That's why he says "the delay time doesn't matter."
@mexicantboy45 pickup & setting does the job, well, i wasn't using a grestch guitar, with the mini humbucker. i guess my delay setting wasn't good enough, btw, i'm using DD-7. i adjust to the setting which michael showed in the video but it doesn't sound like it
You don't need a gretsch to get that kind of sound. I don't think it's worth the money - most of it goes into the brand. I prefer Ibanez in that regard.
@Augustua the cheapest gretsch that i've seen that is still worth buying would be the pro jet.... sells for about $600. As far as i know he plays a black penguin and a white falcon...
Does anyone know where I can get a flight case like Chislett's got? It's it just a standard ATA pedal case? I'm thinkin in the next year I might need one of that caliber
He's using just the TS808 and DD5 for this video...you can see which LED's are lit up on his loop-strip near the end of the video. And his guitar is on the bridge pickup.
michael is using a boss dd6 delay pedal for the repeated notes, the device that he is using for tap tempo is an external boss FS5U tap tempo, he has it plugged into the stero input of the pedal. The DD6 has tap tempo but FS5U takes away the time needed to access it.

@MrMax0159 It's a Gretsch Black Penguin. He took the pickguard off of it, so it looks a little different on the Gretsch Website.

@Augustua They're not actually humbuckers. More like a creamy single coils. Dynasonic Pickups or DeArmands, as they were called originally.

sure, just hold down the pedal for 2 seconds and tap to the same tempo he is. Make sure the feedback is at halfway and the level is atleast at half.

NO, Michael guy is using a DD-5, not the DD-6.
The DD-6 doesn't have the external tap tempo feature, only the DD-5 and DD-7 do, and the DD-20 also. But obviously he isn't using that LOL
cmoralest 2 years ago
true that I new that, but when I was typing DD6 came out cuz thats what I have, im a creature of habbit.

not bad, maybe around 35 bucks, but your delay gotta be to have an external input for it.

This is a "Foot Controller" to adjust the time delay.
