I think people underestimate the noise these cars make. They are utterly ear shattering. My inner ear rattles like hell when one of these monsters darts by, I'm serious when I say IT HURTS. Plus at low RPM's the engine rumbles like a bee hive, and it's like hundreds of explosions per second. There is really no way to express how loud they are.

Those were real F1 cars. V10 engine, nice sound, big wings...

Today they drive playmobile cars... I will never forget the V10's, but especially the Ferrari V12's were just stunning...

I'm glad, I have seen (heard) them live in 94 and 95 at Hockenheim and at Spa.

The F2004 is the epitome of F1 V10's. When such a Formula 1 car with a V10 engine reached perfection (proof of Michael Schumacher's dominating wins), FIA decided to ban V10 because they were thinking of "putting competition amongst all teams closer".

Then came the V8's. Without the more pronounced power of V10s, engineers focused on cornering via aerodynamic grip.... When aerodynamics reached perfection, it was banned again...

Now you have the basic lookin' F60 then the F10...

Yea, the V8s sound a lot more strained a high pitched, the V10s are more dramatic. The V12s were the best though, so damn smooth...

I do like the shifting of the newer cars though, there's a bit of backfire (or whatever you call it, i'm no expert) in the V-10 when shifting down.

the development costs of the v8 is far higher slower and sound shit against 3 ltr v 10 the fia shud have just reduced further v 10 development at no cost 2 any team instead of developing at costs crap v8 fia wrong again baz in chester

@Davidpeers93 In fact, that wasn't the main reason of the change. The V10 engines were reaching 1000HP and getting more an more fast and unsafe.

There were meetings and the options were 2: reduce the V10 engine power o start making a new V8 without limits (at the begining). Most of the teams voted the last one.
