new sub here,, hey there was a movie out in 1973 called executive action, you look like the charachter. it was pulled off the shelf after a short, they were trying to recreate the JFK sequence with lots of props. Its supposed to be out on DVD. burt lancaster etc
they were shooting in the desert, and using that old Mannlicher-Carcano rifle.
The best ammo was the copper-washed stuff, which is what you see in the beginning. The worst was the brass-cased because I was blowing primers. The second to worst was the lacquer-coated steel cased ammo. All of it was surplus ammo. The absolute best ammo would be brass-cased Prvi Partizan or the hunting-grade Winchester stuff. I don't mind the copper-washed surplus, it's good stuff except for the corrosive factor.
@Mr2ndAmendment Thats what I've heard about the copper-washed stuff. But it being corrosive is only a problem if you don't clean the rifle after shooting it, right? I'll agree with you on Prvi-partizan, I've never had a problem with any ammo made by them!
Indeed. Corrosive ammo is fine unless you don't clean it within a day or two at most after shooting. The only other problem with surplus ammo is if you live in California or any other place that won't allow you to shoot steel core ammo, because all surplus ammo attracts a magnet.

@MrPettj
It's really not that smooth. You just got to use some serious leverage on it.
