  • She seems introverted. just like I was when I toured for years playing guitar with God knows who. Vineland N.J. was the worse place for a serious musician in the mid to late 70's. A great guitarist named Steve Laury hails from there. Check him out on youtube. If in fact she is an introvert or commonly shy, it explains her sensitivity as a player. Her experssion as an artist. She is probably tired of comments about her gender. She is a child prodigy. I love her writing!

  • She could easily play anything from Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jean Luc Ponty, or Return to Forever. She could probably play Ponty's violin solos on guitar with ease. She has most likely surpassed those levels by now. She is a serious minded musician and an amazing guitarist. I love her writing as well. An artist like this comes along every so often and is rare in the world.

  • @WILLOW5521 jazz fusion is where its at and always has been its the hardest of all Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jean Luc Ponty, shes up there with them in fact the whole group kicks ass lol

  • 太好了 我嘎嘎喜欢你~!

  • I would have to agree with you all. Today is 4/9/11 and this is the first time,

I am seeing her. Have watched so far about 5 videos of her playing.

Fucking Fantastic! Great Great technique, A whole lot of feel and Thank God she is just not addicted to speed playing... There's a plenty more style to her than that!

I would put her up with some of the best jazz fusion guitarists I have ever seen!

  • where can i get her music or anything this cool??

  • yeah!!! great thing and Nori has a great hand!!!! love it! *****

  • Veeery professional, every step of the way.

    No posturing. No head trips.

These guys are here to make music....

E,Nori...siete cosi molto bei. Dovrie dare la mia anima per toccare i vostre labbri.

  • i think she's defenately one of the best rock female guitarists now. Maybe just after jennifer batten.

  • Like the guy yells out in the audience: Unreal!

  • I'd like to put Katie Melua in Martin Brundells with this girl in the other pod and marry the outcome. lol Superb guitar work.

  • great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sounds like Journey's guitarist who went out on his own a few years ago.Neal Schon's first solo LP......Dynamic girl.Did she make big?

  • Nori Bucci, Incredible, love your work!

  • This girl is awesome. Her playing has so much feeling. I can't stop watching her videos. Excellent!!!!!

  • oops, i forgot about Jennifer Batton

  • by far the best girl guitarist i've ever seen, but also better than very many men guitarists as well.

  • She's a helluva lot better than me. Her phrasing is awesome. I'd much rather listen to her than Vai, Satch, or Petrucci. I didn't Mention EJ for a reason ;)

  • she kinda looks like yanni, but plays crazy good.

  • She's one of the best guitar players I've ever heard. Does anyone know what she's doing these days?

  • This is a Pearl Jam Evenflo feel to it in parts. Anyone agree?

  • Why is this woman not on a major label with multi platinum albums?

Have you heard the crap that passes for guitar rock these days?

  • I've written a guitar solo inspired almost solely by this song. Check out my vid "Jon Miller - Join The Club" It's a me performing it at a jam night. Any feedback would be welcome :D

Not as good as this though... :P

    Jo

  • Fantastic! Very tasteful, yet fierce playing.

  • Wow! this little lady can really play beautiful stuff, parts of this reminded me of Carlos Santana..I'd really like to know how she goes from wearing a white top to a black top and back to a white top in the blink of an eye..how does she do that :-)She's amazing in so many ways..and apparently well liked too.

Thanks for posting this video, last time I saw someone that sexy playing guitar it was Lita Ford, and even she could'nt play as well as Nori.KEEP ON ROCKIN!!!

  • To those who can´t decide if Nori Bucci is a better or worse guitar player...your incapability for recognize talent is evident.Maybe some people need a marketing operation to choose their cultural heroes, but I don´t.Let me tell you that Nori Bucci is a guitar player of the highest caliber. She can match the playing of many top world players, just because that is what she is.Watch, learn and enjoy.

  • @lookxpress I totally agree she is up with the likes of hendrix, batten etc absolutly superb both technically and puts emotion into her playing

  • Nori,

you are wonderful. I love the way you play. I'm 57 and can learn a lot from you. Thanks so much.

  • this is mi fav gamalon, great soul in there

    and awesome guitarring!

    Jo

  • Talent ! A Fusion Monster ... An MVP next, for sure !!!

  • Nori is an inspiration. There aren't many female role models in the guitar arena and she definitely is a trailblazer. It sounds improvised but feels like it had months of study and practice behind it. No one stumbles upon what she just played. What a great performance!

  • Virtuoso Women Rule!Nothing in the Universe like them. Sarasvati The goddess of Wisdom Plays stringed instruments to captivate our Hearts and Minds. This Gamalon Gal is a Goddess.

  • Great feeling, great tone! What more could you ask for?

  • sweet - i quit guitar

  • shit she's better than me, there goes all my shovanism

  • Fantastic guitarist, but how come her top changes colour half way through?

  • u r right - what is up w that

  • she is so good, that she can change wardrobe halfway thru the song without you noticing.

  • Nori is the BEST guitarist in the world!!! And a great songwriter (as heard in this song) and a great vocalist also!

  • I grew up with Nori. :) at least someone in our class is doing something actually cool :)

  • bodge012 jealous?

  • I used to play this kinda stuff all the time back when I was a guitarist but... since being a male I got no recognition for it :P

  • When you play good music, the gender is indiferent... since you didn't get recognition for what you played I can only reach one conclusion: you didn't play good music at all!

  • Well I played fusion/rock... Gambale is abit too unknown for playing that style also. Very perceptive btw.

  • KICC ASS NORI IS FIRE!!!!

  • oh yeah! you can definitely hear the Paul Gilbert influence!

  • I really enjoy this tune. She's very talented. But G3? Just because she's a good female guitar player doesn't mean she's on the same level as Vai, Satriani, Petrucci, etc. In fact, elevating her to that level for the sole reason that she is a female is sexist.

  • Well said

  • The fact that she is a good guitarist does not exempt her from criticism. She still has flaws. Yes, she is very good. BUT, I would ilke to hear anyone say that her vibrato is not the weakest part of her technique, and I challenge anyone to prove, demonstrably, that her vibrato is not lacking.

  • You are an idiot that does not know what he is talking about.

  • Who told you you had right to criticize anything about this music?

  • Hey Voodoo you seem to believe you know what you are talking about and now you offer a challenge to show that her vibrato is not lacking. The problem is that there is no way to prove if it is lacking or not. The point that I have been attempting to penetrate the paint by numbers box you appear to be confined to, is that art can never be confined to a statement of good and bad. The good and bad only exist in one's own mind.

  • i like it

  • seems like voodoo is a no go with women musicians pissed off because your technique orstyle or just plain skill is inferior too fucking bad

  • There are plenty of people this good. Check out Daniel Gottardo - he wipes the floor with her. People are freaking out over her because it's unusual to see a female guitarist get this good. Tbh, with vibrato like that it is all obviously learnt. She is still a brilliant guitarist, but certainly not worthy of G3 LOL

  • Cont.. When I do something for fun, I generally still care about how well I do it. I'm not someone who excuses something being crap by saying "Oh, it's fun." THis is a technical display open to technical discussion, and I brought up a valid technical point.

  • Why is she not famous? If the music business were fair, she would be rewarded for her tremendous skill and talent. Great player, male or female. I personally like this type of fusion playing better than rockers everbody says are the best players. In my opinion, a really hot fusion player like Nori, Greg Howe or Shawn Lane are (or were) the best players in the world. Not to mention, she is a total angel - check out her web site at noribucci dot com.

  • That was Awesome. Great Video.

  • That's Five stars there!!!

  • Now that's more like it! A chic that plays ripping guitar;). We want more of this in the music industry, and I mean publicly! Just excellent!

  • Great player. There's nothing wrong with her vibrato or her technique. Rock on!

  • Amazing performance and live too! Bravo! The vibrato holds more merit than many comments have displayed, mostly because it is not the canned smooth mild cheddar type (many players confine themselves because that is what what they were told) I applaud getting out of the box and performing more than the same old flavors of vibrato.

  • That is a fantastic piece of composition.

  • the guitarist has long hair, so they are obviously MALE :P nice stuff

  • Well, two things. First of all, she's fantastic, obviously. But 1/ Can you tell us where/who she's playing with these days... where and when can we see her live? and 2/ Is there any chance you could upload the full Feb 24 show, or even better, the full club evolution show to google video as you did with the 17th show? That would be awesome, thanks, and if not, thanks for sharing these clips anyway. I really appreciate being able to discover her through you.

  • Nice! How old is she?

  • It says on her myspace....check it out for 4 full-length tunes!

  • Good player, but her vibrato is very poor. She really needs to smooth it out. I found it uncomfortable to listen to, ruining an otherwise awesome performance.

  • Maybe not your flavor of vibrato but most likely executed with perfect precision.

  • What on earth do you mean!? Regardless, it's terrible vibrato. Precise or not, it's plain bad and is a weakness in her technique.

  • Are you are some sort of authority on the proper execution of all varieties of vibrato?

  • I'm always amazed at guys like you guitar brings out your own style and either peeps like it or they don't if we all play and sound the same (technique etc.)then one of us isn't needed.

  • Ever heard of playing guitar for... fun? It's an abstract concept I know, but some of us couldn't give a shit about "proper" vibrato or any other pedantic crap like that. Spare us your professional critique, your opinion isn't valid on the count of you being a tosser.

  • Erm, right... People on here are not saying "Wow! Look how much she's enjoying herself!" They're saying "Wow! Look at hyer technique! Look at how well she plays!" Thus the matter prompts a discussion from a technical poiint of view. From a technical point of view, her vibrato is bad. Obviously your technique is similarly lacking, and you seek to justify it with "Oh. I'm having fun - it doesn't matter."

  • Mate, people are enjoying this simply because she's a good guitarist. I honestly don't give a shit about where her - or my own - technique is lacking, I simply enjoy listening to her play. If you can't enjoy it simply because her vibrato technique isn't up to your stupidly high standards, then I really do feel for you. What a boring way to look at music.

  • YES!

  • So is voodoo ever going to post a video up with any substance where his mouth is, like maybe a vibrato clinic that demonstrates how his method is superior to everyone else. Vibrato is like a flovor of ice cream just because one doesn't like vanilla doesn't mean it is a "bad" flavor or that it is made badly. It is this kind of mind set that inhibits growth. Technically you can have even more fun when you are not constrained limits of flavor.

  • Cunt. You obviously have a very low IQ. I have fun playing guitar, and I do it well. So fuck you.

  • ha! she is good isn't she? you know people thought Yngwie'svibrato was poor to begin with! turned out to be you know....HIS thing.....

  • a little manic yes...but the speed and execution makes up for the vib.

  • Wow.....Thank God for YouTube for letting us see talent like this that we might not have ever seen otherwise . Beside her great talent , she is very easy on the eyes. (VERY) !!

  • Tasty chops!

  • Lo and behold: Lady Shreddelia! This is so much better than a lot of guitar licks I've heard recently. There's balance in her playing, something that many otherwise good solo guitarists could try sometimes.

  • I've got all the Gamalon CDs... good stuff. didn't know they still played... Nori burns. They gotta get down to NYC

  • Beautiful peace of music.

Hahaha...noteworthy ? Pleeeeeeeeeeease, learn some music, kiddo!

  • I love nori....She rox out loud...lol!!!! I need to c her in concert!!!!!

  • YEAH! More girl-tarists in the world! Kick ass and keep playing!

  • Man I love this song. It would definitely be on a "desert island disc"

  • Nice playing.She can wail.

  • What a boring song. Guitar skill or not, that was hardly noteworthy music. I could see it on the soundtrack to an 80's kids movie.

  • just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it isn't noteworthy music. Keep your negative opinions to yourself. its that kind of condescension that makes girls not want to start guitar in the first place.

  • No, fuck that. Skill does not mean that the music made is worth hearing. Fact of the matter is, I don't like this music, but I appreciate this woman is a talented guitar player. How about instead of me keeping my opinions to myself, you stop being offended for someone else, when they clearly don't need you to defend them.

  • I would love to see her play on the G3 tour with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Excellent playing.

  • imho, her playing stands on its own merit. she's playing tasty stuff.

  • thumbs up! :)

  • She has great control of that guitar and is flat out playing the crap out of it. Yikes! that is some killer playing. I'd say she is in the upper stratosphere of electric guitar players of either gender

  • Absolutely. I have been playing for 20 years but I am completely unschooled. It's not like I can't play but Nori is in another stratosphere. In my mind she should be on stage with Satch and Vai as part of G3 and she would not be out of place (like when I saw G3 in Montreal and the 3rd guitar player was Michel Cusson of UZEB - good guitar player but out of his league with Satch and Vai around - Nori is in their league...)

Not a great guitar player for a woman - just a great guitar player.

  • Nori is G3 League ? ha ha this comment proves that Youtube is full of wannabes who know hardly anything about guitar playing.

Must be the stupidist comment ive ever seen.

  • FINALLY. A female guitarist.

    I lvoe it!

  • These guys are great!

  • How does she change her clothes so fast throughout this song??

  • Very cool, love the tone of the guitar and you have really great chops. Keep rockin!

  • good playing .not my style of music, but she does it well

  • God, i love this woman. really stylish playing.

Her son will be one lucky kid.

  • When is Nori coming to Australia?

  • great technique, and very melodic, sounds like music, not just a bunch of notes..can we hear more?

  • This is the first female rock guitarist whose ever come close to melting my face off! She is superb and knocks those robotic Korean girls into a cocked hat. A real pleasure to hear and to see.

  • Dammit Girl, you really have the dots to be a Admirable Guitarist. Nice tecnique, groove, feeling and control, it's all that we need xD.

  • Just listen to the music. Thats all we need do. It's great

  • She can play really well, so leave it at that.

Why do we have to keep adding that she's hot??

Listen to her play, she's not trying to be Britney Spears, man.

  • She Is Amazing! I Wish There Were More Hot Chicks That Played Guitar!

  • She plays the guitar way good. And someone should really work hard to play that good, and I appreciate her work. But I personally think that a guitar, especially when it is "rock" genre that is being played, does not fit to a woman's hands. Of course that is my own perspective.

  • Are you an idiot? That's an idiotic thing to say. I think you're pissed that this girl is talented. What a shallow perspective.

  • Very well she plays; hang with her I cannot.

  • Awesome :)

  • i've been a gamalon fan for about 9 years now. she is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot! i could watch her play all day.

  • She changes clothes fast, ROFL.

Killer licks, I'd love to jam with her sometime.

  • She plays Great... good band all around in fact. Know what was really amazing? The fact that she changed her clothes five times during the song! Kept alternating the white tee shirt with the black top! It was like magic! lol...Guess they spliced two different nights together to get different camera angles, eh?

  • killer sound...never under estimate SOUND...and...ah...she's pretty hot!

  • I wish more girls were as good as her at guitar.

  • STRONG! Great tune. This band should be bigger than just local and should playing to bigger audiences...

  • nice!

  • REALLYYY COOL

    I LOVE HER

  • thats a lot of paul gilbert licks lol !! but Cool

  • wow shes awsome! ..i wish more people played like her too

  • Best guitarest in New York argueably whole east coast male or female , sings too, Ck out her cd's at NoriBucci.com perfection

  • Jeez... I wish there were more women that could play guitar with actual profiency like her... o_O

  • I think you mean more people ?

  • No, he probably means more women. Plenty of guys play guitar out there. The guy was encouraging the idea that more women should play too. There's some weird stigma about women playing guitar well, probably from other women, becuase men seem to adore it. I'd love it if I could meet a girl who shared my passion for playing, but it's rare to meet a woman like that.

  • wow.......she fucking pwns =D
