  • smells like monarch programming to me...

  • She didn't die on sprawled on the bathroom floor with pills scattered all around her. When her gay husband Mickey Deans found her she was seated on the toilet, slumped over, dead.

  • To say this is dramatic and stupid and dumb, stupid, false, idiotic, and does not showcase Judy's sense of humor about life in itself would be an understatement. For goodness sakes the women was not this sad and ominous as we make her out to be get over even she must be right now "Over The Rainbow" thinking what the hell is this sad crap?!?

  • The tragic tale of fame and fortune told over and over again. Money and stardom do not buy happiness and love. It's sad...because even if her marriages failed (which so many of ours do) at least she had her children. Children can be one of the best sources of love and happiness there is. It's a shame she didn't realize that.

  • @shawnielee1976 Except this is not a tale of fame and fortune. Clearly you know NOTHING about this woman. First of all, Judy died in debt because of the mismanaging and misappropriating of her salary from the earliest days of her career. People swindled and made millions off of her. Second, she loved her children and they loved her just the same. And it's people like you who perpetuate the untrue myths of her life. Do us all a favor and cease the spreading of your ignorance.

  • @TwelveToneRow WTF? They were being nice you tool!

  • @Hereistmoi Nice?! HOW? They were insulting her! You are an imbecile.

  • This "documentary" is gaping mouthed prurient minded unsympathetic sensationalist crap. Nothing to see here people move along. I was curious but less than a minute into this video and I don't want to hear their conjectures about her death. These bozos are clueless. It doesn't matter that much after all. She was great that's what matters. Better to watch clips of her doing what she is remembered for.

  • i loved Her! When I First Saw The Wizard Of Oz When I Was Six, I Thought She Was An Amazing Actress. But I guess She's Over Her Own Rainbow!

  • Anyone else notice the snowflake video time marker? I did.

  • @BlackStarPrincess100 I know and me too i cried when she died :(

  • Judy Garland was murdered ! just go look up randy quaids 'star whackers' video.

do you think it is a coincidence so many celebrities have died in this way ? even today .. and celebrities are running away or dying from the same way ?

heath ledger, michael jackson, brittany murphy ..

that actor who played the kid in the goonies, committing suicide because he was child molested by evil jewish hollywood moguls.

evil child abusing cult, not just hollywood, 'operation monarch' in the whitehouse

  • @Communist2012 she wasent murderd that was marilyn monroe your stupid just because a lot of celebrities died this way dosent mean they were murderd

  • @Panchoaccordionysax Well then how do you explain it? A curse? Look at them all, as famous as Elvis Presley and as recent as Britanny Murphy, dead in the bathroom of either supposed pills or heart/organ/respiratory problems or a combination of both and no coroners ever make up their minds as to the exact cause and the news reports are always muddy and there's always police in the scene to investigate(more like clean up evidence).

  • I feel so bad for her. Someone with the amazing talent and beauty that she had shouldn't have been treated like this. All thanks to her ugly, greedy mother. We love Judy! Remember you're always a star in our eyes. R.I.P Miss Show Business.

  • This starts off with WRONG INFORMATION ! It said Judy died from mixing barbituates with Alcohol- she did not die from that- It was an incaution overdose - she just took to many pills at night - she forgot how many she took after years of not being able to sleep- just wanted to clear the fact it was not booze mixed with pills........

  • Death at the creepy over the top Stephen King funhouse music

  • Oh my goodness I feel so sorry for her :(

  • Unfortunately Linday Lohan is the next Judy Garland. Both beautiful, talented, horrible families/backgrounds, started out in show business as little girls, became drug addicts because of family and show business, have gotten into alot of trouble, and looked much better they way they did before. Let's just hope Lindsay doesn't suffer the same fait as Judy and dies. I still love Lindsay I remember that beautiful talented redhead. Let's pray she finds the right path.

  • Judy was a beautiful baby.

  • Comment removed

  • Judy looked very pretty before the later shots of her.:/ It's sad how people like that end up destroying themselves basically because of situations such as these.

  • thats just sad

  • the narrator is obviously from Scotland. Sad tale of Judy--but we also must remember she loved to entertain in spite of her evil Mother's machinations. And we have all these wonderful movies of her--so Judy has triumphed over the users in her life.

  • when she was cast as Dorothy she was but 16. The producers would give her meth in a pill form to get her up & going. Then sleeping pills to wind her down so she could be rested. Then give her pain killers because they painfully taped down her breast under the costume to make her apear more younger for her role, since Dorothys character is only supposed to be about 11 or 12. It went down hill from there. A very high & miserable price she paid behind a Little girl with pig tails. R.I.P Judy.

  • R.I.P judy garland I wish she had never done this i admired her scince i was 4 and i was her costume for holloween for when i first saw her act in wizard of Oz

  • comments and then my profile:

Judy Garland - Over The Rainbow (Subtitiles)

  • it must be so tragic to be so rich. i'd probably cope with it by kicking back on my island beach with my Pina Colada and watch the tide roll.

  • Comment removed

  • So... Ethel Gumm was basically Rose from Gypsy.

  • Not only that her parent's disappointment for not a boy? ... damn... I see it hoe it began....

  • @LicorniaGoddess09 Her dad got over it and actually showed love and support to Judy, unlike her evil mother.

  • I love Judy Garland, she is a most beautiful Actress I've ever saw. Ever since I saw Wizard of Oz, I was amazed by her. But yes she did have a hard life that she have been through.. Yeah you may say that she is heartless, but she was lost due to the point, mess Hollywood destroyed her self worth....

  • the one thing I don't agree with here is the announcer saying that Judy once said that she never really loved anyone very much, including her own children. Her children AND her audience were her life!

to say that Judy never loved her own children very much, makes it sound like Judy was heartless when in fact, Judy had more heart than any other entertainer out there!

  • @ShawnActor Absolutely. I read that Judy would often speak wonderfully about her children and vice versa. Even today, they'd proudly speak about how she was great entertainer and a great mother.

  • I wish I could hug her pain away

  • As Lorna Luft (Her Daughter) would say. When people say she is so tragic what a tragic figure they did not know her at all. Ones who did know her will say she was one of the funniest, hardest working, good natured, innocent women theyd ever known

  • a gemini - she was looking all over - she should have looked inside....

sad how they drugged her from childhood - hollywood will eat the strongest soul...

  • Looks like the wizard couldn't save her that day huh! LOL

  • The best female entertainer ever lived she was so amazing there is no one like her now.

  • @MsFanmail what about marilyn monroe? think she comes first :p

  • Judy...We all loved you..we really did... and still do.

  • Well no matter what people or the media says, I will honestly say Judy Garland was and still is beautiful... im just saying :)

  • OK, I dont say mean stuff much, but if she REALLY didnt love her kids, then Judy, you freaking need to realized that children depend on love and you should have thought of your children instead of yourself for once, you needed to think of what THEY need!!!

  • this documentry is freaky it makes her sound like she was forced drugs down her throat everyday and was forced to dance and diet her whole entire life im sure she had some happy years to keeep that lovely voice and gawjus looks xx r.i.p judy garland xxxx

  • this isnt real because thay talk about her and what she did in her carrer when she was 50 so how did she die when she was 48 YOU CANT EXACTLY .

  • LOL I saw Hitler!

  • Aren't some scenes of Judy Garland "fake"?

  • You say L.B.Mayer did not kill Judy.He abused her sexually any one that know about this alone knows its effects.Judy plowed through it tho. They loaded her with ups and downs, the people at M.G.M .She tried to stop on her own and at that point in time there was no real place to help her properly. She was 4 foot 11 inches and most of her life weigh 98 pounds.GOD what a powerhouse. We should not know any of her personal business.R.I.P. Judy Garland.. Love Barb...

  • Same thing happened to Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys and Michael Jackson. It is usually the parents who drive their children for their own personal gain and fortune.

  • Can someone tell me what show she sung the version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow at 2:05 she sounds amazing

  • I don't beleive it was suiside, she said that ahe was happier than ever now that she had Mickey!

  • amazing what i'm seeing here is a girl who never had a real childhood, thanks to her mother, and then in teenage years forced to play a part in the wizard of oz that was very childish and clearly meant for a much younger actor

all in all a case i call reverse childhood in which the human is forced to either experience childhood at the wrong time or never allowed to have a childhood

  • A very unhappy but difficult person.

  • Ummmm can someone explain this to me????don't seem to get it that much

  • 0h my gosh how terrible!RIP

  • Same thing happened to Shirley Temple.

  • @southpark3003 I don't think Shirley Temple is dead already, is she?

  • @TotoTropical155, no. She goes by the name, Shirley Temple Black, I believe. She works in the government now. I think she's a senator, or something like that.

  • @southpark3003, no, it didn't.

  • @Kari166 yes it did.

  • @southpark3003, no. She was never forced to take uppers and downers. She didn't die, she wasn't sexually harassed, she didn't lose all her money.

  • WHO WAS THE DIRECTOR OF THIS

  • how come her sisters are never mentioned later in her life? were they estranged?

  • What a load of bullshit. "As soon as someone uses the word 'tragic' describing my mother, I know they never met her, never knew her, and certainly had no CLUE as to who she was to us, her children, whom she loved with all her heart."

  • Im trying to cite this for my research paper and i need to know who the director and what year this was done can someone PLEASE help me asap

  • "Well to me it was just 'Depression' that killed her!"

  • the greatest vertue is to make oneself as happy as can be

  • You know, it is just amazing Judy Garland survived to age 47 after surviving somehow, her dragon mother, Louis B. Mayer and all the flunkies that were pushing upper and downers on her--and still become one of the greatest entertainers of our time. . Tthis woman was amazingly strong. But even a good engine goes out after repeated abuse, and yes, some of it was Judy's as well. As RayBolger said so appropriately "She just plain wore out."

  • MGM and her mom started her bad life choices. From some witness accounts her mom always called her fat and pig and also made her wear an extremely tight girdle even though her little extra weight wasn't noticeable! SHE *IS* beautiful and is still missed, R.I.P Frances Ethel Gumm (AKA Judy Garland)

  • WARNING:if u look into the mirror in a dark room u will see bloody marry i tried it and she threw my computer to my t.v. it was so SCARY :O :O :O :O :O

  • @07Disneygrl Mayer certainly helped the process along, supplying plenty of drugs, victimizing her with sexual harassment, belittling her because he thought it kept her in line. It didn't do a thing for her ego, and it probably helped drive her the low self-esteem that led to substance abuse.

  • this shows production is horrible

  • helloo

  • hi

  • She looked quite old toward the end- --too old for one under 50. I wished that someone could've saved her. I wished that she could've saved herself.

  • People can have everything in the world and there still junky no willpower

  • this is really sad and to tell you the truth her name is francis ethel gumm and she is my great aunt and i swear im not lying please belive me my moms last name is gumm. WE ARE RELATED

  • this is really sad and to tell you the truth her name is francis ethel gumm and she is my great aunt and i swear im not lying please belive me

  • some people just dont understand it all happened cuz of her mom...she pushed her and pushd her till she was pushed to the edge!!!!!!!!!!duhhh and anyone that was famous back then all die of the same stuff poppin pills and alcohol abuse. this is what most ppl die from and is still the main reasons how ppl are dyin today.... AND IF NONE OF YOU KNEW HER MOOM WAS A FULLBLOWN WHORE WHO USED HER KIDS TO BRING HER IN THE MONEY................HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Judy Garland killed herself but i dont know why and how she killed herself.

I love watching her movies she was so talented she should have never done

    that!!!

  • judy was the greatest female performer ever no one can replace her. what that studio did to her was so bad she would have still been alive now if it was'nt for the drugs. RIP JUDY...............

  • Judy is amazing. It really saddens me to see her so ill. What a legend. Those people who damaged and stole from her will all pay. There will never be another Judy Garland.

  • her mom looks like sybils mom.

  • The mix of an unloving mother, pills, alcohol, abortion and the need for affirmation all conspired to ruin a gifted and talented star.

  • Bonjour,

Personne (sauf les intimes... et encore...) ne pourra répondre à cette grave question :

    Kathryn Grayson : 9 February 1922 - 17 February 2010 (natural causes) AND

    Judy Garland : 10 June 1922 - June 22, 1969 (age 47)

    BYE ...

  • This is SO SAD I just want to cry.

  • i miss her lol i have wizard of oz ontape i always watch it :)

  • she went out like a elvis

  • @neoarcadezr No no no.... elvis went out like JUDY. Judy in '69, elvis in' 77.

  • @kyblueeyes85 yea ur right but i didnt mean it like by year i was just saying they died the same way

  • Comment removed

  • Judy was little Francis Gumm inside always having to put on the show of Judy Garland, but that leads tot he sort of narcissism evident in her saying she only loved herself. Because like Narcissus in the water, she didn't recognize it as herself. NPD is marked by a false-self, unlike egotism which is undue focus on the real self. She was a real head case. Kids were slaves back then. Now parents are slaves to their kids. Any better? No.

  • why are they making it seem like her life was some big depressing TRAGIC excuse for a life? anyone remember her song "Get Happy"? im sure that it wasnt just words...

  • @simonea214 Well, alcoholics and druggies can live 2 separate lives. The life that everyone sees might look all rosy, but the life behind closed doors can the be exact opposite.

  • She didn't commit suicide. It was deemed an accidental death because she had taken pills and fallen asleep and woke up feeling sick and forgot how much she had taken and took more. That occurs often especially with things like sleeping pills. Her death was so very tragic and I wish everyday that she could have lived longer and maybe would have found the love that she so deeply desired. Judy is an icon and a legend, and will forever be misssed and my hero.

  • if ur too famous at those days then youll die young, jus like elvis and minroe

  • i feel so bad she was my favorite actor she sang so wonderfully

  • Life, and especially human beings.......suck.

  • She was not found on the floor. Her husband Mickey found her. The bathroom door was locked, he went outside and climbed in the window and found her seated with her head down, resting on her chest. Don't confuse them: Elivs was on the floor. Judy was on the loo.

  • Wow the make her mother sound like the wicked witch of the west

  • what a lot of mumbo jumbo. lousy journalism. well cant be called journalism. just a sensationalist collection of no bodyies trying to act like somebodies by claiming to know all about judy garland and what made her tick. rubbish. judy definitely had demons and addictions, but her life was not one long rollercoaster of despair. she had ups and downs, and some of her ups and some of the downs may have been extreme. but she had joy, she adored her kids. she brought pleasure to millions.

  • For real insight into how bad it was for her, read Judy Garland by Anne Edwards. It makes you want to string those 2 vultures up by their privates and let the vultures at them. A mother is supposed to protect her child not abuse them or allow others to abuse them. Judy never had a chance.

  • To bad she is not here to defend herself

  • These people always re-enforce the old addicted to Pills & booze. When is there going to be the truth and a "happy medium" where they will tell the true story of this Great legend? We all know she had her own personal demons but what about all the joy and success this woman had? The joy her talent brought to millions of people & that her talent, which to this very day is garnering more & more fans. A true journalist tells the whole story not just the same old info from other bios on her life.

  • Its interesting. Judy near the end looked exactly like the "French Garland" Edith Piaf

  • Comment removed

  • she looked very old for a 40 year old D:

  • @aznshoji 47 but yeah she looked MUCH older than she really was... she was 47 but yeat looked like a 60 year old...

that`s what the mix of drugs and alcohol do to you...

  • @aznshoji

i was going to say the same thing dude

  • This is shit and bad journalism. Its a very simple equasion: loose you childhood, spend your life trying to recapture the impossible. Fill a void that cannot be filled.

  • Part 1 of Comment: Wow.... worst Judy Documentary ever! This is exactly what Lorna Luft and Liza Minnelli are talking about, everyone says her life is so tragic... and they're wrong! AMTProductionCo Is exactly right, first of all, she died on the toilet, not on the floor, and Judy NEVER said that she did not love her children. Those children were her entire world!

  • Part 2 of Comment: These people don't know whack about Judy. And why use the weird people standing on the stage and you can only see their backs, while they're terribly singing Over the Rainbow? & BetteDavisMimic, although Louis B. Mayer certainly did do that. He cannot Be blamed, nobody knew they were bad, Judy Can't be blamed, and neither can MGM. It was fate. And PuffPuffy is right, this is a stupid documentary.

    --Logan

  • What the heck is up with that creepy music??...What a stupid documentary.

  • WARNING! This is NOT accurate! Many MANY facts are confused, or false! Who are these people speaking anyways? They are NOT Judy Garland experts.

  • @AMTProductionCo and u r?

  • @YankeeDoodlePoodle I am a Judy Garland fan/historian. I have appeared on many radio talk and online talk shows, and am a great friend of John Fricke, the Judy Garland historian/author/etc. He and I talked much about this documentary. He was asked to appear on this documentary but turned down the offer. Wise decision. He and I have debunked some of the "events" that are shown in this.

  • One of many supremely talented individuals destroyed by drugs.

  • This is what killed judy garland that asshole louis b mayer and that bitch of a mother she had. They did nothing but work her and work her work her, those damn pills destroyed her life, she was being pulled in so many directions at once she didnt know if she was coming or going. It's so sad that should couldnt even enjoy her life , I really think that if she could have just taken a break to rest maybe she would still be here

  • @keanufan09 Yes, it was all THEIR fault. Actually, that was just the story Judy told herself and anyone else who would listen, in order to absolve herself of all blame for her catastrophic life. Judy was, quite simply, full of shit.

  • 47? Good lord, she looked more like 74. I hope Judy has finally found her peace...

  • not judy

  • thts harsh....no 1 is talentless not even judys evil mother!

  • My grandmother was a doctor and when Marilyn Monroe died from an overdose of Seconal, she warned me about this. She told me that in the old days people would take their sleeping pills and have a glass of wine with it but "now we know that this is a dangerous practice and don't do it anymore". The margin between the hypnotic and the lethal dose is small. This is why in the '60s people would accidentally OD because they would take barbs, wake up, forget that they took them, take some more and OD.

  • at only 47 she looked horribly overaged and worn

  • this is my 3rd time seeing this and every time i do it still gives me the creeps. just the music and the mood.

but god bless Judy Garland . Rest in peace

  • i greatfully pity her. she was only young when she rolled in the wizard of oz and the director kept on making her take pills to keep her looking young.. which is very dangerous and because of all of this pressure.. no wonder she od'd she will be sadly missed and was possibly better than marylin monroe

  • I just get a not so nice feeling from this documentary. I just feel like these people are enjoying the demons and tragedies in her life like it was some exciting soap opera or murder mystery. Like they are getting off on it. I know people should know the truth but I don't know this is just disturbing me somehow.

  • i agree.

  • its not as tragic as they are making it seem.

  • judy was achild prodigy. Her mother is the one who started her on uppers and downers when she was 10 years old. ethel gumm wanted one of her talented girls to become famous. But judy by far was the most talented.but sadly her tlent was so overwelming, and the fact that she had terrible self esteem, was one of her great problems forever, sadly judy never stood a chance, She was the greatest singer of the 20th century. she was divine

  • I watched the movie about her life and I didn't realize things were so horrible. Sad.

  • This is sad. A lost soul who never was able to escape :(

  • From one who has read all the books and seen all the shows, Judy didn't mean to kill herself. Her mother was pushy but the studio pushed her harder then anything else. And she could have gotten better but she was so depressed that the drugs always came back.

  • If you want a good account of Judy's life I highly recommend reading Me and My Shadows by Lorna Luft. It really is the best bio of Judy Garland I have ever read. And it gives you more insight to what was going on at home as well as the studios.

  • i wish i could watch the movie..i want to read the book so bad now!

  • also when they did the autopsy on judy it was proven she didn't have long left because the drugs had damaged her kidneys to much, so she was living on borrowed time, even if the overdose hadn't happened, sadly, she wouldn't have been with us much longer, she wouldn't be alive today like mickey rooney

  • Whoever produced this should be taken out and shot. What a sickening hatchet job.

  • This "documentary" is, to borrow a line from Patrick Dennis, a perfect shower of shit. Seldom have so many people been gathered to talk about a subject they know nothing about.

  • so sad, what a great talent lost. RIP

  • i miss both of them mj and judy. i hate suicide why do it?its just depressing

  • Judy never commited suicide

  • @Abcdefg123456789anuu Her death was ruled as an accidental barbiturate overdose.

  • Comment removed

  • Italian guy is right. Her mother wanted her to be a star so badly, she got her hooked on pills, but, MGM had a hand in this too.

  • @jadegreenkaty she started the pills in the wizard of oz, they gave her drugs to make her skinnier thats when she got hooked

  • I love Judy Garland and Michael Jackson!!

  • u shud meet Liza Minelli then. She met both of them. Well michael anymore, I think she may have met Judy x

  • Liza Minnelli (Judy's daughter) would be a cool person to meet!! I have never met MJ. I wanted to meet Michael Jackson so much but it never happened and now he is dead. Liza was friends with MJ.

  • Michael Jackson is dead. I don't believe in the hoax death theory. Michael Jackson was murdered.

  • lol :) wake up hun

u probably also believe that swine flu is real dont you?

"The main point of the mass vaccination is to implant nanotechnology microchips that will allow external manipulation of the body mentally, emotionally and physically - including the so-called 'death chip' that can be used to assassinate targeted people or cause mass extermination."

or that michael moore is on the same side as bush? or tat bush is the 13th cousin of queen elizabeth who runs america via obama now?

  • Why do you say that about MJ? Have you not seen his family crying and upset?? No I don't believe in swin flu no. I agree with you about everything else you say apart from that MJ is alive. Do you/did you know Michael Jackson??

  • @AndreaElizabeth100

You don't believe in the swine flu? So all those that died from it were murdered by some huge conspiracy trying to fool the world or something? You are a paranoid nutcase, nothing more needs to be said. There are far too many mentally ill people roaming around freely believing in all kinds of absurd nonsense. Maybe it's time for eugenics to make a comeback.

  • I don't think Michael Moore is on the same side as Bush.

  • you probably dont know president bush is the queens cousin or obama is related to sadam either.

or the swie flue tamiflu vaccine is full of nanobot remot controls to exterminate people

there many thing u dont know. u tricked. so go back to ur dreamworld, while they murder u in ur sleep, dnt comment me again,

write to me if u want truth

    x

  • what the heck? Do you even pay attention to the news. The swine flu DID exist, but that was in the seventies. There is no evidence that what is going around right now is swine flu, that is why they are giving out H1N1 vaccinations, not swine flu vaccinations.

And they are not to install death chips, they are to instill faith in the Obama administration because they are making it available to the whole nation. And who knows, the vaccine might actually work, but it might not.

  • @AndreaElizabeth100

Why murder a man that had hundreds of millions of fans worldwide and who was a "profitable" artist which his record label could make a lot of money from? Last time I checked he himself insisted on his huge tour and working endlessly to get in shape for it. Nobody wanted him dead, or could have gained anything from it. That's just paranoia.

Neither was Judy Garland nor Marilyn Monroe murdered or any other celebrity save for John Lennon and Sharon Tate.

  • WOAH that is some deep shit

  • Her mother had her on pills before signing with MGM in 1935. Her mother then MGM enhanced her addiction.

  • I think its so funny how hypocritical this documentary is. i love how they have the interview where judy says 'i've never been to a prom' in the same interview she also says about anyone implying she is a tragady and saying she is addicted to pills and alcohol shud be done for slander and don't know wot they are talking about, funny how the documentary doesn't add her saying that, probAbly because this documentary is saying just that.

  • Thank you

  • she was 47 she was a overdose

  • she looked old before her time at the time she died.what a waste.

  • what killed judy????? three words friends.....LOUIS B MAYER......may that fucker rot in hell for what he did to a defenseless young girl who had no way to fight back......hook someone on drugs and use them til your done and charge them for a stay at a hospital to recover? you know what THAT is kids?????? that's a FUCKING PIMP and that's what Mayer and mamma Gumm were.....FUCKING PIMPS! doesn't matter how you dress them up a PIMP is still a PIMP
