  • Man, they're really good live. That's awesome.

  • THIS IS INDIE!

  • anybody who says this sounds like teen spirit is an idiot. its a higher key. its not even the same tune. smells like teen spirit is a lot faster. hutch sounds nothing like kurt cobain. the drum beat is different. the rhythm is different. theyre somewhat similar, but you could say that about most pop punk songs and youd be somewhat correct. its a stupid argument, and a bad accusation against an awesome band.

  • smells like teen spirit was a rip of of a pixies song, kurt said so himself Im a major nirvana pixies n thermals fan I play guitar n this song is not a rip off, peace

  • Holy crap. I never noticed that before, but I can definitely hear it now.

  • Hmmm, I'ma go listen to that after and see.

  • Sorry, but you're wrong. Smells Like Teen Spirit goes

    F# B G# C#

I Might Need You To Kill goes

    D F# B A

It is in a higher key, but the intervals are different. Please think before asserting things that aren't true!

  • There are slight auditory similarities, but they don't sound EXACTLY the SAME, nor is there anything "the SAME" shared between the two songs. The two songs are written and sound quite fucking different.

  • Get over the fact that this song copied off of "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Just get over it!!

  • I think you need to get over the fact that you're wrong..

  • actually if it sounds like any nirvana song it would be "drain you"

  • lol if you want you can say this to any song

    "sounds a bit like ..."

and these are two totally different songs, the chords arent nearly the same (i play guitar myself)

  • different keys, intervals, voicing, tempo, and timing.

    don't hear it at all.

  • who cares about what genre we want to pt them in these guys kick major ass!!!

  • right on, brother!

  • Cool xayest, im glad thats cleared up, their not doing anything new, but they do it sooo well, hard to pick a fav song, flawless album. Have u heard the "channels", they fall in a similar category, their last lp is so brilliant, i think u would like them. peace

  • we'll they're kind punk, i guess it's fair to call em' a post-punk band

  • @caleidonauta THIS IS INDIE FOR GOD SAKE

  • this is brill, thermals rule, best punk album of the last decade

  • Wait. I'm sorry. Did you just call The Thermals "punk"? ...

  • to me they r everything a punk band should be, i was just give'em props, why r u over analyzing, they r on a independent label, i'm just gettin the word out, be cool brother, peace

  • didn't this album was released on 2006?

  • yes it was released 2006, by last decade i meant, this is 1 of my fav albums of its type in the last 10 years, why the ridicule?, i call them punk, u can call em what u like, cool? im excited bout them!

  • Within the past month I have bathed in the glory that is the Thermals. You are right to cast them within the genre of punk. I am just surprised because I have never found myself to be an ardent fan of anyone overly "punk" until now. Though, my favorite track off the album has got to be Returning to the Fold. God please The Thermals.

  • Cool xayest, im glad thats cleared up, their not doing anything new, but they do it sooo well, hard to pick a fav song, flawless album. Have u heard the "channels", they fall in a similar category, their last lp is brilliant, i think u would like them. peace
