How is this a "das" keyboard? Das keyboards are mechanical keyboards by "das". What makes it a "das" and not a "filco" or "leopold" or "irocks" or any other mechanical brand?

DAS means any one of the das keyboards whether they have rubber dome, cherry mx brown or cherry mx blue switches or lettered/blank keycaps.

ALL otakus are blank

NOT ALL das are blank.

das keyboard uses cherry mx keys, this isn't the same thing AT ALL, the feel is 100x better on the das keyboard, but nice mod nonetheless.

Why did you pain the keys? It would have looked nicer if you had different coloured keys but now the lettering is hardly visible. Even though you may not need to look at the keys.

You can order actual blank black keys from Unicomp (google it) for it when that black paint inevitably wears off your keys.

About the screwdriver thing ... you can just use the ghetto method which works just as well (that's how I actually opened mine up).

Just take a narrow plastic ballpen, put the tip in flames (might be smart to remove the mine/lead before) so the plastic gets slighty liquid or even light up, push it against one of the screws, wait a few seconds ... and there you go ... your personal model M opening tool :D
