I love this movie and I love everyone in it, they just did such a great job! (Especially since I refuse to read the original because I hate sad endings!)

When Gary and Demi acts I absolutely feel it. I cry in disbelief. How could these actors can do such scenes like it's very real. BEST MOVIE EVER.

This scene is ri-freakin-diculous.Demi and Gary are, yes, two attractive folk, but please, the cheesy music, the "hands running through the grains," and, sweet baby jesus, the whole black girl with candle and red bird "symbolism?" How can any even semi-reasonable person consider this sensual? Seriously, the "liberties" the movie takes with the book are one thing, but this...is just bad.
I am sure the bird scene was very representative. The red bird maybe means passion and freedom. The girl is very innocent, so I am sure it is not meant to be anything sick or odd.
As beautiful as the scene is, I don't get the point of the girl bathing... and i don't like hearing Hester's every breath... hahaha... Wonderful movie, though!

Most beautiful love scene in film history! What I love about it is that most love scenes you see on film are just done with a rushed passion. In this scene, it's not so much about the desire as well as it is about the love and intimacy between two people and I find that more beautiful than anything.

@momo4895 yes, although I don't go to church... I believe that to be a christian you don't HAVE to go to church, you can pray and read the bible, even though once in a while I do go to church. every day at every meal I say grace, even at lunch, and I pray before I go to bed. I have a lot of medical issues and we still haven't found answers yet, and when I pray it keeps me strong (mentally) and it makes most of the pain go away. :) p.s im in the 10th grade :)
This is a horrendous movie but how hot Gary is in it makes up for the WHOLE thing
