I just saw them on display in the NC Furniture Market last week. The factory is advising me that these will be available in the US sometime in 2011; there are still some changes being made from the first versions. Sale prices will probably be $2000 to $2500. Of course it's an illusion. It certainly isn't real flames or smoke. That's the whole point.

The Optimyst flame effect is created by the illumination of atomised water which is stored in a concealed water tank. Very simple but also very clever. The flame effect has virtually no moving parts and runs silent.

Wow! Is the Opti-Myst available on the retail market yet? I've not been able to locate these anyplace online. After 12 years I'm doing away with a small gas fireplace unit that has become 2 high maintenance and this is the route I want to go.
