  • this was beautiful. what a great performance. the violin is very cool!!!

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • got that right

  • Duh the only one that didn't do heavy drugs in the band was the drummer, obviously thats what did them in but it's also what probably saved their lives.

  • diss them when perry is all f-ed up on heroine perkins and navaro kept this band alive

  • @tool4janes Navaro loved him a little smack just like Perry

  • I LOVE Jane's sooo much. Perry is mailing it in now a days... UGH!! Listen to "recent" performances of this, way different. People think Maynard has mailed it in! FUCK..............

  • Best Song ever. I got the glory of seeing them twice...the second time they played this song and I about fell apart it was so amazing.

  • Thank you soooooooooooooo much for uploading these............... I heart Jane's!

  • jane's was pure magical energy then and they're pure magical energy now. if you get a chance to see them, don't miss them.

  • don't ever diss janes best band from 87 to 92

  • Take the bad times with the greatest times....if you get to hear "then she did" your a lucky M'Fer. (see Vegas 2 days ago)

  • I've loved this song since the first time I heard it in '90 and still love it today. I killed three Ritual cassettes listening to just this tune. Thank God for CDs and mp3s. Saw them in Portland, ME on this tour and it was the best show I think I've ever seen. Then I saw them at Lollapalooza and they were awful. Dave was throwing up in a bucket the whole time.

  • plus if isn't for for janes and perry ther is no lollapalozza or rage or tool or half the fuckin bands that rock today perry inventeded this shit perry rules!!!!

  • gut-wrenching and beautiful and it doesn't seem a 9-minute song at all..

  • Awesome!!!

Where did this vid come from?

  • Sweet!!! I only saw them do this live once. It was fucking amazing, the violin stole it.

  • the violin is like nothing iv ever seen,,and i saw janes at iguanas in TJ in 90

  • sikkk

  • FACE MELTING VIOLIN SOLO!!!!

  • Such a beautiful song, but somehow when I first hear it I didn't like it. Perry experienced tradgedy at such a young age- his mother commited suicide when he was four, and this is what the song is about. It's so powerful as well. When I really listen to it, the energy behind it when it really goes off, the lyrical content, the emotion wreaking finish "Unhappy, just as you were!", it almost makes you cry

  • i didn't like this song at first. i didnt like much of ritual until i saw the songs live. and it all grew on me after awhile and one day this was just my favorite.

  • good version of my favorite Jane's song of all time

  • is ferrel drinking vine?

  • who the hell is that playing the mean violin anyways

  • Morgan Fichter

  • eric's lucky that he didn't get his eye poked out by that violin bow

  • Once upon a time, Jane's Addiction ruled the earth! They were legendary and unstoppable. Thanks for posting this.

  • 91-93' they were pure magic

  • uh dude, they broke up in 91...'86-'91 they were magic!

  • "uh dude" your fan allegiance is second to none. I realize they've been around since 86' but they really captured the magic in my ears and opinion of 91-93. If you disagree, preach to someone who gives a fuck.

  • it's not about "fan allegiance"...it's about not spouting incorrect nonsense...there's already plenty of falso info on the net without wankers like you adding to the pile. i don't care if you don't give a fuck...it's a fact that the original jane's ceased to be a band in 1991. i realise we have a dipshit president who likes to make up facts to fit the situation, but you shouldn't emulate him.

  • "wankers" like me. someone didn't get loved enough as little bitch. Jane's didn't reach their peak until 91, and that lasted until they broke up the first time. They never reached their peak in 86-89' which is why 91-93 was so magical, when they rolled in with "ritual" and lollapolooza. Now get off my nuts asshole.

  • the 90's were a blur anyhow. if you sepnd your time nit-picking every dated comment regarding your beloved band, you really need a life, my wanking loser.

  • Ritual was released August 21, 1990. The band played their final concert September 26, 1991 in Hawai and then went their separate ways. I'm sure the two years that followed were magical in your head, but that might've had more to do with whatever it was you were on at the time.

  • I think the weed clouded some minds!

  • One of the best performance I've ever seen from Jane's Addiction. Thank you for uploading this.
