  • Quick question, i really wanna learn how to play. but alas no Ukulele :,(.

Should i just get a basic one from say Guitar Center? they are like 50-200

idk if i should get a good one just to learn on.

  • I love your beard

  • UR THE MAN!

  • subscribed!! and currently learning on your website :) thank you for the lessons! you are amazing :)))) xx

  • My hands are too small for E major...is there an alternative way of playing that chord? I have tiny hands :(

  • thank you this is soooo helpful! how do you play Cadd9 on the ukelele?

  • @alexandrafugere you're welcome! Cadd9 is played: 0005.

  • you are adorable and helpful, the perfect mix.

  • @NationOfStupidity well said.

    me too and i susbcribe

  • Really helpful, thank you!

  • WHY ARE MY FINGERS SO SHORT!?!?

  • just curious, but is that a concert or tenor uke, seems to have a very nice sustain on it.

thanks for the great lessons too!

  • @rog271 this a tenor ukulele tuned to low G tuning, which probably accounts for the extra sustain.

  • @uketricks when you have time, could you explain the advantages of tuning to low G please?

  • are these chords for baratone ukes?

they dont match the book ??? sorry if stupid question... just learning and trying to teah myself. No guitar experience. Any chance for me?

  • @maryc248 these chords are for ukuleles tuned in standard tuning (GCEA). These chord shapes will sound differently on a baritone ukulele.

  • i'm considering getting a ukulele for christmas and was wondering hmm how hard is it to play, people say that if you can play the guitar, you can play a ukulele and guess what... they were right! this is soo easy i can't wait now :D thanks man!

  • what tuning are you in? i'm pretty sure i'm in standard but not all of these sound the same as yours when i do it

  • @PrenoctopussSejonjon I am in a low G standard tuning. My top G string is tuned down an octave. This is probably the difference you are hearing. The finger position is still the same though regardless. You have a great ear!

  • @uketricks dude thanks, i appreciate it

  • great video man !! very well done :)

  • whats E7? cus i wanna play the song "never forget where im from" /watch?v=Ynzh7uPRWNI&feature=related

seen in the movie Shallow Hal with Jack Black.

  • ....my ears must be busted

  • I can play the guitar but am brand new to the ukulele; this was a fantastic video the learn the chord shapes, very clearly explained. Thanks!

  • I can't my pinky to stretch like that without moving my ring finger:(

  • @lucasmariopeach Its because they share a tendon, you'll get used to it

  • trigger finger :D

  • Great tutorial! Clear instructions and unlike others, no waffle!

  • Thanks for this, it is certainly helping me get use to the different chords and finger placing.

  • amazing video! helped me so much

  • Great tutorial. Got some good songs put together now. ":)

  • i love this tutorial but i couldnt really hear you in parts. Please talk louder.(: you have great tutorials

  • I play bass guitar very well and i learned how to play chords on guitar will the switch to ukulele be quick enough? I understand that it will feel alittle akward with much shorter neck but do i have a advantage over people who cant play any instruments?

  • @BLEACH01Z before I played ukulele, I played guitar and piano. the chords can feel a little weird at first because of the smaller neck and less tension on the strings, but you'll get used to it in no time at all!

  • my hands are so smallll i cant do this at all.

  • my hands are too small for this T.T

  • E major... my pinky can't reach that far... o_O and when it does manage it ends up pressing on the other strings!

  • Yay :) A video that is actually for beginners.

  • thanks for very useful lesson have subscribed

  • pretty good video but too many to remember for a beginer :)

  • Thank you for taking the time to teach an enthusiastic beginner :0)

  • He keeps saying "Yookelele" and not "Oookelele" and it is driving me nuts!

  • @Pablohunni420 It's pronounced Yookelele

  • @Entertainment640 you can pronounce it two ways

  • @Entertainment640 I teach the instrument. I manage a music store. I know how to say it. Don't be a douche.

  • are these chords the same for a soprano ukulele?

  • @CrazyTurtle5 yep!

  • Hey!! I currently play bass but really want to start playing a ukulele!! i have no idea what kind or price to get, i have seen some for £10 and some for £200

    PLEASE HELP

  • @AdamBills Get the cheaper ones to begin with, you should start with a beginner ukulele.

  • ya can u show it again slow please

  • @KittieTheCat Bm is a more difficult chord to play. Make sure you have enough pressure when you bar the bottom three strings. You want your thumb to be right on the back of the neck of the ukulele to help squeeze the strings. It does take some time to build up strength in your hand so keep practicing and in time I think you'll get it!

  • @Ichoos3youpikachu you are welcome! G7 and G major sound a little bit different. A G7 chord is basically a G major chord but the 7th note of a G major scale lowered a half step is added to the chord. If that makes no sense, don't worry about it. It's music theory mumbo-jumbo. :) I would just say make sure you get practice getting comfortable with both chords and you'll be all set.

  • this is so good i bought myself a uke in the summer and its just been sat in my room being neglected, but now i finally decided it was time to learn and this is by far the best beginner's video i've seen. Thank you :)

  • what i dont get i just got this ukelele for christmas and so im new to this thing is there any more simple things because i did not understand this

  • @TheCrazylegs10 very cool on the uke for christmas! hang in there it gets easier. i suggest you head over to my website at ukulele tricks (the link is above in the description) and download my free lesson book. i think it'll really help you out!
