Love Shannon so Glad she never performed with her hair like that..The level 9 and 10s at my gym perform with hair like that and I hate it, there inconsistent on beam because of the big pony tail swinging too the side knocking them off.

You are right!! She does look beautiful with her long hair! The extra beams were for a different routine where Jaycie Phelps, Amanda Borden, and Dominique Moceanu all performed simultaneously on the different beams. It was a really cool performance also!

Yes, they are. Shorter hair or hair pulled back just looks neater (and it might score better better), but there were plently of gymnasts who had pony tails the same size as Shannon Miller BEFORE these Games, AFTER these Games and AT these Games.
