@gewglesux strike king is the only company that makes the red eye shad so no one can really make the best one. unless your asking who makes the best lipless crankbaits which even then still cant be answered

people... I just got back from the Bass proshop in MA.. I love to Crank bait fish, but i have a hard time dealing with Vegitation . so i ended up buying a handful of Red eye's i'lll try then in the spring..... they remind me of "Rattle traps" anyhow..  how they work..

I am not a fan of Strike King at all, as I think that a lot of their baits are lacking in the durability department but I digress. This Red Eye Shad is really nice though. I love the Bluegill pattern up north here in Canada. I am very impressed with its performance . The pump and stop is deadly technique for triggering bites as well as ripping it out of the grass. I would like to try the 3/4 oz model for those summer ledge fishing and see how that works. Kudos to SK on this bait.

Love the "Pump and Stop" Retrieve. It's the only way to properly fish a lipless crankbait. I've caught more bass that way than any other retrieve. The man's a bass fishing genius!!!

@BassinNonStop i use one rod, 1-2 type's of line, and one type of reel. you don't need 5 different kinds for ONE lure, here is my setup, 7' carrot stix gold, **Medium action**, Reel is a Plfleuger Patriarch 7:1:1 LEFT HANDED (i can engage the reel faster, and i don't switch the rod to my other hand) Line *this varies* (shore fishing)10lb Mono usually, Floro when im fishing deeper (line is so inexpensive so switching isn't a big deal) total cost around 300.00

I use all types of rattle traps.

I love using the gizzard shad colored one up here in Michigan, and just ripping it threw the grass. But I have to say my favorite part is when you are ripping it threw the grass and you just rip it out of a patch of grass and WAM a fish hits. (one of my most favorite feelings)
