  • believe it or not, half-reps are still good for working chest. I do them and it is IMO actually more tough than full reps because it puts constant pressure on the chest instead of letting the tri's handle it and less chest stress.

  • Well one thing you dont know is that half reps dont translate into full reps. That is, lack of a full range of motion does not improve strength when you go full range. Just look at the idiots doing squats of 315 and only go down a quarter of the way. Those same guys cant even full squat half the weight because their muscles arent trained over the full range. So no, half reps are NOT good for working chest.

  • half reps meaning not touching your chest.. Too much stress on the shoulder takes place when you go down all the way. Same concept with flys.

    Yea I use a spotter I been training for 12 years natural and the only way to get better is to lift more then you can handle the you can easily lift your goal.

  • is not about the pounding.. strength is meassured on proportions! for example, 100 pounds is a lot of weight for a 150 pound guy compared to what 100 pounds is to a 300 pound guy. 100 pounds is 66% of the bodyweight of the 100 pounds guy while it is 33% of the bodyweight of the 300 pounds guy..
