  • The boy, the boy's in love.

  • this song is amazing. this song is how anyone feels when they have that first feeling of falling inlove

  • i heard this song a few years ago. always been a Pumpkin since the beginning. this tune for me was a find that i feel i always new they had in them somewhere. its the tune they were always suppsoed to play. they are so in their own style and yet diverse. that only they could pull it off. thanks james and co! xxxxx always a pumpkin.

  • I really like this song, even not being in love.

  • Top!

  • This song is also on The Aeroplane Flies High Again box set (extremely rare now). I have the flac music files for it, and still have it on an old recordable 90 minute tape from over 10 years ago.

  • The embers never fade. We'll never forget the original Pumpkins.

  • It took me forever to realize that this was James Iha singing... I feel like a fucking prick.

  • You can really hear the influence My Bloody Valentine had on them in this song. Love it.

  • I can't stop listening to this. x3

  • @AHNUBISAKI ????

  • well ahnubisaki YOU seem obsessed with homo erotic images... maybe got something to come out with?

  • one of my faves by SP

  • @AHNUBISAKI

oh shut up, james iha is awesome =)

  • Adore the entire song, but @2:28 MAKES IT. James.. make more amazing tunes like this!

  • @AHNUBISAKI so, what's the point?

  • @AHNUBISAKI The best part about him...

  • if you can hear me... thank u and ill see u one day on the other side xoxox

  • @AHNUBISAKI James was a bit girly but he nailed Nina Gordon from Veruca Salt. Thats pretty fuckin awesome as far as I'm concerned.

  • every little part of me, is a part of you!

  • @AHNUBISAKI - not a partial fag?

  • I've never heard this song before, really neat! I have the 1979 Single Poster in my room, so i had to check this out.

  • Hey My Bloody Valentine called - they claim that the "airy, ethereal, nearly unintelligible lyrics" trademark is theirs alone! Lawsuit lawsuit! LOL

  • @decimated550 Um, I can understand the lyrics is English not your first language or something?

  • @OwrKeeng - You may have never heard My Bloody Valentine, and missed my point, which contains a jokey sarcastic remark , not a scientific statement. My Bloody Valentine features a similar hypnotizing wall of sound, with a singing style similar to that in this song: breathy, dreamy, what have you. They began in 1983 and influenced many , including Smashing Pumpkins.

And so the joke...MBV is suing SP for an alleged rip-off of their musical style...but you can't own a style...get it?

  • "I don't need, I don't eat, I don't sleep" well i'm not in love with anyone but that's what's happening to me nowdays. i miss being in love with someone.

  • m&m

  • this song are good to reminds memory of 90's . . rip kurt cobain

  • I was 13 when Aeroplane came out now I'm almost 30. I'm still young and this song is still beautiful.

  • the pumpkins at their best years. then, they could put anyone in love for their songs. so much nostalgia...a special one this.

  • very cool song!!! there was another great song on that six track album which i cant remember coz that was more than a decade ago.

  • ..im now just realizing that james was sort of a sappy song writer..

  • Such a simple song, but so fantastic! This is my favorite of the songs from The Aeroplane Flies High set.

  • no other band has a way of making us feeling good like this(love)..try try try also amazing song and so many others..they have great rock stuff but yet some gentle melodies(this boys in love) SP's...fxxk yeah!

  • James was always years ahead of the band...

  • Gish to Mellon Collie was the best SP era.

  • I miss James! Get that solo album out, its time.

  • *Time warp* {{Freshman year of college}}

  • Real kool song. Plus, Jimmy looks like a 15 year old boy in this pic. I miss the Iha effect that used to exist with the pumpkins.

  • This is my favorite SP song. Hands down.

  • I think I know where Tinted Windows got the riff for Kind of a Girl lol

  • What a perfect pop song. Tunes like this make me so sad to that Iha will never ever again be part of the pumpkins. The chemistry is broken and it sucks.

  • What's with the gay clothes they're wearing? Why are they singing boy's in love?

  • @blackcrow1x When he sings "The boy's in love" he is referring to himself.

  • @SirNarev oh,ok thanks I take back what I said before.

  • @blackcrow1x Are you fucking 10 years old? Sorry to break your undropped balls kid but there is nothing insulting about the word gay.

  • blackcrow1x is right. Let's face it, this *is* a gay-ass song, by arguably one of the gayest members of a pretty gay band. Thus, it is absolutely PERFECT for when you get all loopy and giggly and happy over a girl, which is basically like the gayest thing you can do.

This single and whole box set are full of win.

  • @copyvio you sir are a fucking dumbass. I tried to make some sense out of that pile of rubish you just posted, but i just couldn't. The things you say are gay are actually the opposite of gay. So, i dunno. I guess you should just get a life and quit watching videos that you hate just so you can comment on them. Oh yea and I'm pretty sure the Pumpkins are ten times better the any of the garbage that someone like you would listen to. peace

  • "What's with the gay clothes they're wearing?"

    They're artists.

  • I like the drums in this single... I never really enjoyed this song as much as others from SP because it seemed so unlike their darker, melancholy usual. Perhaps a nice change of scenery. Definitely James Iha rounds out the band well.

  • Hmm. Iha's voice is pretty damn good.

  • I love this song, one of my ultimate sp songs james voice is wonderful

  • if I were jimmy I would have gained some muscle mass before shooting the photographs for this promo

  • THE BOY THE BOY'S IN LOVE

  • @PUSH050RaLo yeah with that slut darcy, unfortunately :(

  • @PUSH050RaLo its a gay song

  • i think the 1979 single with all of the b-sides(including this one) is better than most of the songs on the actual album, mellon collie

  • i like this song

  • The song is amazing but to me his voice sounds a lot like billy's in this song

  • His best vocal performance on the Smashing Pumpkins

  • One of my favourite pumpkins songs

  • amazing...

  • has any heard this live?

  • y was asking myself the exact same quiestion..

  • I can't stop, I can't breathe, I can't think

    I'm in love again

    I don't need, I don't eat, I don't sleep

    I'm in love again

Ooh, and everytime that I'm with you

    I'm alive

Ooh, and everytime I think of you

    There's a light

    And I felt it, too

    WAAAAOOOOOO

  • the delightful side of SP by james iha

  • Staind totally ripped off this riff on their song "could it be"! unbelievable!

  • haha yeah they did

  • WHAT A GREAT SONG!!!!

    tera1320 cyberpunk extrodinaire!!!!

  • i love this song, SP is soo sweet

  • It's a b-side from the 1979 single.

  • God,this is a good song.Smashing Pumpkins are the best.

  • good chamberlain

  • this is what SP now misses - James brough such melody and romance to the band...........they need that back.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! James' voice is beautiful, so is Billys!!!!

  • the drums in beginning pretty similar to 1979

  • oh i love this song greetings from kentucky

  • Smashing Pumpkins buen tema, the boy

    muy buena¡¡¡

  • Everyone is always inquiring what love is, and it is about time we made a dictionary definition of this song.

  • great song, i think it's heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine

  • @Zillie001 they were influenced by MBV but I think this song was more influenced by the cure

  • que buen tema!

  • Reminds me of summer of 99. Good year. ^_^

  • oops vixen, i accidently gave u a thumbs up instead of a thumbs down and it wont let me change it, sorry about that. i didnt like seeing that u had 6 ups for a mainly moot comment. u should have 5 instead of 7 now, don't let it go to your head.... :)

  • Why does vixens comment bother you?!?!

  • I was about to type the very same thing...

  • @vixen2551 Totally reminds me of summer 99 too!!!

  • gènial

  • Love it..

  • I freakin' like James singing !

  • unfortunately all his best songs (The Boy, The Bell, Take Me Down) were released as Pumpkins tracks. I didnt much like his solo stuff.

  • Yeah, Let it Come down was a very weird release... a totally different style ! But I like his voice btw.

Even if sometimes in live...it looks like he's not able to sing

  • The 1979-single was really worth the money. Another Mellon Collie B-sida that was good was Medellia of the Grey skies.

  • Great song, this song is in my top 5 b-side pumpkins songs!

  • my favorite pumpkin. i may be half afghan half Japanese, but this guy is an inspiration to me. You the man James and i must say that my fav albums are SD, MCIS, Adore and my fav. B-side is Aeroplanes flies high. Keep singing James, you're the greatest.

  • wow i love the lyrics to this song. i reccomend checkin them out.

  • what were the other 3 tunes on this ???...i had this... lost it...great c.d...

  • my fav albums by them are gish and adore

  • Your opinion is wrong, you're real favorite albums are Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie.

  • ......

  • LOL! Hey, I am with funkmaster. I think 56789 is confused. Those are his real fave albums.

  • @funkmaster3005 your*

  • @funkmaster3005 There's nothing wrong with that. They're so popular for a reason. Mellon Collie is second only to Siamese Dream in the best albums since '90 IMO, and they're my personal favorites of all time.

  • Yes, yes, Adore certainly was amazing and still is. This here is one of SP's greatest songs. James Iha is freaking amazing, too I must say! 5 stars indeed.

  • Hey Gracias! =)

  • The drums sound like 1979's beat. Nevertheless, this is a good song!

  • i noticed that too right away, nonetheless i love this song

  • muy bella

  • J'aime tellement cette chanson <3

    Merci :)

  • OMG!!! I have been looking for this song for like 3 years and i never found it till now!!! argh!! thank you1!!! i love this song!!

  • I love this song now!

  • Between this, Blew Away, and Go, Iha had a number of good Pumpkin tracks. I think this should have made the cut for Mellon Collie. Medellia, the Boy, and Marquis in Spades were definitely of a high enough caliber. There was talk of Mellon Collie being a 32 track album, but it was scaled back to 28. So a number of b-sides lost out ...

  • Ya that MIGHT be the truth.. Only the Four of them Really knows what went down..Yes billy's been known to be a control freak i suppose..At least we got the old songs and video footage!!!

  • I think James had a pretty decent voice, Believe' is also a good song nd a few others. its just too bad him and Billy had a falling out for who knows why? Just them two rly know what caused it.. SP still ROCKS!!

  • well james and darcy didn't come back because Billy runs everything, Jimmy just has a style that Billy likes alot so Jimmy kinda does all the drum work, so james and darcy didn't want to back when the pumpkins united because they wanted to have a say in the music but knew Billy finalizes everything.

  • i agree with your screen name :)

  • @AdoreWasAmazing i met billy christmas eve and he was suprisingly so open about his music and the down-sides of what has happened with his band. i heard the truth from the man! so what he said was that he got along well with all his band mates and he was never so selfish. the band mates only got jealous of him when the media and management would pin-pick billy to do everything from writing to interviews. the band never had a say and that was the music business' fault. sad stuff :(

  • @blindbaby96

I've said this before, but James has a solo album called "Let it come down"

Good stuff, this is one of my favorite SP songs ever. I want to like Zeigeist but... Maybe I need more time.

  • Good shit.

  • If they'd make more music like this, I would cry. Their latest music is awesome and everything, but nothing beats this.

  • come on...be fair...you saying 'united states' doesn't smash this right up? i think it does.....just a bit!

  • I agree united states is better then this song.

  • Must dissagree

  • i fell in love with this song as soon as i heard it.

    i think it's perfect.

  • Terrific Song! Should have been on Mellon Collie. Instead I had to go hunting for, like, the German Import of the 1979 single for this. A great CD, but still....

  • I found it in a thrift store. Bummer.

  • this song is so lovely

  • Favorite James Iha song.

Reminds me of My Bloody Valentine collided with Yo La Tengo.

  • I think this and The Bells are my favorite James songs.

  • Yeah, The Bells is nice too, I really like the song "Go" off of Machina II as well

  • Billy is looking good in those sexi tight pants.

  • lol wut
