@vanhodid It creates a heat flux between the junction of two different types of materials which draws massive amounts of heat from one side to the other, thus cooling one side and heating up the other. TECs require MASSIVE amounts of electricity.

That "memory cooler" the reviewer pointed at was actually a Peltier unit, he clearly does not know what the F he is talking about. The Peltier aka a thermo-electric cooler on the V10 is designed to turn thermostatically and electrically augment the air cooling abilities. It is nothing more than that. THe COOLERMASTER V10 IS an air CPU only cooler. Any air that blows on to the ram just happens to be an accidental side benefit. The V10 is hybrid only because it uses 2 cooling methods. Google it

I got a great cooler for 30 bucks, the arctic cooler freezer 7. it is lightweight, silent, installs in seconds, no back plate needed because it is so lightweight, and its rated for socket 1366 im running it on i7 990X OC to 4Ghz and its awesome. What we need it stuff that is functional and not just a gimmick.

Also something to consider, for people looking into these "high-speed" and expensive fans, should really consider the care you are puting in to the computer itself. Try getting an A/C unit to keep the room cool so that the intake fans on your box can continually ingest cool air while the out take digest hot air. keep the room cool, and your machine will work like a charm. though depending on your setup for the more expensive CPU's I would go for a liquid cooling system. (corsair is good)

seems a little heavy to fix on to one point on the motherboard, and only real downside i see is if you want to upgrade your RAM, you'd have to take off the entire thing to do so.

As am trying to figure out what best air cooling for this comp i'm building, It looks like sticking with a V8 cooler master, and use a separate fan for the RAM for easier access

No, you aren't wrong, but how often, really, are you changing out RAM sticks? It's all up to personal preference though, and separate RAM coolers ARE very easy to remove and put back on.

@Nezen3k watercooling is more effective but it costs more and might have leeks but if you spend some money on it you can get come awesome watercooling systems- alot better then aircolling fans

The fans that natively come with the NH-D14 are incredibly quiet and have cables that undervolt the fans to be even quieter, but those two fans you mentioned would not be able to replace the middle one which is a 140mm with 120mm mounting holes. The Scythe Slip Stream kaze maru2 would be a good replacement or the middle, as it has the same 140mm w/120mm holes thing going on, but really, any standard 120mmx25mm fan would do. Same for the side, 120mm, but no width restriction.

@Gamingsince1997 Yes, because the LGA 1155 (sandy bridge) sockets are the same as the LGA 1156 (The 1st generation i5) sockets... well thats what i heard haha

anyway if you go to coolermaster-com you can go to cpu coolers then v-series then v-10 it will say sockets: LGA1155 meaning it definitely supports sandy bridge ;)
