@thatguy25ish: You can get away with 8' 2x4's if you space them close enough together. Since 4' sections would require a lot more plywood (very expensive alternative) This is the method that is used.
@quincycal: I got mine at Rona (Canadian) which is similar to a Home Depot (with a lumber yard). You might be better off to find a local scrap metal yard or ask around at a fabrication shop for some cheaper stuff though.
@BmxMrAlex: it would cost about $400. You would not need to change very much. The only major change would be the curve radius (change it from 7' to 9'). Another thing you would have to do is use two sheets of plywood for each side curve instead of one.

@thatguy25ish i would recommend using 2x6 as opposed to 2x4 because 2x6 can handle almost 800 more pounds of strain than 2x4.
