  • i like this song love the beat to it too this song was out before i was even born but love it on ny ink

  • This is the first version i heard in the 70s and for me its the best (no disrespect for the originals at all!)

  • NY INK !!

  • @cookie - quoting wikipedia isn't the answer - Russ Ballard released this on an album, not as a single before Hello. That was in the UK - I think he only released it as a single in the US, after Hello.

  • es mejor la origuinal que el remix

  • Woah guy's! I can't believe we're at 70,000! Keep it up!

  • class..pure class

  • Fuck no!!! Ace did not do it better. Kiss Kan Kiss my ASS!!!

  • One of my favorite songs on GTA IV

  • this isn't the original. Russ Ballard wrote and released the first version. I'm pissed I can't find his version here because it's by far the best, and pisses on both this and the lame overblown Kiss version.

  • @adamtr100 Actually, the original in the title is Hello's Original video for New York Groove. Not the Original one of All time.

  • @adamtr100 How can you say the kiss version is lame.. it's a classic rock!!!

  • @adamtr100 "New York Groove" is a song written by Russ Ballard and first recorded by Hello in 1975 and later by Ace Frehley in 1978. ...I quote wikipedia. It's not that hard really is it?

  • @adamtr100 I've never heard Russ's version ever he's written some of my favorite songs (performed by other people) and it took me years to find him.

  • this isn't the original. Russ Ballard wrote and released the first version.

  • so wie wir drauf waren das geilste der welt

  • La semana de Cats:

Ea Ea Don Gato y su Pandilla SEEEE je je...

  • This song was written by Russ Ballard.

  • Kiss crazies wont agree, but this is their best song.

  • i thought ace did somethin original outside kiss.... i was wrong..

  • The reason people did not here this in '75 is that Hello didn't have a U.S. distribution deal! Russ Ballard very often shopped his song's to other artists on a rough demo. Far from, " steeling," his songs, Hello, and Ace Frehly made Russ a chunk of change! As did Head East and Rainbow with,"Since You've been Gone. Frehly had obviously heard the original,"Hello," version before he recorded his version! Argue all you want, I'm a RUSS BALLARD fan!

  • this is the first ( the best) kiss did a cover !!!

  • Hey Guys its called Wiki you should check it out. Written by Russ Ballard in 1975.

    Ace Covered this in 1978

  • I heard Ace Frehly actually wrote this, but maybe I'm wrong

    Ace Frehly way better FOSHO

  • @RoLLin60sCubnasty No. This is the original..

and yeah I have of Million Comments telling me he did it better...

  • @nazcarmaster Ace did it MUCH better!

  • @jrooksable If you look at tall of the comments, you would say what %75 of the comments say.

  • @nazcarmaster I have EVER let other people influence what I like! had I done so I would worship Led Zepplin like the 90% of my fellow high schoolers who WEREN'T Disco heads! I LOATHED Led Zepplin and said so loudly and frequently to anyone whether they would listen or not! now go ask your betters how to respond to THIS

  • @jrooksable Led Zeppelin is a legendary band. And that is my opinion, and your opinion about not liking Led Zeppelin is yours. I don't know how that band got into this, but I'm not trying to influence you. You're expressing your opinion about how you like Ace's much better, but then again, you're the 1% of the 78% of comments that say aces is better. If you don't like it, fuck off, don't come and comment on something you don't like to be a fucking cunt.

  • I heard Ace Frehly actually wrote this, but maybe I'm wrong

  • Anyone who thinks Ace did a better job is a fucking nimwit. First, Ace didn't write the song and secondly, had much more money for production quality. Anyways, Ace's version is identical to the original.

  • Truthfully... I honestly don't think they sound all that much different ( :

  • Nothing says 70's like this song...

  • originaly done by hello 1975 there first album hit num#6 on uk charts Ace did a cover in 79

  • I'm so old, this is the first version I heard. I think Ace maybe sang it better, but this is no KISS song so I give it to these guys.

  • with a fist full of dollars id go to the strip club . fuck it . its a cool song

  • Ny ink

  • Ace Frehley's is way beeter this sucks specally the vocals

  • @damageplan67 Thanks for being the millionth person to comment that on this video. . . -.- getting a little old and annoying now. . .

  • @damageplan67 this is the orginal lol!

  • @AeroFix94 no shit i knew that and sorry it sucks.

  • @damageplan67 this owns aces idiot cover!!

  • @AeroFix94 You my good sir get a thumbs up.

  • @AeroFix94 Thats why no one ever heard it till Kiss did it and Ace made the song thats why it is still popular today. Ask anyone who Hello is they will say who? Yes I grew up in the 70's and never heard of Hello and no one I know has either and thats people in there 40's to 50's Ace made this song what it is today and it is still popular.Ace also is a better guitar player he gave the song balls.Face it Kiss is still selling out shows and where is Hello washed up after 1 record.

  • @damageplan67 For fuck sake, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, dude. You can't say this song "Sucks" because Ace made a "Better Cover", Thats all in your opinion; and I actually do know people who know Hello, even my dad and my dads friends know who they are. But seriously I'm tired of people argueing on a damn song... I'm about to turn off comments, because some people like the Original Version and some people like the Ace cover. I like both to be honest. But I still like Hello's best.

  • i heard this from NY ink and i instantly fell in love with this songg!! :)

  • heard from NY INK...

  • heard this song on gta 4 and i love it

  • PLEASE check out another version of this song! Search youtube for THE DEAD END KIDZ NEW YORK GROOVE, thanks!

  • WOW! I never knew this was the original! Never heard of this band till today!

  • Good tune but KISS does it better! these guys are too fem!

  • @spanky5876 Its called glam rock bud :P

  • LIKE IF YOU WATCHED A MOVIE CALLED "A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS"

  • Why is it snowing?

  • thumbs up if you know this for gta 4

  • @ramsessndvlrms Thumbs up if you hate people asking for thumbs up :D

  • @nazcarmaster hahahaha

  • Love it!!!!!!!

  • oh, it's a live version!

  • @abre01 Nope its the official music video

  • It's nice to hear the original, but Ace's kicks this one's butt overall. His version's crunching drums and New York accent/attitude add tons of flavor. I only wish he would have invented a guitar solo for the song somewhere. Instead, he's pretty faithful musically to the original in that way. Still, both versions are just plain fun songs. Proof that you don't need emo poetry, posing, or choreographed shit dances to make good tunes. Let the audience dance to music and let performers play!

  • l seem to have the habit of liking a lot of onr hit wonder songs loved this

  • Bought the vinyl when a teenager, still mint, great song.

  • i got this song off of white collar! lol but i listen to it on gta 4 and on my ipad

  • Of course, this is the one and only version of this Glam rock classic by Hello. However, this special version of NYG was never realeased on a Hello album. Ace's cover can not really compete with this one ...

  • harmonica sounds cool as hell in the song

  • ACE

  • I love this old Hello song, I'd forgotten about it and not heard this in about 15 years. CLASSIC.

  • This is sooo much beter than Kiss' version

  • Zoom!

  • wow, this is a total surprise!

  • there no doubt in my mind that hello done this better

  • This is the original version of the song, it was written by Russ Ballard, then covered by ACE FREHLEY on his solo album, not KISS. Although they did perform it many times in concert together.

  • this is the one

  • This is first and real version. Even KISS fans says this is first, and they dont care about it.

  • Perfect song!!!

  • And do you think Russ Ballard had a little angel whisper in his ear, let's write a song that sound a little like Johnny Otis's hand jive?

  • @MFIORE7511

I think the song "Bo Diddley" by Bo Diddley predates Johnny Otis's "Hand Jive"

  • You think The Bee Gees borrowed the opening from this song for Jive Talking?

Long live rock and roll, Berry, Lennon and Joe Strummer. Go away Rap, Britney and Madonna !

  • those were the days

  • I agree Ace's version is better

but this is the first version

    I like the instrumentals.

  • i had no idea this was a cover. Ace's version is 100x better tho

  • Never heard the "original" of this song before.

Just Ace's version (and Kiss' versions during the reunion tou and Largo '79)

  • glamtastic

  • This is cool ... is there a Russ Ballard version around?

  • Russ Ballard did the song first prior to Hello...even if it was only in his living room.

  • ....very fine and this after all this years.....:-)

  • "Here I am again in the city, with a fist of dollars'

and a fist of....hmm GUESS, it's gonna be ectasy

    who cares about tomorrow???

wanna do something really baaadddd- haha

  • @Owleyes888 ecxtasy (the drug MDMA) didn't come into use until 1984, and wasn'tthe new designer drug until 1988

  • Yes, Hello did the song first. When the original 4 members of KISS released there solo albums in '78, all went at least Gold. But Ace Frehley's redo of New York Groove was the only single of the albums to hit in the top 10 on the charts. Hello did a good job of the song, kind of folksy, but I still like Ace's version better.

  • Its on Ace Frehleys Solo Album 1978

  • its the original kiss did a cover

  • @Geoffrey1610 accually Ace did not KISS

  • @Geoffrey1610 Eeehh.... Ace Frehley!! Not Kiss!!!

  • @Geoffrey1610 this is the original but I LIKE MORE THE COVER OF KISS with ace

  • i think its the original
