@ciarantlogue Thank You...The camera audio doesn't pick up how nice they really sound...The bass is quite amazing!!!

This one isn't the one I've showed the restoration on...That one is almost finished now...I've had to put a few repairs and other machines in front of it...But I will be doing a completion video on it soon...They all come to me broken and unloved...They leave like new!

I currently have 5 of them, this one was re-homed about a month ago

The new owner is over the moon with it! :)

@GarrardAT6 I'm not surprised! I'm thinking of attempting a restoration on one soonish. I'm an impoverished student right now though so it may have to wait. I have an old Dansette too but I'd rather spend the money on the Hacker.

Great that you found the extra speaker too. That must have been hard to come by.

Do you guys have some kind of competition going with how good the record can sound or something?

I've become very good friends with Joe - Ivoriesman...He is such a lovely guy! We chat on the phone for hours...Also Loyboy1979 he called me 5 mins ago...haha!!!

@GarrardAT6 Ah right. I would tend to agree but I have only really heard a few.

It's a Conquest exactly like this:

I picked it up on eBay (I must be mad...) and it is in much worse condition that I thought. I might just send it back and focus on the Hacker actually.

I've also got the AL42 separate amp/speaker that goes with this for stereo.

Everyone I've showed it to with the AL42 connected just goes...Wow...That does sound amazing!

I'll do a video of it connected soon...It'll be hard to show the stereo effect as I only have mono camera...But I'll find a way...haha!!! Thanks for commenting! :)

I paid extra for a fast air mail delivery as the cheaper boat and land option was 6 weeks!

If it's gone the slow route heads will be rolling at the Post Office!!!

@GarrardAT6 No sign of it yet.  I just hope the mail person didn't leave it on the porch and somebody stole them. Usually if they can't deliver it I get a note saying to pick it up at the post office, but nothing yet.

It was my other channel that got approved for longer uploads. I posted "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" on that one.

OK - you win! A Fidelity didn't really stand a chance against a Hacker! Guess who's going to be dragging in a Clarke & Smith schools player for a future video? Might even try it with a 45 of Side Saddle. . .

Seriously though, that is one lovely player - as you say, it sounds better than new (and that was pretty excellent). Well done on a top restoration!

@pyestudiocolour Ah...Clarke & Smith in the wooden case?...I'll have to step up to my Dynatron RG86 Burlington Stereogram...And I'll plug the external speakers in too...haha!!!!

I'll do a video on an HF42 later...I'll make it sound horrible as I can...I have a terrible workshop copy of Roulette and I'll put in a worn out stylus...haha!!!
