  • dude, you are awesome,i live in philly and we used to have a rush cover band in town and down the jersey shore, called crystall roxx,i think, they were awesome.first time i heard them i went to a club,like,`91 in wildwood,nj and there they were, never saw a band cover any songs let alone strictly them.they were awesome,i think they are still around, search for them on youtube i`m gonna right now,the only tip i could give you is i hear a thud from your bass drum,it`s the set-up i think, but you rock

  • awesome achieved drumming techniques...

  • It's a shame there's a little delay going on there, but MAN you can play!

  • @ralgarte I need to redo this with my new HD format and better synch.

  • SICK BRO!!!

  • That is some kit bro! And you are not too shabby a player either!

  • I am more than certain that Neil is watching this somewhere or has seen this at least once and would be more than glad to know that someone can do this he loves education and teaching about music.

    GO YOU

    BLUECOAT DRUMMER

  • Great chops Dude....Meter is like Neil, he listens to click track for compensation. Even the Best drummer in the,,, NEW WORLD, Ha LOL,....isnt perfect, as some would think ....

    Sincerly...Dino

  • @constantinosbassman I just seen a documentary on Rush where the Monitor control guy says Neal doesnt use a click track, he will listen to parts of the song to keep his time.. It on U-tube great documentary.

  • the clock says 6:55. Is this am or pm?

    That is the question.

  • Pm. ;)

  • @dwilmer7 : No one came in and kicked his ass, did they? ^_^

  • this shit justs keeps better and better....

  • Dude, you stuck the landing on this one! Awesome.

That's EXACTLY how I play it on the steering wheel of my truck :> )

  • I feel as though I am in the presence of greatness!

  • I'm impressed -- that sounded great -- copping Neil Peart can't be easy, sure it took a long time to get that good!

  • Great work man!

  • Outstanding!

  • absolutely amazing. congrats on a wonderful talent.

  • nicely done

  • Pretty tight job there man.

It was a joy to hear it banged out live! One of my favorite Rush tracks ever.

  • arthurhox your an idiot Seriously americans good drummers??? Most of world records in drums are held by Canadians

  • You look and sound and have the same style as a great dummer i follow on the tube. Pauliewanna :-) 5 stars !

  • long live paulie ;)!

  • wow awesome can't argue with that great job man right on i love that you were able to authenticate Neil's part in there but you didn't lose your own identity as a player while doing it great stuff nice sound to the drums too good job tuning

  • i simply dunno why americans are so damn lucky ahahha .. looks like they were born to play drums oO hahaha

  • I would not know either: I'm Canadian! :)

  • Wow, you're performances always leave me stunned. A true worker in force. Neil I'm sure is proud when viewing your work. Happy New Year! to the northern Canadian friend.......

  • Very Very Good!!!!!

  • two thumbs up, dude!!!

  • Great job man!

  • You got it dude. good job!!

  • Neil Peart would be proud...

  • Damn good job dude!!!

  • One Word !!! WOW.... Two Words...I Thank You :-)

  • Three words: You are welcome! ;)

  • damn that badass. this is a tough one. lots of strange beats.

  • Thanks. "Signals" was a very exploratory album for Rush. Neil is trying al kind of weird patterns in these songs and New World Man is one of them.... Thanks for watching!

  • Sweet!

  • fun song,

  • Awesome mate

  • Well done. 1:40-2:05 total ownage

  • Good job.

  • that was pretty badass

    good job guy

  • time stands still, TIME STANDS STILL

  • i love how you have a near replica of neal's set

    haha

    its AMAZING!!

i wish i had that kinda money

    MIKE

  • was that a drum kit or a cymbal store, that's quite the kit there. good job loved it

  • well done.

  • all we need is for you to be in the audience when neil takes a horse tranq. and you'll be off and running. chance favors the prepared mind. your definately there. great show

  • damn nice kit! and great job that was amazing!

  • F'n a that was great!!

    Way to go yo!!

  • Now that's what I'm talking about!!!

  • ...no disrespect, but this guy is so like Stuart Copeland!! Bloody good drummer!!

  • I'm no drummer, just a bit of a rush fan, and I have to say I have really enjoyed these renditions, thanks.

  • How long does it take for you to learn a song like this?

  • Supposedly "on the fly"

Which if true, makes this guy a genius! 5/5

  • I had played this song before, of course, but for this video there was no practice involved at all. I'm not a genius though. Neil is.

  • he loves rush even his set is modeled after perts old diff is peart uses DW

  • You have a nice kit... :D

  • On a Peart scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best of course, I'd have to give you a 9! Pretty freakin close to the real deal!

  • he is badass drummer or has paint workshop!

  • When I realized what you were trying to do I thought, "Okay, show me." It didn't take long to realize you had the stuff to do it and I actually started rooting for you, anticipating every fill and watching you pull it off. Very impressive!

  • There are people who will tell you that, since your drum set looks like Peart's, you're trying to copy him. Fuck those people. You're falling in line with the best. Keep up the good work!!!! Awesome.

  • You're a great drummer. I actually look at your videos to see how Peart does some of his fills. I did notice on this song that your hihat stops during fills and goes from quarter notes to eighths several times. But I am really enjoying the vids. keep it up.

  • Hey man, that last guy was a dumb ass. You really rock. Any self-respecting musician would be proud to have you in their band. Peace

  • Wow. You try to do it all like Neil Peart does? The kit is a replica. Even the style: the way your head nods, the way your hands move (snare drum hand rising up and down almost exactly like Neil's). All the gestures. Incredible how somebody takes it so far. :) Have you still managed to create a style of your "own"?

    But hey. Good playing nevertheless.

  • DAMN!!! You rock man!

  • ok enough?? dude.. that's pretty damn close. even Neil would have to give you props!

  • hi five man. how about a rendition of WORKING MAN?

  • Nice! Note for note. And not an easy song to play either.

  • Awesome job. Love this song.

  • thats a dude i could jam with!

  • wicked drumset man

  • Please tell me your in a rush tribute band or somethin because I don't know of anyone who saves up for a drumset like that and knows all the songs by heart. That is just intense because you play it exactly.

  • Awesome man !! Im really impressed at the angle and distance you hit that china at. Looks painful !! haha !!

Thanks again very well done !!

  • Nice, great job.

  • i know an 11 year old that sight read this piece from the rush drumming book. no joke.

  • Very good performance, I enjoyed it a lot.

  • Fantastic bro, fantastic

  • You should be playing with RUSH! Well done!

  • Nah, I heard that their drummer is actually pretty good so I think they will keep him... ;)

  • No really!!!!! lol

  • Very well done dude!!!!

    Cheers!!!

  • YOU HAV A SICK DRUM SET

  • still one of my favorite songs by them also, nice job.

  • i hate rush so fucking much, but i can deff watch and learn from this guy right here

  • Why do you hate Rush? What about them do you not like? Amazing guitarist, best drummer in the world, amazing bassiist/vocalist. What's not to like about Rush?

  • great job dudwe but hah the timeing is off a little with the song but still sounds good

    awesome song and nice kit

  • Yeah, this is because at the time, I had not fully mastered the technique to perfectly synchronize the overdubbed song with the video.

  • dude what can i say? your great! as a major fan of rush and a Lifson clone that was entertaining to say lest. RANDY RIDDELL

  • i wanna see a fountain of lamneth drum cover

  • I second that.

  • awesome skills. beautiful kit.

  • Wow, rock on. Can I have your autograph? Neil Peart has a kick ass replacement if he ever wants a break from Rush to pursue his motorbike journeys and journals.

  • You should make a drum tour video!

  • Nice kit dude! Great song choice too. RUSH on.....

  • all you need is a spinning stage for your drum set. You fucking rock. I listen to your version of the songs more than the actual songs themselves. Very enjoyable.

  • Very Good Sir I am impressed and I have been playing since 83 . If you want a job anytime let me know I have connections. Well done .

  • heell yeah i would take that offerr

  • how do you get out from that kit?lol nice tama set....welll i wouldn't mind livin in a drum set :)

  • Absolutely incredible work !

You move pretty good for a big guy :)

  • WOW!!!

  • hell yeah man you kicked its ass!!!

  • Hey! Good job! Started a bit shaky, but a third of the way in you got the grooooove on. Go all the way -- you rock

  • WOW, great job

  • nice kit

  • I wish you lived in houston so we could jam you rock

  • AWESOME dude!

  • Thanks!

  • FUCKING AWESOME

  • Awesome man.. lookin good....soundin great.

  • this is why i like youtube :)

we can communicate with thalented people like these

  • Nice job man. Great looking kit too

  • You do a great job!! And you have obvious skill. Even NEP took up a coach.....So I would say one thing...If I may...it just seems like you need to relax more...be more fluid. You have good talent now go and make it great!!

    KEEP DRUMMING.

  • You are an accomplished drummer, that is for sure. Even the best need coachs...all I can say is, relax your right foot. It seems tense. Other than that you ROCK!

  • Thank you! Footwork has always been a weakness in my playing and the older I get, the longer it takes to warm up! :( A problem I have with the video setup is because of my headphones, the music, and the open house in front of me, I can barely hear my bass drum in fact. So, I have a tendency to hit it too hard and I have to constantly remind myself to relax a bit. Good catch though! I'm working on it! ;)

  • Buddy....most of the time...be it drums or guitar....they hit the notes....MAYBE.....but don't get what the fuck the musician was saying.

You nail both. Watching you is a lesson...and just a pleasure.

    Ya fuckin ROCK!!

  • do u like buddy rich just asking cuz that was pearts inspiration

  • Of course! I have tons of recordings from Buddy (and all classic drummers as a matter of fact, like Webb, Payne, Bellson, Krupa, Philly Joe, Williams, etc). Buddy Rich was the absolute master. For a fun read, I recommend Mel Torme biography of Buddy called "Traps".

  • Fantastic job. One of my favorite Rush songs. Fave record too.

  • I'm a big Neil Peart fan and you did a wonderful job my friend.

  • SWEET how much did they all cost together

  • This is one of the 30 "2112" sets made by Sabian 2 years ago. Well, all 12 cymbals, + 1 R30 DVD (signed by Neil) + 1 Anatomy of a drum solo DVD + transport case + authenticity certificate was, you guess it, $ 2112.00 !

  • @Astrotama that`s a fucking steal,i thought i set like that would be like 30,000.do you mean everything we see cost you 2112.00?or just the basics.i just started playing guitar and i suck, but i have loved rush since like `82,my first show was `84 for 11.00 at the philly spectrum.i posted about your bass drum, can i hear i thud, then i saw you said you can`t hear it and tend to hit it hard.it sounds like it isn`t stable enough.and on another vid u had a drum making a metal noise, tighten her up!

  • do you have pargon cymbals

  • Yup, all of them. ;)

  • Costs a pretty pennie! I'll get them when I win the lotto! LOL!

  • Rockin dude...well done.

  • ever notice that busy ride to china thing neil does? I'm a huge rush fan, but did u ever think it's a ridiculas thing to do? Just makes him seem like he's doing more than what he is doing to the layman.

  • i love this song how it goes into a steady china cymbal beat in 2nd verse,it really makes the sing rather than the usual high hat beat

  • I love watching a good drummer do his thing.

  • Nice dude...

    Keep going!!

    OHH...Nice set dude!!

  • Nice kit

  • It's great bud

  • very very nice job on the skins, sounds like you're going places, man. work it like peart!

  • Nice going dude. Pretty solid.

  • Awesome!!

  • holy crap man!!!! big drum set... wanna trade :P lol

  • WATCH OUT NEIL PEART !! Good Job dude !

    Do Time Stands Still !

  • Thank you! Neil's job is very secure, trust me... ;)

  • Right On Dude!..Deserves more views!

  • Great drumming! Your kit is awesome, too.

  • Wow - now that is some fantastic drumming! I used to play the drums as a young lad in a few rock bands and I know just how hard that piece of drumming is. I can't believe you played that for the first time! You can really play the tubs for sure. Keep at it. Neil Peart would be impressed - you've done him proud!

  • Thank you! I had played "New World Man" before but for the video, I just fired it up with no rehearsal, maybe a year or two since I had played it for the last time. I just wanted to see what it would be like!

  • Sounds awesome!

  • u rock dude excellent work nice set.how about tom sawyer if u didnt do that already

  • Thanks! TS is on the list....

  • really nice work.

  • great job again, I'm becoming a fan. I think you're up there with shogunwarrior32.

  • Thank you!

  • AWESOME MAN!

  • excellent high hat and cymbal work. I've never seen anyone cover Peart so well and so consistant. I'd really like to see you cover Leave That Thing Alone.

  • Thank you! LTTA will be added to the long list of requests then... ;)

  • Awesome!!!

  • another excellent performance.i thought the hi-hat work

    was spot on.

  • Dude...

    that was excellent.

  • nice, i think you really know the song if you loosen up youd be even better.. Very Good
