  • seriously, he ran 2/3 the way across canada with leg and cancer. All to raise money for other people. What the hell have you done? ( i mean besides talk a big game on the internet)

  • Just one correction: Thunder Bay happened on Monday, 1 September 1980, Labour Day. Since then, the Terry Fox Runs have been on the second Sunday after the Labour Day weekend in Canada.

27 years later, I still marvel at what Terry did. Shawn Ashmore acted admirably in "Terry", but he had no hope in matching Terry's speeches after meeting Greg Scott and when he had to retire from the run...no one could. As an American, I remain irritated that our press gave little coverage of the marathon.

  • lost my mom to cancer 12 years ago.hope you guys are doing great up there

  • Terry was great. The definition of strength, courage, role model, drive, motivation, inspriration, hero, superhero= Terrry Fox!!!!!!!!!!!!Makes me proud to be canadian!

  • a true Canadian hero

  • I don't know if there has ever been any one person as selfless and courageous as this man. Without saying a word, he lead a multitude of people to do good things. Even from the grave, he still makes us take a look at ourselves and think of what we can do to be a better person.

  • what a hero

  • Incredible man...

  • Terry Fox is a legend! Hope you rest in peace, Terry! May God always be with you!

  • There is no doubt in my mind or religion that Terry had an express ticket to heaven. His spirit will be at Saint John's NF next 12 April (Easter!) when twelve runners will trace his Marathon of Hope twentynine years ago. I will look for him in heaven when I get there. Terry is my hero, the first one born after me.

  • does anyone kow what that song is called?

  • It's called Never Give Up on a Dream by Rod Stewart.

  • y didn't Terry win for greatest canadian...?

oh, and great job on movie. another positive movie for the collection! However, there ARE other ppl who go and make fun of Terry...

  • I agree STMAX!

  • Terry Fox should have won the title for the greatest Canadian that ever lived...not Tommy Douglas. R.I.P. Terry you were and still are an inspiration to us all!!!!

  • i am so sad for terry fox when he died hes my favirote runner i didmot see him but i read books about him and watch videos about him love mason

  • today is terry fox day. sept 26. great man

  • Thanks for sharing. I agree.

  • I was in the first Terry Fox run, after Terry had passed away, today my two sons are partaking in this honorable run. I followed Terry's journey through news papers and watching on tv... and to this very day I have tears when thinking of all he had sacrificed in order to stop this deadly disease and save someone elses life. Terry, you have always been and always will be my hero. thank you. Allison xo

  • hey i know terry fox had a girl friend are you his girlfriend or i meen were?

  • i hope i never get cancer...

  • God bless Terry Fox...

  • why did he have to die. :(

  • i feel so sorry for all the people who have cancer

  • They showed this video in front of my school, it was pretty sweet. Terry Fox is awesome.

  • How did they get a copy? I would love to show this at my school assembly!

  • the man of the world TERRY FOX

  • he was a true inspiring canadian

  • God what an inspiration!A man I wish I could be more like. You are missed but not forgotten Terry.

  • The definition of 'Hero', not just for Canadians but for all of those who continue to run.

  • Just looking at that poor guys face when he was talking to the media,I could tell that he new he wasn't going to live much longer. But thanks to his upfront determination of following a dream, his legacy still lives on to this day & hopefully forever more.

    Godspeed Terry.

  • I wish I could see the movie :(

  • I love you so much uncle Terry!

even though i never met you

i miss you so much everyday

and wish you were still here with us.

    love you!

  • I'd be so proud if Terry had been my uncle (unlikely because he'd be slightly younger than I am). I'd be pestering Darrell (be he an uncle or a dad) to tell me the details of the run. I guess that the movie "Terry" and Leslie Scrivener's book is the best I can do.

  • I love u terry fox and am ganna think about u when am going to terry fox

  • He was a very courageous human being. And one of the greatest role models ever. He is greatly missed...RIP, Terry...

  • Terry Fox was an amazing person, and still is.

what i find very interesting, is that Terry Fox, is a distant relitive of mine!, i am so honoured to have him as a distant cousin :D

  • my mother who is not a melodramatic person gasped when she heard; i was a bit too young when it happened though i do remember that.

CTV owns the rights to the movie and refuses to release it to the public.

    that's what they told me

  • The movie "Terry" is available, for I bought it off Amazon last month. Shawn Ashmore is amazing in the role. After 27 years, Terry still gets to me. Because I live in the United States, I had to go around to get it and the coin. However, both are available on the Terry Fox Foundation website.

CBC still has a website with the archives of the run. I have a link to that lost interview with Joe Mullen near Corner Brook, Newfoundland, which I think epitomizes the Marathon of Hope.

  • Thank God for beautiful people like Terry Fox!

He gave, gave and gave until he had nothing more to give but his life. He gave it all and wanted nothing more than to help others. One way or another, lets find a cure! Thank-you Terry Fox and his family, Terry can't come back to us, but we can go to him.

  • Same here. I wish I could find the movie too.

  • terry fox was a great hero. For all of you people that make fun of terry, he was only raising money so if u have cancer they will be able to cure it

  • He was very special, wasn't he. I wish I could find the movie about his journey.

  • I love terry fox hes a hero to canada... GO TERRY FOX!!!!!!!!!!!1 one of my friend was being an ass and made fun of him, and me and my friends said we'd laugh if he died because he has no heart... even my friend who calls me a freak said that that was harsh to make fun of Terry

  • there will never be a person to do something like thet again

  • RIP Terry your a good man good job Terry Fox you rock RIP! KYLEE

  • i feel sad for all the people that died because of cancer.

    may they rest in peace

  • Terry, you were one of a kind person put on this planet...there will probably never be another with your honorable spirit and courage.. You taught many a nation what a true hero is...God bless you in Heaven.

  • Sorry thats wrong it's more like 126 marathons...and all with one leg...Even more Wow!!

  • He was and will remain the greatest example of inner strength and hope.. when you think your day is so bad that you don't wanna get outta bed...just think of this boy and the pain he put up!! GOD BLESS YOU TERRY FOX...You make me proud to call myself a Canadian.

  • actually he ran 3339 miles in 143 days

  • Thats like running 26 marathons....WOW!!

  • !!!!!! niewiarygodny czlowiek !!

  • Terry is a "true hero." I saw the made for HBO movie when I was six years old and got choked up. To this day, it is emotional to see something so terrible happen to a great person. He was extremely tough to go on a 2 thousand mile Journey to raise money. RIP Terry-you are a real Superhero!

  • dear friend, he went about 3500 miles

  • this is soo sad that he did all the for other's... because of him i lived

  • RIP Terry your brought hope to this world and you are still impacting this world. Great and touching video.

  • wondering waz the name of the song.. a very nice and inpiring song..

  • It's called "Never Give up on a Dream" by Rod Stewart. It was written by him and Bernie Taupin (Elton John's writer) as a tribute to Terry and is on the Stewart album "Tonight's the Night" I believe.
