It made a difference to me at the time. And a few mates. Made me feel as though all the early 90's madness was alright, And it was.
Looking at some of the comments, it really doesn't matter what gets mixed up with what. Fact of the matter is that the early-early 90's was not contributable to just one genre. It was a collection of many 'underground' tunes that pushed and pulled, twisted and lifted.
@viberoom you said it mate. On a good night out you'd here this sort of stuff, italian house screamers, belgian new beat, chicago house, detroit techno. It didn't matter..music was music.
i sold this tune in spain along with my other records to some fat spanish waiter for more beer and drugs, remember listening to this of my nut on a tape on a red microdot ....anyway i bought it again on discogs for "£25.00 last year.. does anybody know where the sample the doors are where the windows should be , i think its from alice in wonderland but which one...
I remember being on acid when I was fifteen in an attic listening to this and loving it so much..................it took me ten years to find the tune again.............
Remember this all you Hippodrome & Shelly's lot...???
One of my favorite Old Skool Tracks. It took me years to track a copy of this down. Now ive got one and it brings back so many happy memories. Good times..!
@naughtystudios Too right I do mate....and some very concerned faces of people lookin over their shoulders to see if the walls and clocks were indeed melting!
@shadygiz took the words right out of my mouth! He specialised in weird. Wearden by name, weird'uns by nature. Crackin dj, unsung hero in everywhere elsefor sure, but not in mancland
Couldn't remember the name of this tune. What a fucking tune, reminds me of Cleo's, Wolverhampton watching the mushrooms sprout in little Dave's hooter!
@AreULookingAtMe - tell me about it, had my brother first, he got to experience it all, and now slates it! so its not just 'fucking parents' but fucking familes!'
@inneedofanoose - he slates it? he's the first person I know to have been there at the time and talk -ve about it. I was there and it was one of the best times of my life :)
I was approached by a concerned looking bloke, in the basement floor at Sterns, who pointed at a man in a hat & asked me why he had a chocolate cake on his head. This tune certainly had spun him out.
@bensolloway i agree people wouldn't even think drum and bass if it wasn't on moving shadow and surely they really mean hardcore as this is about 4 years early for drum and bass- the first mentions of jungle tekno were only in 1991/92
@numodegraphika used to hear lots of decent beats bass& bleeps, Chillin 98 Innocense 94.3 Index 88.2 Kool 945 etc. etc. I got a randall set from 1989 Centerforce and he's talking about spinning drum and bass, jungle, techno, acid ... mad how far back the UK scene goes
Correcting,Early Jungle mate. Drum and bass was only start existing in middle 90's. Its ridiculous people negelecting Jungle history by simply Labeling it "Drum and Bass". The two genres are very diferent and continue to separate exist today.
I once witnessed a mental fight in Industria in Glasgow, pure bottles and tables, coming up on two penguins whilst this track was playing in the background..lol..tell you, a lot of men were made that night....and ladies..lol..sure sorts out the lightweights from the rest of us, this track...love it...cheers...
Ha ha ha! I had a trip like that in a pub in Preston once. We were sat next to two girls who started fighting, one smashing the other's face into a marble table top. Later on a mass brawl erupted, and a guy got stabbed in front of us. Never take acid in a Preston pub on a Saturday night: the mental scars will last forever.
lmfao...too true..Preston..haha..yeah mate I used to go there on my 'holidays'..lol.A place where men are men and girls, smash each others faces in...lol...Much like Glasgow....Man if you survive that sort of trip NOTHING will phase you ever again..Cheers for the 'advice'...
Yeah, mate...a brutal place of a Saturday night. Big Jock connection with Preston, too...especially at North End. Shankly, Alexander, Moyesie, Alan Irvine and the great Callum Davidson. watched them on acid at Stoke once...another mental trip.
Can you believe that we actually used to play this on the radio? Manchester's Kiss102 (and predecessor Sunset) must be 1 of a only small handful of official licensed stations where you would have ever heard this track!
@ancientraver19881989 nay fella lol Kiss first ever legal broadcast on 100.00FM was in June/July 1990 test transmissions I had them on tape somewhere, in 1989 I think they were 94FM but they would have been overshadowed a bit by Centerforce Fantasy Dace Climax Friends etc. They did spin this one, along with Orbital and Njoi that kind of thing, but it was def. summer 1990 not before, Peace
