I use a Gastly. And use spite. It decreases the amount of PP it has on the last move used. And once it has no rest, I'll start damaging it, and paralyze it, so its easier to catch. And when I catch it, I also get the chesto berry.
hand down the best way to catch it is to have a pokemon that has sleep powder and put it to sleep. i used my butterfree and used sleep powder so it couldn't use rst and regai health. while it was asleep i just owned it with psychic til it was like 1hp then caught it :)
it seem that i overreacted with my pokemon training, because my charizard is lvl 50 and is too strong to capture it .. it just killed 1 with 1 shot ... it's stupid and others are too weak... -.-
there are two snorlaxes in firered and leafgreen. the one shown here by lavender town and the other by celadon city, by the west exit and before the entrance to the bicycle path. since gender is not predetermined it would be best to save before engaging in battle so you can restart if the snorlax is male. good luck.
