How are you able to keep track of so many of the things that disappear after you walk through them, plus the boulders plus the blocks all with 128 bytes of ram? I guess that is what limits the size of each level? I guess a kilo-bit goes further than I thought?
Is the game release ready, or just a tech-demo type thing?
That is incredible. I'd never thought I'd see anything even remotely close to what the Atari 400 / C64 's version of BD on the 2600. Granted, it's not a port like you've stated but it looks pretty good!
Looks great for that machine, despite some glitches. I wonder, are the engine's physics directly ported from the C64 version?
And why don't you use the snap button?
I think, no one will care if he just copies the rom for free with the caves modified. But selling those cartridges or even spreading the original caves might be a different thing. Boulder Dash fans know that FSS is still watching us.
The physics of the objects such as boulders are copied but due to the complexity of programming the 2600 the algorithm used is totally different. This is not a "port" as much as a completely new engine that is capable of BD-like games.
I don't use the snap button because at the time this video was made (a couple of years ago) that feature was not implemented.
just go to atariage, its being released in a run of 250 for $75 a piece.

That's a surprisingly good adaptation, but the resolution is painfully low.
