What kind of meats can you use this sauce with? I want to make an apricot stuff pork loin, but I'm not sure if its a sauce to pair with dried apricots and pork.
@FrybreadBoy81 I'd say yes. Perhaps, since you're using apricot, use less honey. This sauce has a nutty/garlic flavor. It should be a nice balance. I think that would be an excellent pairing. I'm actually of thinking of pairing this sauce with mushrooms to make stuffed mushrooms and adding pistachios. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
@AgentCell specialty shops like Indian or Mediterranean markets, or try Amazon. You can also make your own or substitute for rose water or rose syrup.
good luck. see below what I wrote to @SillyLitleGirl - be sure to make extra sauce, add chicken stock to the sauce (which I have a recipe for on my channel) and use only organic, unsprayed roses. Good luck and let us know how it goes! Take video and share with me on my channel if you can. : D - claudia from Me Gusta
Has anyone actually tried this recipe? I haven't, it's way more complicated than I feel comfortable trying...not to mention ingredients I don't have access to. Rose oil and raw chestnuts aren't something I see every day. However, i think when I get engaged, my mother who has beautiful rose gardens may make this with me to serve to our family in celebration of mine and my boyfriend's love. <3 I'll be sure to let you know what it tastes like when we do this.
@SillyLitleGirl hi, I'm claudia, the creator of this show. as i mentioned in this video, this dish was experimental. We hadn't tested the recipe. It was important to show this community that experimenting with recipes is essential to perfecting them. What I learned about this recipe is make extra sauce! I felt we didn't make enough. My suggestion is to add a little chicken broth to the mixture. Blend it & pour it over the cooked hens. Make sure you use only organic, unsprayed roses. Good luck!
@cyuskoff Hi Claudia, I'm touched that you wrote back to me personally! My mom not only has access to wonderful roses, but one heck of a powerful food processor, too. :p I'm sure it would turn the rose mixture into a velvety smooth sauce. Other than a wonderful romantic meal, there will be another addition to our family soon, I think I'll surprise the mom-to-be with this.
Um, your "guavas" looked more like kiwis. I' ve never seen green flesh on a guava, only white or pink and the seeds are usually an off white, never black.
I did appreciate your showing the process of working on a recipe new to you :) it's refreshing to see.
@craftygoose yes, you're absolutely right. I meant to say kiwi. The recipe will work with either, pitaya (dragon fruit), guava or kiwi. Thank you, glad you liked it. Figured I'm not along at trying out new recipes and I wanted to film it to encourage others to try it---flaws and all.
yum yum! Like Water... is one of my favorite movies! I grow lots of roses, but I use systemic disease killer...Have you tried any other types of roses? I grow one called 'Wild Blue Yonder" which has a very spicy sweet aroma, hmmm. Please don't take this wrong, but just wanted to say it's ValentiNes day, there's an N there, not a M. But it prolly doesn't make a difference, you are so cute and nice. Happy V day
the bird definitely needs more cooking, it should be golden over rose petals. Having said, I would just have a roast chicken with red wine sauce and home made rose macarons for dessert.
To answer your question, indulging on a fillet steak with fois gras sauce and potato et legumes gratin will always make me horny!
What you're getting is one attitude derived from too many failed relationships (constantly uses the word, AMAZING), and the other floundering around without a clue. What about the hens?
May I ask what temperature you set the oven to? The recipe looks amazing, I definitely want to try it. You can usually find dragon fruit in Asian supermarkets too :)

Great video I LOVE codornices en petalos de rosa..
you can find guava pulp in the frozen section of most supermarkets that sell
latin food products. GOYA which is a popular brand sells it in 6x8 " and 1/2 " thick tablets normally people use it to make a sort of smoothie with it.. there is no water added to it, so it would have worked great for you :) I love the final presentation! thanks for sharing !

an improvment you could infuse the better with your rose sauces then rub it between the skin and meat
