What year was this filmed? and considering Martin is a simple man without expensive tastes, at that time a cup of coffee in McGintys probably would have cost Martin less than 50 cent.
12:40 Oily soap; had that happen to me in my own bathroom. I couldn't get out due to a new hand cream we bought, had to call my mum to open the door. She couldn't stop laughing because it reminded her of this episode.
so many jokes, so much said and ment, all from one sittingi n a coffe house, the writers of this show were amazing. i love this episode, not too much is thrown at you, its quiant and lovable ^^
According to IMDB, the waitress (Amita Balla) was only in 5 episodes...that's got to be a mistake, I can remember her being in tons more of them than that.
@Papped1710 Totally, I love little subtle things like that in Frasier. I think DHP deliberately plays Niles as more effeminate than the actor really is.
The writers for the entire Frasier Seasons are unique and quite superb! I have the whole collection and I never tire of watching. I go to sleep with the whole crew every night. Although, I am not as fond of a few episodes of the last season with the Nanny and Frasier in a diaper. Obviously, it was time to end the show because the writers kinda lost their touch or was running out of ideas. Still, best show ever!
I think its funny, they actually credited Moose as 'Eddie' (22:19) for the first AND last time during the eleven year run of the show. Amazing. lol :)
@adrigl1990 You should watch "One foot in the grave", a British sitcom. Has whole episodes that take place in just a waiting room, just a car in traffic jam and just in a bedroom. Even one where the main character is home alone waiting for a call about jury service.
@uscomputing while its hilarious the way niles put it, his assessment is spot on. It takes about a minute for the callers to describe their problems, and frasier responds with some sort of generic answer. The analysis rarely goes past skin deep. Pretty much anyone could be handing out these advices, it's just that frasier has some credential so people want to listen to him
I was born and bred in England, I have never heard of the word "bumbershoot" nor have I heard anyone use it. Anyway, one of my favorite episodes

If I were Frasier I wouldn't drink that coffee. After sending it back four times there's almost no way the baristas didn't mess with it.

XD
I'm British and I can honestly say i've never heard anyone use that word before. We call it an umbrella or a 'brolly' for short.
If you said that in Manchester you'd probably get beaten up at some point lol.
MiG2880 3 months ago 7
@MiG2880 yeah, it's not a British word at all, it's America, from the early 1900s. I wish I could find the article they had on MSN a few days ago.
