  • mIDNITRE mY NAME OV MY NEW CAT

  • RIDIN ONTDA" dUNS

  • BEHINDND

  • This is such a great early Lep song.

  • R.I.P Steve Clark... I will listen this band until my death..! Thumbs up for those who will do the same!! Just Ride it to the Sun :D

  • @Riba565 ride in to the sun is a very underrated song

  • I love this song!!!!

  • This is SO much better then the version found with the On Through The Night album.

  • Did they all get the same perm?

  • Gotta love Pete's face. Probably gacked out of his mind in this picture.

  • @aerorocker95 as usual

  • i never heard this song of def, nice to see where they started from.

  • Newer version is way better. Phil's lead on it is incredible.

  • I love this version! AWESOME! A sure sign of great things to come from this band.

  • I like how Sav is like WTF is going on here

  • osama bin laden sounds like obama-biden, haha...... all the letters match for both

  • 3 people Love Osama

  • This version is my favorite. Raw and pure metal!!!

  • God, it's weird hearing it with Joe's "pre-Hysteria" voice.

  • Bad Ass!!!! I have always been looking for a way to hear the original version of this song. Thanks to this, i have a continuous way. Thank you!!!! Long live Def Leppard. Their old shit is better than almost any other band. Pyromania and High n Dry was their absolute peak of excellence. Hysteria is second. To much commercialism on Hysteria.

  • gamw ti mana opoios evale arnitiki se ayto to kommati!!!!!!

  • This was reworked on in 1983 because Phil wanted to have a version of which he was on,so,the band re-recorded it,albeit with altered lyrics..it's strange to me,being used to hearing the remake, hearing the Original Lyric now, since I never heard this before!

  • The Best Def Leppard IS the original Def Leppard....Pete Willis and Steve Clark were a much better team. Too bad Pete couldn't straighten up but he did save his life...Unfortunately for Steve,it did not end up that way. It's a shame they fired Pete and did not try to help him.

  • @intothearena1

    Totally agree dude!

  • Sound better than ever!!!

    def Leppard rules!!!

  • Permtastic!!

  • Kick ass tune; thanks for posting this! Pete Willis & Steve Clark rocked back in the day!

  • is pete at this version?

  • @planerfoul yea pete is on this version

  • it's interesting how rick's in the pic yet he didn't join til after this ep was made the drumming was done by another drummer they got to play on this album.

  • wow. No Comments in two WEEKS!!!!!!!

  • This version is superior to the one they released on Retro Active. Much more raw and "rock-ish"...

  • Anybody else find it ironic that it is Steve Clark who is holding the smallest bottle amongst the group? Either way, R.I.P, Steve. You are one of my guitar heroes.

  • @M8nFan HAHA yeah! Steve has the smallest bottle and pete has just a plastic MUG XD Those DRINK-FUCKS try to cover themselves!

  • AWESOME SONG!!! :D

  • This song makes me laugh.

  • what a great version of the song

  • where can i download this version?!!!

  • @dgkcthfan8 torrent. thepiratebay, for example

  • @Nilklas Thank you!

  • @dgkcthfan8 ARES

  • @rodrigosz97 Thank you!

  • great song. this version is amazing!

  • pete is good i admit..i think phil just was better suited for leppard though, and def leppard has stood the test of time so whatever you think joe did wrong doesnt make too much sense..and without mutt hysteria wouldn't have made their break for them..just saying i love them all but please dont come down on mutt and joe

  • Great to see this song up on here. Nothing like the original. To be honest...After Pyromania that was it for me.

  • how many versions are there? which albums are they all on? is this the original?

  • this is the first one they did.

in 88 it was the B-side of Hysteria.

later in 1994 its on the retroactive CD.

    same recording. 88-94 i think.

the 1979 Deflep EP is Really hard to Find

  • Pete Willis was a great rock guitarist. He wrote the best songs on "on thru the night", "High and dry" and "Pyromania". Joe Eliot wanted control of the band and let Mutt Lange turn them into a polished and pretty studio band. They sold a lot of albums but some of their later stuff sounds like bubble gum pop. Check out Petes other bands, Roadhouse and GOGMAGOG.

  • i like all the versions..but this is my favorite..older stuff is just bettter lol xD sav is just a babe lol i love all his expressions, RestInPeace dear Steve Clark..and personally i prefer phil waaaaay over pete though..personality and skill and everything =] hehe im too addicted to def leppard..and im 16! xD

  • @ AlexxFarrell

Glad my dad tought me well, im only 16 also !!!!

    Def Leppard rules all.

  • i got the same story as you man

  • You still teen also ?

  • yes sir

  • @Metalhead0166 my mom actually listened to them a lot, not tons..but some..and then i got into it because of rock on..then i was obsessed with rock on and pour some sugar on me..and joe lol i didnt even look at the other people..i got a little into gnr then dokken and crue and alice cooper and now im so much into def leppard its scary..lol im obsessed with sav and joe still lol xD mutt was a hottie too..and everyone in def leppard

  • @AlexxFarrell

That's awesome!! Yeah i got into Def Leppard when i was around 12, now at 16 i still love them and always will till the day i die! AND THEN SOME!! Joe looked kick-ass in that concert live from Denver CO, (in the round in your face tour).

Between DL, Motley Crue, Scorpions, Metallica, and GnR....there is a tough fight.....still my favorite is Def Leppard. Even though Steve died during Adrenalize, that album still kicked ass!!! R.I.P Steve.... Def Leppard is just plain bad ass..

  • So who played the solo, Steve or Pete?

  • im guessing Steve

  • they need to seriously re-release all their original stuff, in the original versions as they were back in the 70's. This stuff is so awesome...the version of this song thats on retroactive sounds like shit compared to this

  • I have this on a 33 somewhere had it imported... Matter of fact I got two pressings, both recorded different but I still like this one the best. Man I love high n dry and pyromania... But the metal edge is taken away in hysteria and I don't approve as much...

  • In the raw!!!!

  • 2nd fav song, they invited me backstage at the concert 7 weeks ago

  • sav looks happy

  • I love the early stuff... Still metalish sounding, compared to modern metal anyways. And I really wonder what would've happened if they never met Mutt, I mean I love Photograph and yromania, but I still wonder... Hysteria may never have been!

  • And thats a bad thing? I think they sounded better on their first album. It sounded like metal not popish BS. Mutt Lang destroyed the Hard metal sound of the group..the raw passion they had

  • back when they were metal....

  • slightly ironic how only rick allan's right arm is shown in the picture... when a few years later he loses the one not shown lol

  • @colinblack95 ya that is pretty weird... its like the picture is trying to tell u something lol

  • srry I mean is ti tony or rick

  • in the picture is that tommy or rick on the right??

  • it is rick

  • this song brings back memories saw them at the freetrade hall manchester england . im sure they were supporting sammy hagar early 80s i was only a kid myself!

    correct me if im wrong!

  • Nice shirt on Rick Allen (WYSP is a Philadelphia radio station)

I heard the new CD....the name is awful but the songs are actually pretty good.

  • Well the song is good, but the rythm is a bit dull

  • Great song

  • I wish this song was a lot longer than 2:52. It should have been one of Leppards 4+ min songs. It just rocks too hard to end so quickly!

  • This song should've been on On Through The Night. I love the sound of this early stuff.

  • I want this!!!

  • Thank you for posting this! I was wondering where I could listen to the original version, and here it is :)

  • awesome licks drums oh so sweetsteve riff

  • LMAO "Got my baby behind she's hosed on to my hips and drives me outta my mind" Hmm.. what does he mean by "hosed to my hips" ? *wink* *wink*

  • I think they're saying "Got my baby behind, SHE HOLDS ON to my hips and drives me outta my mind"

I don't even want to know how you came up with "hosed on to my hips"....

  • Oops!!! lmao yeah what you said sounds better !

  • Thanks for uploading this, TheBSPolice. I'd not heard this song before; it's amusing. DL were so young and raw in 1979. What is the title of the EP? Was in commercially sold? What are the other song titles on the EP? THANKS!

  • The EP was self Titled. It was just called Def Leppard

  • You could probably get it on ebay or something!! Answering your other question the other songs on the E.P. are The Overture and Getcha Rocks Off!!

  • The EP should be reissued as a bonus to an On Through The Night reissue. Hint hint, Def Leppard

  • Yeah totally!!

  • Right on! Anyone else agree with me

  • defenitly i wish they didnt give in to trends and become glam rock there early stuff is the best. they do have lots of great stuff though on hysteria and pyromania the 2009 album is shit im goin to see them july 12th

  • Actually, the new Lep CD is awesome!!

  • its ok i think im just mad that there so old their playing the country musci awards thats kind of sad for a heavy medal band to play country

  • They don't. They just play w/ Tim McGraw

  • What the matter? They're still a great band for me!

  • Personally, I think I liked everything up until Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, which was an ok album. It's still retarded how they can win a country music award, just for performing "Photograph" with Taylor Swift (blech. I will never insult my ears with that again. She is far from considering matching the original "Photograph")

  • man this is better than the rerecorded version, and..did you guys ever notice how pete willis always looked wasted in all these pictures, and steve clark ended up dying from it....weird? R.I.P. steve :(

  • I didn't know Nick Jonas use to play with these guys. I didn't even think he was born yet!

  • Who the hell is that?

  • you didn't know? oh man... then you don't know rick's not the original drummer.

  • No I meant who the hell is Nick Jonas.

  • more importantly meat. who the hell cares? ROFL

  • Damn straight! lol

  • hey meat. sorry it took so long 4 days of emails. lol how u b?

  • I'm cool, everything's cool and cool is cool. Cool? I would normally say lol, but I'm feelin' too cool right now... Cool.

  • i dig.

  • might as well be though Kenning ditched before they went into the studio and Frank Noon was just on loan to the band. Rick came over and has helped out.

  • oh there's no question that rick is the gr8est drummer ever to play them skins.

  • fuck yeah, i have seen them live so many time and rick allen fucken kicks ass.

  • so is it gettin cold in Albuquerque yet? hey ok that fixed it. it wasn't alphabetized. DEF RULZ!

  • Nick Jonas was never a part of Def Leppard. The guys in the picture are Rick Savage, Joe Elliott, Steve Clark, Pete Willis, and Rick Allen.

  • Haha, the picture is gold. Everyone looks so wasted haha!

  • this one is better than the Hysteria B- Side

  • how do you get ahold of this? is the original on any cds?

  • Its on there EP, its on the On through the night album, and it was remade for Hysteria as a B-Side.

  • Def Leoppard were great on the Masters of Rock in CZE.

  • def leppard were better when they were nwobhm.

  • i luv this song!!!!

  • I LOVE this version so much better than the remake. I think this rocks more.

  • It took me 9 years to finally get this song so now my collection of lep songs (in one format or another) is complete. This song has a more raw song then the remakes.

  • This is the best version available,i've got it on record and on mylost tapes collection.there rare stuff is great, you should here stuff like misty dreamer, they're first ever song written.

  • gonna go look for misty dreamer. and btw ty 4 info. :X

  • oh your welcome.just a warning, the lost tapes and or the rare gems are hard to find.my parents bought burnt copies off ebay of the lost tapes for me for christmas, and i think my dad paid 60 bucks.i'm getting lucky cause a friend is burning me rare gems( a five disk collection)and sending it to me.the lost tapes is only a 3 disk collection.i'd imagine rare gems has everything the lost tapes has and then some.

  • I HAVE THE EP.NWOBHM TO THE BITTER END!

  • back then pete looked like nick jonas does today not that they are the same at all pete rox and nick dont...no offense nick lol

  • The Def Leppard Ep Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OTTN should be remastered w/ the EP as a bonus. This rocks hard!!

  • Thanx for puttin this up i love this song cant find it any where, gotta get the record again i guess!

  • THis is HOT!

  • god look how young they where holy shit

  • Damn, Joe Elliot looks kinda the same. Rock N' Roll is youth

  • like the newer version can anyone post it

  • Here it is---/watch?v=XxdRvZj0UsU&feature=user

  • Why not just buy Retroactive? It is also available on remastered, deluxe 2CD version of Hysteria

  • yeah i like this version. it has such a 1970s feel to it but still kool...

  • def leppard lo mejor lo digo cada vez que los escucho

  • how do get this for mp3???

  • I actully think this is one of the best songs Ive ever heard of Def Leppard. Thanks ALOT FOR POSTING THIS.

  • i have an original def leppard EP with this on it

  • no way!! anyway you could send me a copy! I have every other album except that on!!! It would make my DL collection complete!! send me a message....PLEASE!!!

  • send me your email and i will send it you

no probs oh by the way Rick Allen didnt play on the orignal the drummer was frank noon who took over after tony kenning quit 2 weeks before the recording and it was on retro active in a later version coz they wanted rick to play on it

  • wow they were soo young when they recorded this! great job [;

  • i've always liked this verson better. the other one sounds way too polished....this is the way def leppard was meant to sound

  • I totally agree man, totally.

  • I think they sound the same. Except on the newer version, Rick is playing his custom-made drum kit

  • assez rare ca cool !!!!!!

  • Actually, after hearing the B-Side first, this version has made me feel a little uncomfortable. Still, it's not so bad.

  • anyway i could get the mp3?

  • love this song!! this is the first time i've heard the original!

  • oh my gosh! i've been looking for this forever! thank you!!

  • Def Leppard is riding into the sun; it's amazing--Yeaaaah!

  • Cool thank you for making this awesome track ecsessable, since its is a hard one to come by !!! RIGHT ON KEEP ROCK'N'!!

  • Comment removed
