Didnt this tornado kill 22 people? It was from 2005 right? The NBC anchor only said 2 people died. Jeff Lyons is a great weather man, as is Wayne Hart.
I was in this tornado and we were hit while we were asleep it happened at 2 in the morning and we didnt no what was happening and I was in the 3rd grade but now im 14
don't you love how the news anchor doesn't differentiate between the city of evansville and posey county? it wasn't really that close to evansville, yet it rolled through it?
What was the basis of this comment? Are you not aware that the closer that the storm center gets to the radar, the more inaccurate and "blank" the radar can become?
I meant that the tornado and the worst of the storm didn't touch Evansville. I would know, as I live there. The storm was in Posey County, about 45 minutes away from Evansville. The news anchor makes it sound like the tornado ripped through the city; when in fact it hit a very rural area.
@short1ue The storm they're referring to was NOT in Posey County. He clearly stated the tornado warning was for Northern Vanderburgh County. The "worst part" of the storm that you speak of may not have been near the WFIE studios, but they still were in the path of very high winds. I'm a spotter with the National Weather Service and there were no tornado warnings in Posey County that day.
@bigazzpimp407 The NBC anchor was what I was complaining about... he stated "that tornado, though, that rolled through Evansville, killed two people". I was commenting how the tornado did not actually go through Eville and the two people that were tragically killed weren't in Eville, but in Posey County. (In January and February of 2008, tornadoes again made headlines. A tornado rated EF-2 killed two occupants of a mobile home in Posey County) Source: NOAA website, Paducah tornado history
@tmxd81 Plus, I wasn't talking about Jeff, I was talking about the OTHER NEWS ANCHOR. He states that the tornado rolled through the city, when it very obviously did not. I watch WFIE during storms most of the time because he is accurate, and the station itself is in northern Vanderburgh county. The tornado that touched down was in Posey County, it was verified in the next few days (as all tornados are). There were very powerful winds in Vanderburgh County, though, so a warning was needed.

The station was in the path of heavy outflow.The damage to buildings roofs can still be seen 3-4 miles east of its location.
Its the kinda blowjob that costs you a deductible!

@short1ue He clearly states that the Tornado Warning was for Northern Vanderburgh County, not the city of Evansville.

@bigazzpimp407 As stated earlier, I wasn't talking about Jeff, I was talking about the actual news anchor presenting the story.

@short1ue: Posey doesn't have Evansville... Vanderburgh does!

@short1ue
you are just a troll
Evansville isn't in Posey County. He accurately described where the tornado is moving.
