  • I love this video. I had no idea about this and I'm sure this is much healthier then taking a pill. Hopefully I can find this and give it a try. :) very helpful tip! Thanks!

  • Hi!I'm russian and in russia kefir is something we drink almost every day, we love it!I'd like to share what I do with it.I drink kefir mixed with some mint leaves and it's so refreshing and good for your health,I love it!

Keep doing amazing videos,I've learned a lot from you!

  • Terrific! Thanks so much for sharing your special recipe. It really sounds delicious and I'm going to give it a try as I love mint :o)

  • Thanks for posting! Love your channel!!!

  • Thank you :-) I made a smoothie today and it was wonderful.

    Yummy !!!

  • Nice video.

    Question :

Can Kumis be used instead of Kefir ?

  • I believe it is similar to Kefir in that it is fermented milk (true kumis is fermented mare's milk, however, cow's milk can also be used). I think it would be a fine substitute.

  • this sounds & looks delicious.

    : D

    i'm gonna try it.

  • It is, and it's so healthy for you. Let me know what you think :o)

  • kefir..is nutritious...but has so much sugar....

  • Hi, I agree it does have quite a bit of sugar. What I like to do is purchase plain kefir and a flavored Kefir and then I mix the two in my cup. It cuts way down on the sugar. Or, you can simply enjoy plain kefir by itself. It's great if you are having a sweet treat like a muffin with it.

  • hi i was just asking if you could watch my videos (there are two) and maybe tell people my screen name and promote it a little there is a lot to come and mi camera broke so i cant make videos for now?

  • Hi, have you ever heard about Laben Chaouia? Is a fermented milk with a lot of friendly bacteria in it. I think is similar to kefir ( at least in taste). I use this because where I live I can find kefir just in small, very expensive bottles. I hope this can provide benefic effects too.

Thanks so much for your videos, you are wonderful!

  • Hi, it sounds similar. Thanks for sharing that.

  • i've been having sleeping problems! i should definitely get some kefir!!!

  • Do You Know What kind oF yogrut

  • Try some different kinds and see what you like. I recommend fat free or low fat varieties, but I do not recommend yogurts containing artificial sweetners. I don't like these chemicals and would rather just have the sugar. A tip to reduce the sweetness of the flavored yogurts is to mix plain yogurt into the flavored yogurt.

  • Kefir sounds great! As I think I've said before, there isn't a Trader Joe's anywhere near me. Do you know if I can get it at Wal Mart, or at the Military grocery store? (it has another name, but I can't remember how to spell it.)

  • Hi, if you have a Wal Mart Super Store near you, I think they should have it. The one near me doesn't have the big grocery section, so mine doesn't carry those types of things. Most super markets (like Stop and Shop) carry it too! Hope that helps!

  • Thanks so much for replying to my comments!

  • Yum Kefir! Tofu...Your kitchen is well stocked with so much stuff that's in my kitchen! My kids love kefir too. I LOVE raising them with all these good for you goodies...not the usual junk.

Lovin' all of your vid's! :-)

  • woo thanks for upload this helps a lot =)

  • You're very welcome! Thanks so much for your comment :o)

  • ahhh they dont do it in england :( but i can probably use a yohgurt drink instead?

  • Oh, that's too bad! Well, yogurt is definitely a good second choice.

  • What would be a good alternative snack for someone who is lactose intolerant?

  • Many people who are lactose intolerant can actually tolerate kefir and yogurt very well because they are made from fermented milk and contain lots of bacteria that aid lactose digestion. The bacteria actually help digest the lactose that your body has trouble with. Give it a try. If you find it's still a problem for you, you can always take acidophilus or probiotic capsules, pills, or chewables to obtain friendly bacteria. Thanks so much for your comment!

  • you can also put soy protein powder in the milkshake!

  • Yes you can! Thanks for sharing.

  • Hiya a new subscriber here :) Had a question for you on the Kefir smoothie, Would adding vanilla extract take anything from it? Or counteract the benefits? Thanks -Melissa

  • Hi Melissa, welcome to my site and thanks so much for subscribing! Go ahead and add vanilla extract. That's no problem at all. You can get as creative as you want in your smoothie. Have you ever tried coconut extract? It's yummy too! I make a pina colada smoothie with fresh pineapple and coconut extract :o)

  • Loveeeeeeee Coconut ! Hmmm I think I need to go shopping now lol. Thank you for responding :)

Looking foward to your tips and ideas.

  • Ooh! I asked my friend about the streptococcus and he said there are very good ones and bad ones.

Actually today I bought some!! I got peach and strawberry, and the funny thing is it was the last strawberry one they had. I was so happy!

It tastes sooooooooo good!!! I love it!

And it made me really relaxed. I actually was so relaxed I took a light 20 minute nap out of no where a bit after I had a glass. I never did that before!

haha, thanks for sharing this product! :)

  • Oh, that is sooo great!!! I'm thrilled you like it. I've never tried the peach, but it sounds yummy and I'm going to get some tomorrow! How nice that you felt really relaxed from it - that's so wonderful and little naps are so good for you. Thanks so much sharing!

  • looks yummy

    will try it

  • This looks so delicious!! Thank you for sharing this! I make smoothies from soya milk, fruit and add some flax seed into it...also very good, but I must try this (if I can find Kefir in my area). I love the tip of adding powder milk for more calcium. I will be definitely purchasing!

  • Great! Let me know how you like it!!

  • Oh! And do you think mixing grains with it would work?

I really want to try this now! It looks so good! I hope I can get it somewhere around here.

  • Absolutely! I add different cereals to it all the time for a crunchy snack. You can be as creative as you like. You can do the same things you normally do with yogurt. You can even bake it into recipes!

  • I want some now!

    But.. did you say streptococcus?

I think that causes strep throat and meningitis?

  • Hi, you don't have to worry because there are many streptococcus species. Those contained in Kefir are friendly ones that are beneficial to the body, not the disease causing ones. Thanks for your comment!

  • Yummy wishing I could share some of your smoothie (lol) looked really delish. Great tip on calcium. Will be picking up some Kefir soon & dry milk at Whole Foods & will try the Viactive also. Thanks! :-)

  • Great! Thanks so much for commenting :o)

  • you should do a new tip everyday! I enjoy your tips!!

  • I wish I could, but it would be hard for me to find the extra time. Hopefully, that time won't be too far off though, since my kids are getting older. I'm so glad you're enjoying my tips! Great to hear from you :o)

  • What a great tip! Thanks for sharing!

I'll start out just drinking Kafir straight, but your smoothie looks like a delicious treat every once and a while. I'll get some powdered milk too. A few years ago I stocked it in the kitchen pretty routinely for emergency use, and used it daily too. I need to get back to doing that. I didn't really think about the health benefit back then.

  • Hi, another great thing about the powdered milk is that you can add a spoonful to milk in your cereal and it will sweeten it up a little. I started do that years ago when I was pregnant to get extra calcium and just stuck with it. I really like the taste. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Another great tip! I'll try it :o)

  • with her sleeping* :P

  • First time hearing about this. Very informative video, my mom has trouble sleeping, so I think it will help her with her. Thanks for the helpful info. : )

  • You're welcome! I hope it helps her. It works for me and it doesn't make me feel too full to go to bed. Thanks for sharing!

  • It is so nice of you to share your knowledge of healthy foods with us. I had never heard of Kafir but will look for it when I go shopping. I especially like the tip about the powdered milk. I know I have to take in more calcium but always have a problem with swallowing those calcium tablets.. Thank you so much for the tip.

  • You're very welcome! You can find it in the dairy case close to the yogurt area. Lifeway is the one I most commonly see in super markets. Also, if you ever do want to take calcium because you need moreand just can't get enough through your diet, try Viactive. They are chewable squares that come in quite a few flavors like chocolate, caramel, and strawberry!

  • Thanks . I'll try the Viactive :)

  • thanks so much for showing us all another side to kefir

  • You're welcome! Thanks so much for commenting :o)

  • I've not heard of Kefir here in Australia, but it looks yummy! I'll take a look now and see what I can find.

  • I hope you do! It's so healthy for you. Thanks for commenting :o)

  • That looks delicious! I never really knew much about Kefir, but I'm going to Trader Joe's to get some - thanks so much for the great healthy tips!
