It's just that when he tried using the Gold Ranger power, that was when they realized that Billy can no longer morph, due to his body absorbing the negative energy of the morphing grid when the command center was destroyed at the end of MMPR... I really don't know the real reason behind his inability to morph... But one thing for sure, he didn't become a Zeo ranger not because he gave it up, but simply because he can't morph anymore....

they basically made this because the mighty morphin was gettin too fucked up because billy was the only original left so they decided "hey lets just make a whole new thing"

@dantedabuildin Actually, the Super Sentai show in Japan changes every year (since 1975) and Power Rangers gets their footage from that series, so after 3 years of keeping the same original suits, they decided it was time to catch up with the Sentai. (Season 1 used Zyuranger footage, MMPR 2 used dairanger mecha but kept the Zyuranger suits except Kibaranger, and MMPR 3 used Kakuranger mecha and the Kakuranger themselves as the "Alien Rangers" -- Zeo used Ohranger completely.)

@dantedabuildin Witch by the end "Billy" left because he was being called names. Witch I can understand why. But still thought ZEO was cool, but you got to admit when Rocky became Blue, he down-graded.

@Justice12884 Rocky got fucked over...when he became the red power ranger by that time the white ranger led the pack then like u said became blue in the next season. Unlike TJ in turbo when he was the red ranger he took control.
