like I said in another video, it appears DB isn't completely useless. (I got it in a package type thing I bought mainly for plant life and treemagik.) Great work mate.
Actually, TGC has released a free version of Darkbasic Pro last year. It is downloadable on TGC's website. Captainbalu88, in your last reply I guess, you got me and GamingAssaultSquad mixed up. The game is no where near a state in which it could be released as a download. To your last question I can only ask, why not ? Even though I'm planning to release at least a little demo, I'm in no way obligated to do so. Sorry but I did find that last comment a bit snappy, but no hard feelings.
IT WOULD BE SO AWSESOME TO ANSWER MY QUESTION!!....SO u just did the models in 3ds and imported them into dark basic how ? and if u imported them in darkbasic u knew programming ? did u have to program? and isnt darkbasic sort of sleazy i heard compared to Dev visual c++ i heard u can do more programming and beter options there why idnt u do it there.....please give me links to help me and talk to me !!!
I create the models in 3ds Max, export them with KWXport and load the objects in .x format inside DBPro. Maybe DarkGDK in combination with C++ would be an alternative. The last time I did something with C was over 10 years ago, I don't feel like refreshing my memory at the moment. I'm quiet efficient with DBPro, so I'll stick to it. Unless or until I'll encounter a major problem. But so far DBPro does everything I want it to do. It's just not the fastest engine out there.
that's awesome, you have a lot into it and a lot to do at the same time I can see. My WIP's just a 2D oriental thing... also it looks like you used an effect on that, almost thought the skysphere moved for a sec. (did it?) Which effects, if any? And I didn't quite notice the focusing in the video, but it's clear on your screenies over in TGC's forum, like a camera took the pictures. See ya
You are actually right, the sky is moving. Or should I say rather the clouds are. the backgrounds consists of 3 layers, sky, clouds and the mountains. But the cloud movement isn't that obvious in the video, mainly because of the low quality. For the clouds sphere I used a shader which scrolls a texture with alpha . Thanks ! See ya around !
THAT WAS RLY RLY GOOD!! Dude can u plz tell me(im a noob at this and im not trying to make a fantastic game like this) how in hell did you do that? with models you mean the houses and the trees are made in 3ds max? what do you mean by textures? how much coding is required to make a thing like that? i want to make a fps but i dont know where to start:P maybe models? but i dont get the part about coding? how do i know what to write in darkbasic pro, i dont understand that :( can you help me?
Yes the models are created with 3ds Max. Textures are the colored skins of the models, without them you would only have a solid colored object. I would advice you to start with FPS Creator x9 or X. Jumping right into the creation of a FPS with DBPro and self created content will lead to frustration without the necessary knowledge. If you want to dive into DBPro none the less, start with the tutorials and read source code. It will help you understand things. Good luck !
i was thinking of starting with modeling:P i have the 3ds max 2010 but i rly suck:P i havent made anything solid:( i dont get it how did you do all that? the big house, how did you do it, piece by piece or what? like do you make a box and then start shaping it or you make a little piece and an other one and then you put it together?
Thanks ! I'm using an Intel Core Duo 2 Model 6300 (1.8g Ghz), 4GB of Ram and a Geforce 9600 GT with 768MB of Video Ram. 2 years old but still good enough for me. The average frame rate at the moment @ 1280x720 is around 180 FPS.
Gr8 dude! Hope your projectis going fine. xD
Perhaps you might use 3d studio for the cinematics, so it wont lag that much. ;)

how did u get the graphics so high were u useing a game engine with DBP ?
RDAWG2743 2 years ago
It's just DBP with shaders really
Irradic 2 years ago
If someone were to download this would it lag like that on everything ? or is it just your recording program? :O
BioWarzProductions 2 years ago
It's the recording program. Still looking for alternatives.
Irradic 2 years ago
Try ZD Soft Game Recorder. I found it to lag less then fraps, and if you really want to, it's super easy to crack.
darkpivotpro 2 years ago
i saw someone used fraps to record theirs. You should try that :) i know its not free though...

The game creators have a nice bundle, I think called Dark Studio, it costs around 80$ if I'm not mistaken. Why don't you check it out
Irradic 2 years ago
Actually its on sale. I just bought the DGS bundle for $54.80 including shipping ;)

Also, what are your system. specs and what is the fps without fraps (or whatever)?
Very impressive.
