Well, apparently I can't understand your accent as well as I thought I could. It took me the full first minute of the video to figure out that you were playing pool, not porn.
Bloody hell. You are a real eye opener to me with this. I have a "non-specific anxiety disorder" (I'm told that is what it is).
One of your vids mentions "fight or flight" instinct. That's exactly what I have a problem with. Having watched your vids up to this (and I will watch all), that we've something in common. New situations & environments are a problem. For you it exhibits increase in Tics. Me, I've to suppress some physical urges which are not socially OK. Modern life is a problem.
@gcallard modern life!!, I feel allergic to modern life. As I am writing this I am ticcing , I have been ticcing everytime I lose focus (Focus, pah, intense concentration on a topic) since I woke up yesterday. This is because I went out tuesday night to have what is considered a 'normal' night out with friends down my local social club, for this I have to pay, one night out, two days of ticcing and sensory problems. Good job I really enjoy the 'open mic' nights we have. Life eh!
@TheMainMeal You hit the nail right on the head. Allergic to modern life. That's what I feel. I'm lucky (well, sort of in a "not really" kind of way); some wanky tablets make me able to not feel it so I can continue with what most people consider to be normal life, however I still think it. But that's another topic altogether. I don't really know what else to say. I don't want to be patronising. So until I have something useful to say, I'll simply wish you my best. Be well, and keep going.
@Harper0911 Presently It comes in waves, sometimes really bad, other times less so, in my case as the sensory stimulus lessens , ie, when the children grow up and become less random, my tics will be reduced
and finally, I truly appreciate the educational & entertainment values of yr vids..You've created a wonderful combination of personal insight, humor and an openness to share with us viewers a little of yr world..Thank you..

Her tics can be extremely confronting to the general public & although she is not in the least racist, she will call people "Fucking Asian Cunts" etc. Unfortunately this gets her into extremely precarious..cont
And no one would dedicate themselves to making numerous videos just to make people think something. He's not even being funny about it, and his message isn't even about the disorder. Unless he's a die hard method actor getting into role, YOU ARE WRONG.
I really admire your honesty and open-ness about your life and how you interact with others. You are really helping people understand things they do not comprehend. You have a great sense of humor and you seem like a really, really amazing person! Thank you! :)
OH ,MAN the explaining made me wiggle of laughter, i had to stop and write it to you . my older brother had a class mate in early days who had a similar condition but he went out and visited us , helped build a garage where HE sat the roofin in early teen age, and remembering seing him work, once again he knew this (wiggling again)and started to paint exacktly like you show knowing it would be all over the place and we all injoyd it.he he he

Top man!! I have the highest admiration for you sir for sharing the way you feel with people that are going through the same thing as you, and educating people such as myself that don't have these ticks about how it is to have them. I also have things to deal with that are hard to, or mostly impossible to control that aren't understood. Unfortunatly self harm/mutilation is my thing and I do my best to help people dealing with this issue via facebook of all places. Stay well dude & keep posting
I've enjoyed watching your videos. My son and I watched a special about some teens spending time at a camp with other kids that have tourettes and we came across your videos in the process. You seem to have a more profound form of tourettes and I imagine you've faced some very difficult challenges in your life as a result and that sure doesn't seem very fair. You also seem to be quite a funny guy and I would bet you're fun as hell to hang out with, too. Nice to meet you. I wave howdy of Texas =]
You are a champ, geez!! Thank you for your insight. Your good nature brings understanding to people who might not otherwise get it. Nuff respect, man!
you must get sooo tired at the end of the day. or at least you must sleep like a log. it seems soo tiring. do you exhaust yourself enough were you don't tic anymore?
I know what you could do with the extra money, buy an XBOX360 :D. What you're saying jus bouts' fits into the rest of the racial slurr, and random profannity sounds like the rest of the diera mouthed people of the wonderful gaming communitty.
I see you've managed to maintain a good sense of humour regardless of tourettes. Humour is a helpful tool to handle difficulties in life. Anyways, what made me watch more of your videos was that you seem to be a very nice and interesting person. :)
i think showing us ur tics is great, you look adorable and i really look up to you :) ur just a normal person and its great your just showing everyone that! where abouts in UK u from?? u sound quite london-y :P im from bristol but i'd love to meet you!! xxx
Thanks Parisa, I am originally from Essex, hence the accent...I do not meet people, I'm just an internet entity and thats how I like it..but thankyou ever so much for your comments..
Seriously..... I'm sorry a higher being chose you or ANY of you that suffer for that matter. What a horrible thing to have to live threw and with. Society will never accept your ticks and that is just very sad.
did I say that?, I watched it back and couldn't find me saying that ( thats not to say its not there!)...But I wouldn't describe myself as having a mind that moves a thousand miles a second..more like I have only one train of thought in social situation and I talk fast when talking about my topic...
As far as am I am aware it is only a small minority of TS sufferers that swear..I don't really know why I swear, I never used to, it just 'progressed' from saying 'oh yes' alot, to 'fuck' and 'fucker'....I figure it must be a primate defence mechanism to ward off potential' predators' ( people in general ), but who really knows eh!
Well, the public are arse-holes in general so I guess your defence mechanism is spot on :).
You see them, buggering about outside, getting in the way, walking too slowly, talking about the price of whatever.. We're all thinking it when we walk past them, but you say it :)
0:55 with the face shaking and funny noise had me laughing... sorry. Again I hope this doesn't make me a terrible person...
I do have a question, related to what I just said. When you see your ticks in videos you've made, do you ever find it funny? Or is it so pervasive in your life that seeing it has lost all humour for you?
I find the tics funny, just how funny, you'll see in another video I made called 'Low functioning vs high functioning vs tourettes..'..you'll have to sit through it to see though...I think you'll appreciate it..
I don't mind people laughing at the innapropriate stuff, seeing a stifled laugh cracks me up and makes me tic more which causes more stifled laughter which eventually leads to the person 'leaving to go to the toilet' ..ive never been evil enough to follow them in...
I am not into crystals, long hair, channelling and loose clothing ( unless of course I've had a lot of beer and need elasticated trouser )..so no, me and the new age movement don't bond well...
A chap called 'Gerald Suster' once described the new age movement as 'tarted up, watered down christianity', I think that summed it up well...As you can see I have not had good experiences with new age types...hence my bias
I relate to you very well in regards to making weak links to switch the topic to something you obsess about. Recently I have been really trying to control this.
Oh its terrible, I think its funny when I think about it...Luckily for me everyone in my environment knows this about me, I have told them to just point out that I am making 'weak links' again..they all think its funny!
Well, apparently I can't understand your accent as well as I thought I could. It took me the full first minute of the video to figure out that you were playing pool, not porn.

Question: is this going to get easier with time? I thought at your age it would have lessened significantly.
Serious props to you. Respect to you for talking to the world about this, giving us a glimpse at something not many people understand.

You just made me realize that people with Tourettes are just regular people, but REMIXED.
I have it too.
Watching you is like watching a good song be remixed with a heavy bass, electro synth and echo effects.

You get respect from me, boss, that can't be easy. I think I've got a bit of it, but it isn't incapacitating (yet).
You might get some benefit from watching several hundred hours of hidden-camera pub footage...
about 50% of drunk bar patrons have a 'special topic', and unlike yourself, they don't appear to feel bad
about bending the conversation back to it, no matter how ridiculous the reason.
Take it easy on yourself and keep fighting the good fight...
