  • All i got to say is.... ABBY'S A HOE :P!!!!

  • Have you read the Crucible?

    If you have

In what ways does the subject of identity raised in the final scene?

What do you think is the single most important subject of the play?

How are Elizabeth and John both tortured by guilt?

Why does Elizabeth refuse to influence Johns decision?

Do you think John reached the final decision at the end of the play?

Use quotations or specific reasons and references from the text (If you can please).

I really need help with these questions

  • @Kayonmangement 1. John doesn't want his name to be soiled for future generations, and thus refuses to sign the confession. 2. This is up to you, though I'd say somewhere between the evils of human nature and what fear can drive people to do. 3. Elizabeth blames herself for John's affair with Abigail; John blames himself for committing adultery. 4. Elizabeth doesn't want to take John's "goodness" away and feels he must decide for himself what is right. 5. Yes, he ultimately did.

  • I LOVE TITUBAAAA <3 <3 <3

  • I got a massive fright while reading the comments wating for the vid to load when it came on,i had the volume on full too!

  • ive read the book. bassically although all the people and events were real, it was fictionalized by the books author Arthur miller who wrote as an alligory to the mccarthy anti communist hysteria of the 1950's. unfortuantly arthur miller was also attacked by mccarthy

  • this is the perfect movie that shows how evil and wicked religion can be.

  • @6angelo9 it is not the religion that is evil and wicked, it is how people percieve it and carry it out that is the evil part. it is the people who twist it into unbelievable extremes just like in the salem witch trials. do you understand what i'm trying to say?

  • i dont get why they have to all sexualize it

  • The Crucible:

    Slut: "You're a witch!"

Guy: "Nope, but you're a whore."

Priest/judge: "Is he really a witch?"

Slut: "YES, and he's the devil too! Evil spirits attack me all the time! I'm a crazy whore!"

Guy: "This whore is just mad because I won't leave my wife for her."

Priest/judge: "Well, I'm a crazy religious fanatic, so we're gonna hang this guy."

And then they separated church and state.

    The end.

  • Village idiots, most of them remind me of todays liberal - pretty ironic!

  • @guitarplayer4real Really? You sure it doesn't remind you of the cold war? The original point of the play? :O

  • @BdMdrFckr Yea I can draw several analogies that all seem to fit but I'm creative like that - The point of the play was irrelevant to my rant, its why I didnt direct it at anyone in particular, it was an off the cuff kind of statement I guess. I was serving in the army in europe during the cold war, and no this movie really didnt remind me of it.

I do see the connections and 'get it' though if thats what you mean:-) I do see what the director is getting at, heh!!

  • I am Reading the Crucible in English 11 right now we are at part act 3

  • Not bad my friend

  • .....i loved this play the second i started reading it in my 11th grade english class.....the play made me cry, and so did the movie T_T

    absolutely amazing <3

  • Awesome :)..Can you make more of these? i love Reverend Hale :)

  • Im reading this in my english class. I'd really like to see the whole movie but I can't seem to find it T^T gurrrr

  • damn i have 2 do a fukin homework about diz nd its worht 400 points... i didnt read da story cuz its frikin lame, borin nd lonnnnnnngggg.... can some1 tell me where 2 find da movie???

  • where can i find this movie? im tired of seeing these stupid trailers and kids trying to react this in their back yard, i want to see the real movie damn it!

  • @shdgahsgf the whole thing started when the girls went boy-crazy and went into the woods. That one act of adultery didn't set off 10 other girls, it was what they did in the woods that set the whole thing off.

  • Nice trailer - I think the timing was really well done.

Of course everyone sees Abigail as en evil bitch, but I think she's got some very serious issues that are just exposed and heightened by the irrational hysteria of her community. Because her parents were killed right in front of her, she's probably been traumatized and yearning for attention or parental love. So she takes it out in an unhealthy relationship with John Proctor and basks in the negative attention of the trials.

  • Love the intense music XD I can't wait to watch this in class. The voice recording for the book freaks me out!! I am pretty excited.

  • I dont get how people can be laughing as people are being hanged.

  • I have just got the part as Mary, everyone tells me that she is worse than Abigale because she's a coward. I do not see her as a coward. She is just terrified and from all around she's being threatened. She want's to do the right thing but the judge and Abigale basically forces her to take it all back. How do you see her? Is she a coward to you?

  • @sumle85 Yeah, honestly, I do think she is a bit of a coward. It's not to say that her fear isn't understandable given the hysteria that arises in the community, but she doesn't have the guts to form her conviction and stick to it. Abigail is an angry girl and a conniver, but at least she's got a story and she's sticking to it. She's more weak than cowardly if you ask me. It's like Goody Putnam. She's got a lot of deeper issues that play out as irrational behavior.

  • Somehow i'm proud of the new world, atleast the law's improved.

  • IS there anywhere i can watch this movie online? Please Answer

  • the ending was just so sad. I got to read it and after seeing the movie I was in tears.

  • Yeah Betty

without her the film would have been boring.. although i wish like 1/3 of the town was hanged :/

  • so much irony!!!

  • Im playing abigail in my english coursework

  • im doing coursework on this now im in year 10, on here Elizabeth and John Proctor's realationship changes after the courtroom scene

  • abigail was a bitch

  • @Apink420 yeah no shit. We're watching that movie in our english class and everyone's always saying "oh my god. What a bitch!!" and our teacher allows it cuz she agrees lol XD

  • @Apink420

I cry witch against your name!

At least, that's what would have happened, had you said that.

  • @Apink420 the worst villain in history

  • @Apink420 well what'd you expect the antagonist to be?? :D

  • we're doing this in drama- i'm mary warren. any tips?

  • She's a little girl trying to be a woman who ends up failing miserably.

When I think of Mary Warren I think of a little girl playing Doctors and Nurses. When it gets too real, she gives in and cries about it.

  • thank you. :)

  • im mary warren in my english class, well we are on act three. so far, all mary does is yell.

hmmmm.. tips. well stutter beucase one you are supposed to but say it in a weak inferior voice and make it sound natural. facial expressions help and uhhh when yelling, but your heart to it and since you are in drama, act well. if it says to do something, do it will passion.

like stomp. stomp hard and loudly.

  • Thanks for the info, i'll yell and stamp passionately.

  • you are welcome

  • Be afraid and pathetic. Haha. No really my friend played her and I really wanted it. But that is how she is described. I love her. I'm sure you'll make her proud.

  • does anyone know where i can see this movie online?

  • John Proctor is a hero :)

  • He might even be an hero

  • @Sasske0Uchiha

john proctor was a child molester .__.

  • @LaStylo15

John Proctor was 60 in 1692, and he had probably never met Abigail Williams (who was 11 or 12, not 17) prior to the Trials.

  • very nice book man. Gotta love it!!

  • This made the movie look a thousand times more exciting.

  • Don't all trailers?

  • @UnusedCrayon it is a play by arthur miller, and a good one at that! i believe the film was an accurate portrayal of the play. wonderful literature and interesting characters. sorry if it doesn't live up to the special effects, boring story line and wooden acting of most nowaday films! This is a wonderful play with great historical insight... if that's not your thing then fair enough but don't make out it is boring just because you can't understand a very famous and appreciated text

  • @gemmaclairefairy What's with the insults? I said that the trailor did a good job of promoting this. I didn't say anything rude at all. =/

  • @UnusedCrayon Don't waste your time with this movie, I finished watching it in American Studies at school and it sucks.
