We are. We mostly composed of 70% Hydrogen I think. Then remaining 30% is oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon and traces of other elements all of which were made in the stars. Ones you die, the atoms and molecules you made up of will be broken down by microbes and go back into the ''cycle'' as i call it. Thats a FACT. Now is their a soul? Thats only based on FAITH. Not evidence. Personally for me being dead is the same as before being born. Thats why i value life, you get it ONES.
I give natural selection it's credit. But I see it as an instrument thats been used in the creation process as a blueprint for All of life to evolve and to survive. Actually, a theory is not an unproven idea. A theory is an explanation of how a fact, like evolution, works. Evolution has been proven over and over. I used to be a literal creationist, but now I accept evolution. I'm a Christian, and there is no conflict between evolution and Genesis when the latter is taken figuratively.

The Bible talks about the earth hanging upon nothing and that the earth is a circle. They didn't have anything to prove that back then like in today's world. Also, science proved the Genesis account happened as well - the way things came to be.

We are. We mostly composed of 70% Hydrogen I think. Then remaining 30% is oxygen, Nitrogen, Carbon and traces of other elements all of which were made in the stars. Actually, a theory is not an unproven idea. A theory is an explanation of how a fact, like evolution, works. Evolution has been proven over and over. I used to be a literal creationist, but now I accept evolution. I'm a Christian, and there is no conflict between evolution and Genesis when the latter is taken figuratively.

We all start from a philosophical presumption that involves faith (there is not neutral):
-Theist; God exists
-Atheist; God does not exist
-Agnostic Soft; If God exists He is not known by man.
-Agnostic Strong; If God exists, He cannot be known by man.
Anyway, back to my question on origins of morality. You may have addressed it indirectly with "people avoid extremes".
But are you aware of the positions of Kant, Russell, Nietzsche and Dawkins on the matter?

As humans we draw the line netween good and bad based on the inputs we get through our sensory system. If we have experienced burning, we know we should not burn another man. Adter seeing the simililrities between the man and animals we go forward to avoid burnign animals...

Do not medically relieve human suffering, if we are working against evo by preventing elimination of the physically unfit? Stark indeed are conclusions of an evo world view.
The philosophers I mentioned are logically consistent and acknowledge that they must deny evil exists if God does not.

It is good you try to think but your underline assumption does not allow you to think freely. Human brain is made up of neurons. They form networks based on the inputs and feedbacks it gets through the sensory system of the man. We learn using our senses. Thinking helps netter learning. Also, with evolution people have learnt how useful the coexistence is. Even some animals such as dolphins and dogs show such social friendly habbits. Even wild dogs and Hynas show firm social links. As I said earlier everything you can think of are part of 'nature'. As we know there is a form of life on Earth. There are billions of other planets we have no clue about. They may or may not have some form fo life, which might be completely different from the form life we have on earth.

Science is based on theories and those theories are no absolute truth. When a theory is disproved a new theory is developed. But those fairytael books claim to be the absolute truth. When a single thing in those books is disproved, the whole thing become useless... The idea of god as given in those books is baseless.

The Bible talks about the earth hanging upon nothing and that the earth is a circle. They didn't have anything to prove that back then like in today's world. Also, science proved the Genesis account happened as well - the way things came to be.

'Nature' does not necessary mean trees, rivers and animals. It is everything including the vast space.
All the laws in physics are traits fo this 'nature'.
'God' is a metaphor used by uncivilized man to refer to the 'nature'. They misinterpreted this idea to be a 'thinking being'. They started prayers etc. with this BLIND belief. This 'god being' is self violating..
