  • Great Demo Video :) Thanks for sharing.

I have a Question. How did you get the Software play back Midi Notes at the same time mQEdit is running? If i start my Sequencer first and then mQEdit, mQEdit says that Midi is already in use. The other way around doesn't work too (mQEdit started first). btw. i use a Midi to USB Cable connected to the MicroQ.

    Thanks,

    Ingo

  • @jivatma09 Hi, thanks for the comment. Anyway I think your trouble comes from the USB Midi cable, I have a cheaper EMU soundcard ( a 0404) and it works in this parallel way with all sequencers I've tried. Regarding Mqedit, it is a good program but often freezes for me as well - I have to follow this procedure: start Mqedit, boot up Microq and finally start the sequencer program.

  • part2:

What you can try, it may works: set different channels for Mqedit and your sequencer and set Microq channel to Omni in the global parameters. In this case Microq should recognize everything what you send.

Or final idea: try midi yoke - there you can make virtual ports and linking them.

    Regards

  • I want one.

  • which patch do u use for insomnia?

  • @kormanmanu

Hi, I used "High Energy" from Vengeance Q trilogy vol 1

  • Sweet demo; I got a Micro Q since 2002, where do you have the editor from? Do you know if it exists also for Logic? Cute little machine, I love especially the silky strings & pads...

  • @SamElektron

Hi, thanks for the comment. I have it only since 2007. I like it as well but would like to have the big Q once :-D

Regarding the program: I downloaded it from the developers site (it was free) and it is a JAVA program only (can not be integrated into any sequencer, but runs standalone well), so it should run almost on every platform.

Just drop me a private message with your mail file and I can share with you.

  • @gzengz Hi, hab Deinen comment erst jetzt gesehen - wie kann ich eine private message schreiben?

  • @SamElektron

Hallo, ich bin nicht good in Deutch so ich schreibe lieber auf Englisch:

So you can drop a private message in this way: on the upper left corner (next to "sign out") there is your name, point wih the cusrsor on it and you will se a drop down menue. There click on "incoming messages" ( or something like that, my channel is Hungarian so I'm not sure how it is translated) there you can see your incoming messages and tere should be an option to "write message"

  • I cant get no sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.....

  • This is cool. Can you hook up the micro Q with midi to a keyboard and play it live or can it only be played with software? I am thinking of getting one.

  • Of course it can be used with a midi keyboard

it has standard 5 pin midi in/out/through connections

I also control it via midi cable via my soundcard. The softwares are only for the easier and confortable control ;-)

  • Who ever said this sounds old school is wrong... definately can still be used to day... eveyones sick of hearing the clean cut digital sound of the TI.. this thing sounds awesome. The TI does to, but way way overused and over rated.

  • Cool demo! Thanks for sharing this!

  • Thank you for your comment!

  • That sound is way old, like 1996. Listen to 'above and beyond' or 'Deadmau 5' to know what sounds are now.

  • I know it sounds oldschool, but I never said that these songs are brand-new.

With some effects it would be more impressive.

But in this case I wanted to highlight the sound of MicroQ, using only few effects. There aren't too much microq sound demos on youtube.

  • @morocroc > WHAT A RETARD! yes lets all sound the same...cos that's todays sound..who gives a fuck, go back into your hole.

  • @vinyljunkie07

On sounding old - its great to use old school sounds but with a modern twist. Just dishing up whats gone before is lame.

People dont flock to a new movie if its exactly the same style and technique as one done in 1991 - they want a new twist, such as close in dramatic camerwork. Music is no different - you just cant copy the past and think youve delivered something artistic - just lame.

  • Both of those groups 'Above and Beyond' and 'Deadmau5' sound pretty bland. The sound is too clean, like they made their tracks entirely on a computer.

  • Right! So we should stop using pianos because they are a couple of hundred years old..and let's stop using guitars, they are old too! lol

btw, good instruments which make good sounds, NEVER get old.

The only people that say things like this, are too busy following trends, instead of MAKING trends.

    R.

  • @morocroc Give it time, I'm sure these oldschool sounds will make a comeback in the trance world, kind of like how oldschool rock music has been coming back in today's rock music. I love oldschool trance sounds. It's very unique.
